These are two boys, yes. See the huge and exaggerated Adam's apples? xD (I have a thing for neck anatomy, and tend to go a little bit overboard with apples, tendons and collarbones. Whut.)

Cairus (left) and Darius, both from my book Abyss. This is a completely non-canon pairing, but one I've really got a soft spot for. xD Ha. It's dark, dysfunctional as HELL, unhealthy, would breed far too much dependence on Cai's part, and would all end in tears, and is never going to happen (though I might have to subtly hint at it, just HAVE to) - but I LOVE IT.

Title and entire idea comes from :iconvespertinesun:, and a song she shared with me, "Still Frame" by Trapt, with that lyric in it. It struck her as being a really Cai-ish song, and I agree, wholeheartedly. >D THANKS, DEAR.

I'm actually really surprised with how well this came out, especially since I don't do profiles very often. (Even if Darius' head is too small; I see that, ye don't need to tell me. x3) And Cai looks HAPPY, which is WEIRD - I never get to draw or write him HAPPY! >D Even weirder is the fact that Darius looks like he's about to kiss Cai *SM-ACK* right on the nose, ha! xD Might have to take a break from my fanart/coloring period, and draw more people from Abyss! :3

Well darn. It's simply splendid. (I have this strange love for exaggerating neck features too, so be not woeful.)

I'm overjoyed that I could inspire such a lovely arts, bb. =D

I love Darius's ears and earrings, AND the fact that Cai looks so content. That's such a sweet expression on his face. <33

:iconurhappyplz: YES, it was so much fun, and it's all thanks to yeeeee! <3 Har! Seriously, ye've proven to me that I CAN still draw, and I can draw my characters, and make it look the way I want, so this was honestly really good for me. n_n

>D I KNOW, I loved doing Darius' ears, and I'm happy ye like! They're just so... SWOOPY! I just want to play with them all day long. And yeah, it's somehow... really endearing and almost therapeutic drawing/seeing Cai happy and calm for once - everybody needs that, even him sometimes, I guess, the poor dear. He's never happy in Abyss, really, which is - really sad, now that I think about it. And this actually is a scenario in which I can see him being... happy.

Aww, thanks so much, hon! :glomp: I'm seriously joyful that ye like this - and really, it looks convincingly like a painting? AWESOME. >D

Yeah, this is Cairus Maddox and Darius, two characters from the book I'm getting published, Abyss. If ye want to get into Cai's head a little bit, my Featured Deviation is the prologue to this, and it's from his point of view. In a nutshell, Cai's little brother Tobias (blind, and horribly burn-scarred) has to pretend to be a god, in order for atheistic human-rights activist Darius (he's an elf, making his 'human-rights' thing actually specific to humans, and a little ironic) to be able to convince the ruling government of Jhairu, their city, to give humans the same rights as elves. And all around this there's a ton of drug dealing and addiction/od's, gang fighting, rape, and Cai is just trying to stay sane through all of this, as he's really very unbalanced as it is, and all of this is just coming so close to pushing him over the edge. And in the story, Darius just wants very badly to figure him out and help him - they start out HATING each other, but gradually come closer together from their mutual love and care for Tobias. They aren't together, nor are they ever going to be, but... I have a really soft spot for this pairing, so. :B HERE IT BE.
