Daily DeviationTea wasn't the piece originally suggested, but ~MadSketcher's entire gallery is such a unique mixture of traditional and digital techniques that it was simply too great to pass up. Don't miss out on the rest of this wonderful gallery! (Suggested by *Mollinda and Featured by $y2jenn)

how did you texture this??
~MadSketcher:iconMadSketcher: May 12, 2007, 3:30:09 AM
i scribbled the image on a piece of recycled paper... i then took the image, and made 2 duplicates of the black channels. after i have three layers of this black area (which includes a lot of the texture), i set the top layer of black to "multiply" and the rest to "normal". the texture of the paper becomes a bit darker - i adjust levels on one layer, and color in parts of another layer with the multiply function... it's really all over the place. i end up leaving out the original image by deselecting that layer... it gives me the basic outlines to work with. for the background, i just selected around the figure and colored with multiply, and then used color burn in another color to enhance it. there was a big green splotch on the left that took the image off balance, so i used color burn on the right to put a brownish hue in. i hope that made sense. you can always IM me on AIM - crazybloo. :)

oh duuurh... it's 6am.. i forgot to mention the flower pattern. i just found a pattern on google and then selected the clothes. i used the clone tool to select part of the pattern, and then just took it to the clothes, which were colored pink. after adding the cloned pattern you can decide how you want it to look (multiply, color burn, etc). hope that helps!

That's hella gorge :D I love the way that some of her features are really small. The colouring is lovely, subtle and warm!

I love this. Especially how the texture of the paper just leaps out at you. The colors of the woman nicely contrasts with the color of the paper.

This reminds me of something. I'm not sure what though...
