Ryu went to the computer lab immediately after Niveus gave him his mission. His talent for computers must have gained some of the higher-ups' attention. He really wanted a battle mission, but there was a calm around the worlds lately, and so, he was stuck on hacker duty. But it was better than nothing.

He entered a surprisingly high-tech area of the castle. Entire walls were plastered with monitors. State-of-the-art computers were lined up on neat rows of tables. It nearly made him salivate just looking at the display. Shaking himself, he noticed Shinrikyo already at the malfunctioning computer. He always seemed to know where Ryu was headed. Figured, being that he was his Nobody. But still...
"Hey, Darke," called Shinrikyo when he spotted him. "'Bout time you hauled yourself here. Been waiting for five whole minutes. How dare you?"
Ryu rolled his eyes, but smiled. It was their own inside joke, being that Shin was so much faster than Ryu... or anyone else for that matter. Except Azuki, of course, but that was a different matter.
"Maybe you could wait for me for once," he said, scooting Shinrikyo over and seating himself at the computer.
"Me? Wait? It's like you don't know me at all." If Shinrikyo had a lower jaw, he would have been grinning smugly.
Ryu ignored him and turned to the monitor, tapped in a few keystrokes, and went to work.

Two hours later, he felt like head-desking. Whatever this program or malfunction was, it was impervious to just about every program he tried to input or access. Shinrikyo lounged in a swivel chair nearby.
"C'mon, Darke," he moaned. "It's not worth the pain of doing this. Let's just go tell Niveus to forget about this computer."
Ryu ignored him, as he had been for the past hour and 45 minutes. Shinrikyo was not a patient man- if he could even be called a man. Ryu tapped in another program- just an identification bit- and hit the jackpot. A black-and-red heart appeared on the monitor: Heartless. Some mischievous little existence was sabotaging the computer. Not hostile, just a joker, apparently. Shinrikyo looked up at the monitor, probably to complain, then sat up and gazed intnetly at the screen.
"A Heartless in the computer? Odd..."
"Not really. Heartless can inhabit any sort of space easily. It's perfectly logical one could have entered the system."
Shinrikyo still gazed at the screen. "So, what do we do about our little troublemaker?"
Ryu thought for a moment. Then, smirking, he pressed Alt-F4, the universal hacker jackass program. The computer shuddered violently, then reared back and spat a bright blue Heartless criss-crossed with circuitry. It shook itself slightly, looked at Shinrikyo and Ryu, squealed, and dived into another computer.
Ryu walked calmly over to the computer and typed in the pair of programs, and before the Heartless could do more than squeak, Shinrikyo had encased it in a blob of paint.
"So, what now?" said Shinrikyo.
Ryu thought for a few seconds, then smiled.

Ryu climbed out of the Gummi ship and over to Niveus, who was waiting at the hangar.
"Where did you run off to? I needed to thank you for fixing that computer."
Ryu smiled innocently. "Just making a quick stop somewhere."

Meanwhile, at Castle Oblivion, Organization Infinity's computer's were suffering from large mass blackouts. And no one had a clue as to why...

MISSION: SUCCESS!
