Hi there guys! Love Medusa. I remember it was the first mythological monster that caught my mind, first when I saw the old Clash of the Titans flick (stop motion rocks!) and then in castlevania ganes (still my favorite enemy along legion). I hope you like it :) I have a couple of versions more on the gallery.

LET´S WIKIATTACK!!

Medusa (Greek: Μέδουσα (Médousa), "guardian, protectress") was a monstrous chthonic female character; gazing upon her would turn onlookers to stone. She was beheaded by the hero Perseus, who thereafter used her head as a weapon, until giving it to the goddess Athena to place on her shield. In classical antiquity and today, the image of the head of Medusa finds expression in the evil-averting device known as the Gorgoneion. She also has two gorgon sisters. The three Gorgon sisters — Medusa, Stheno, and Euryale — were children of Typhon and Echidna, in each case chthonic monsters from an archaic world.

In a late version of the Medusa myth, related by the Roman poet Ovid, Medusa was originally a beautiful maiden, "the jealous aspiration of many suitors," priestess in Athena's temple, but when she was raped by the "Lord of the Sea" Poseidon in Athena's temple, the enraged goddess transformed her beautiful hair to serpents and she made her face so terrible to behold that the mere sight of it would turn a man to stone.

Finished commission for Kimburr, for whom I have done two portraits of her lovely golden tiger named Lobster.  Now a full body piece, and a fun concept to boot!  I loved the challenge of painting the wet fur vs the more dry fur, and painting big gushy cartoony water streams coming from her.  This one was a real treat, hope to be able to do more paintings with water in them!

Why don't we have more adaptations with Kalidahs? They're tigerbears, for god's sake :c

"And although his airbending skills are great, he has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone. But I believe Aang can save the world."

Aang was a bit complicated to draw due to the fact that he is bald. I don't know if I'm the only one but I think that bald characters are so much harder to draw OTL. Also wish I could add Momo and Appa but there already too much here :P

I've been submitting studies of the Avatar characters on my facebook page if want to check them out :3
