After building the Aventine, I felt compelled to build the Titan as well. I thought it'd be an easy task, and how wrong was I. I had to re-start that infernal secondary hull from scratch till I got the shape (kinda) right!

So, anyway, Riker's joy ride finally recieved the Metlesits treatment. I plan to release it if Mr. Tourangeau gives his permission.

Special thanks to :iconadmiral-horton: and :iconunusualsuspex: for providing me gaming models as reference!

Extract from the journal of Commander Robaart, Chief Cybernetics Officer:
"I'm really not sure what happened. We were trapped in a gravity well, and despite all the failsafe mechanisms, the ship hit the surface of the planet. Hard.... When I came to, there was utter chaos on the bridge, and a deafening silence. The only person breathing was the hybrid. I carried her as far as I could from the wreckage, to a strange stone pillar in a field of boulders. After I laid her down and collapsed against the pillar, I thought I saw her divide. Her dreaming body - I'm not sure what else to call it - rose up, knelt over her momentarily, then disappeared. Her corporeal body was still breathing, but was completely unresponsive. Somehow I knew she had gone for help..."

Rendered in Vue Infinite 2014.6, post-work in PostworkShopX64 and Photoshop CC 2014.

Ever since Lightwave added their own Instancing engine, I've thought it would be cool to add real stones to my "Karesansui dry garden.   The 2002 original used a displaced plane to simulate the raked gravel.

This new version uses over 7 million instances to create the "gravel sea".

I've also subdivided the stones so they look a bit more hi-res.  Not sure if I should mess with the background or not.   I've done some experiments but anything I add back there seems to steal focus from the foreground.

Let me know what you think!   So many different applications for instances...
