This is a photomanip for :iconphantom-of-da-opera:s contest.

The contest called to create an alternate ending to the PotO story. In the ALW version [stage show] there isn't really an ending - we don't know what happens to the Phantom - we don't really know if Raoul & Christine stay together.

So this is the ending I created in my photomanipulation: I think the most believable ending would be that the Phantom would not get Christine. He would be too heartbroken to move on to any other relationship, and he would travel away from Paris. I believe he would move to a very secluded area where he would feel comforted, peaceful, and try to escape the reality of life. It may not be the best/happiest/most tragic ending, but it's what I've always imagined would happen.

What a delight this is! All this inventing, this producing, takes place in a pleasing, lively dream.

I absolutely love this! What a great twist. I completely agree with you. It wasn't really realistic for Erik and Christine to end up together.

Wonderful! Good luck!

Sorry to be flippant, but this makes me want to imagine him giving up on romance and sipping a cocktail with a little umbrella in it. Perhaps while reading a paperback novel. In all seriousness, I like the idea of him seeking a more remote solitude. Nice job.
