What they tried to make impossible.....

I have one of the New HP machines the a6030la. They made it nigh on impossible to downgrade (or so they thought)... and only supply Vista Drivers on the website.

Well F**k You HP and F**k You Micro$oft!

- In Bios - change the Raid Option to IDE and you´re on the road.... Then again maybe not because HP rather obligingly made the drives dynamic as well and but some super crappy geometry on there..

Well after a few days of trying different things I finally managed to clean it all up and finally get what I wanted - Xp (yep - its crap too but a damn sight better than the heap of S**t that succeeded it!) Vista eliminated - another Micro$oft Virus cleaned up and finally a machine I can work on without the desktop constantly freezing up. Who honestly has the patience to wait 3 minutes between right clicking on a folder and waiting for the options to pop up. And these are supposed to be the engineering feats of intelligent folk???

- I think not!

Hasta la Crapper Veester Bay Bee! .)

Never take someone for granted
Hold every person close to your heart
Because you might wake up one day
And realize that you've lost a diamond
While you were too busy collecting stones.

I'm happy now that Vista is gone - machine is running rather well without it. Menus are more intuitive and more importantly I have control of the machine and not it over me..... maybe now both my wife and I can enjoy the computing experience for a little while when forced to use Windows. As those of you who know me already are aware I rarely touch PC - just not worth the agony!!!! ;)

Dang them!

Here's a cool article..... When you learn that the Inventor of LSD died recently aged 102 makes me wonder what all the paranoia is about! Sure some people suffer psychological breakdowns and paranoia but heck I have found a lot of folk like that who never touched an hallucinogenic substance in their entire lives. Wonder when the authorities are ever going to wake up and smell the roses. These breakdowns are more a result of the chemistry of those ingesting the drug. I read a similar report yesterday about them banning the sale of magic mushrooms in Amsterdam. Once again the issues are that many of the accidents were a result of users taking mushrooms with alcohol and or other drugs.

I freely admit I do not like LSD nor mushrooms for that matter... not my kinda psychedelics. I am just flabberghasted that we continue to ban hallucinogens and spread misinformation about them rather than informing users who want to (and will) take them anyway as to how to use them as safely as possible, what to expect and what the possible consequences/side effects are. Take a look around I see far more strung out smack heads on the street that do far more harm to society and the environment and yet it seems we are tolerant of them......

I would challenge anyone to take a look at a video called Other Worlds by Jan Kounen (French with english subtitles). It is a documentary aboult Ayahuasca in which he raises the true reason as to why hallucinogens are banned in modern society! Apart form everything else he illustrates tests that show proven benefits in the controlled use of such substances particularly in the production of seratonin and how it has been beneficial to some with psychiatric illnesses. Similarly I would challenge the sceptics to check out the life and work of Alex Grey. Who won a Nobel Prize for a piece he wrote while tripping - on the effects of psychotropics and hallucinogens at a molecular level!

What do you think induced Moses' vision of the Burning Bush? Mohammeds visions...etc (Not to mention some of the great painters) . In todays society such visionaries would be carted Straight of to the Loony Bin!

I know what you mean Z! I experimented and learned a lot from it. Now, I see the fear mongering conservatives outlawing the path to higher consciousness. I think they are desperate to protect their hypocrisy. But, hey I have enough trouble keeping my own at bay...:D Fractal on...
