So I got back from visiting some friends in Egypt at a small studio there, helping train them in some Maya techniques. As a way to learn we came up with a concept (the 3 images on the left) and then created the shots in 3D (on the right). Actually the whole project from concept to modeling, texturing, animation, lighting and rendering took only 5 days.

The first shot is deep in the heart of some dark factory as all of the machines and gears start churning. The second shot pans up through a systems of gears and pistons and everything comes to life as the camera reaches the top where it all culminates through a tiny whole in the ceiling. The last shot has the contrast of soft sunlight in a simple room as the machines comes up out of a hole in the floor and performs it's might task... pouring a cup of tea.

I cannot claim credit for the modeling (or animation... not shown here) as I was only the Director of that part. But the lighting and shading were done by me in these images as examples of how to work fast and efficiently in 3D to portray the lighting color keys.

OH MY!

and I thought the Mad Hatter was enough!

Goodness gracious, I managed to evade the Hatter for just a bit... then I grew weary and decided to find a place of solice...

I amnaed to find one, a cheery room, yet, I was aware that unexpected changes would occur.

But, the room was tranquil and sunlit, how could anything be so odd as this...

I settled on the bed to feel the softness of it and thought of Rabbit, Catapillar, and of course the Queen and her redundant chirping of "Cut HER HEAD OFF! rants...

*shaking my head*

I pondered a thought ~ a spot of tea would be nice just about now... for I was parched... and needed a relaxing spot of refreshment, as long as it was not crazy as the tea party...

then I was startled by a whirling noise, of mechanics churning away, clunky and the sounds of it was well used... squeaking a bit as well..

Then to my delight, a arm emerged from the flooring and a tea pot was pouring some hot tea onto a tea cup...

*I smiled and clapped my hands*

Wishes do come true within this realm of craziness...!!

:D

Those are some brilliant ideas, and I like the lighting, and those weird patterns in the window frames on the top ones.

Old mother hupboard went to the cupboard to fetch her poor dog a bone.
Went she bent over, Rover took over and gave her a bone of his own.
