Wasn't an accent was a long S which before the 19th century it was a font character for lower case s (loosely speaking)
I switched over to a modern font since I ended up being stuck with one comic archive so I dropped the long s verison (not that many people were accessing it any ways), accept for in narration and written words with in the comic.
