Acrylic on Canvas
14"x17"

I spent nearly a month working on this before i got the colours and shading exactly how i wanted them. Most of my work was spent filling in the backgrounds, the base layers of the colour i wanted, and then building on top of those over and over again. The tree especially probably cost me the most time, but the entire painting is dozens (if not hundreds in places) of layers of translucent pigments. The tree itself also has real rose petals in it, and i used masking techniques with it to increase the layer effect and give it the impression of a floral texture.

Please feel free to download and/or distribute this image. While i'd like print sales (the original was already sold), i'm more concerned with people getting joy and peace from this image. So please feel free to use this for your own purposes, even if you want to print it out, just enjoy it. All i ask is that credit remains where credit is due. I put a light watermark on the image; i tried not to make it too obnoxious, but please leave it there if you digitally distribute this image. :)

This is absolutely incredible. Thank you for putting it up to share with DA surfers like us.

I search a different random thing every day. Today I searched "ZADR" because I saw it in someone's avatar and wondered what it was. Never in my life had I seen so much sheer brainrot before. I was about to give up in disgust when I saw your painting in the "Newest" section, and it renewed my faith in this site. Keep it up!

Oh my gods; i had no idea what ZADR stood for but figured it out pretty quickly: "Zim and Dib Rip fiction? That's what they call that drek right? I agree with you on that one. Read my latest rant in my latest journal and you'll see just how much i agree with you. I'm glad it was a piece of mine that's keeping you coming back.

I've always been about the colours in my paintings, and i take the Gaugin comparision as a compliment in the highest regard, so thank you. The moon and the sky, although not the part i spent the longest on, were the parts that i had the most trouble getting to look exactly how i wanted.

Thanks for the link, and the rant. I'll admit I've faved things just because my friends did them, but what I actually have an account here for is to find people like you.
