It was also a study on perspective and the loose painting style. I'm trying to approach my work with less time on unneccesary details and completing it in a shorter duration.
Ultimately, what matters the most it is how well the story or content is potrayed. Coming up with an effective and attractive work is about the blend of balance between contrasting the main focus of the painting to the secondary focus or the "filler".
There are many ways to achieve this balance - composition and forms, value and color, detail, etc..
Just hoping that in time, I could learn to master the techniques.
~ Earthworks, one of the few standing Wonders, built by the dwarven mountain folk, were considered by many enemy tacticians to be the 'Untouchable'.
For centuries, many armies were crushed miles before they even come to the visible range of the fortress. Those who had seen it, and lived, both venerated and feared for it. The humongous stone cannon had become a legend passed through their generations, woven into war stories and always find its way over a couple pints of mead.
But for the dwarves, it represented a monumental historical marriage of sculpture and engineer.
sorry I don't have any advanced critism for you, I simply love this ^_^ I really like the special angle and the nice little details all around the focal
i couldn't be sure but i was thinking that the extreme white space pushes the focus into place and to contrast the extreme negative space of the bottom left.
Yeah, I'm not anywhere near an expert it does equal out the dark, but it draws the eye away from the excellent details in the darker area too. That can be a good thing, makes people look at the piece longer to see everything, which is a very good thing. Again, love it.
Whoa, another sweet one dood. One thing I like about your pics is I get to learn more everytime. Or at least I think I do. XD So thank you for the awesome piece!
