John Sheppard shifted uncomfortably in his bed. Since the incident on planet M4C06, Sheppard hadn't felt like his usual self. He'd been experiencing strange visions and almost out-of-body experiences. Unfortunately, so had McKay. Sheppard closed his eyes and tried to fall asleep, but the memory of M4C06 kept haunting his mind.
------
Everything has seemed normal; M4C06 was a peaceful planet with friendly inhabitants. It was located in a section of the galaxy that was untouched by the wraith, and there were ruins that had scriptures possibly explaining the lack of enemies. Rodney McKay had insisted that this planet be explored- in case there was any information that could come in handy. Sheppard had agreed. Little did he know that this would be the cause of his problems.
While exploring the ruins, McKay and Sheppard came across writings that described a hidden laboratory that held information about the wraith. According to the scriptures, this lab had been used by the ancients in order to further understand wraith technology. McKay had found an entrance that could only be entered by those with the gene; including both men.
"Hey, Col... Come look at this. This is interesting. Very interesting."
"Oh yes. Very nice. Care to tell me what it IS exactly?"
"Well, it appears to be written in ancient..."
"No, really? I would have NEVER guessed. What does it MEAN?"
"This is obviously the entrance to the lab that was mentioned in the writings in the last ruin."
"Oh yes. Obviously. And how do we get INTO this lab?"
"It's quite simple really. It says here that only ancients can enter through the door-way... and since we posses the gene..."
"What door-way?"
"Good question. Feel along the walls and check for switches or secret entries. It should open once you touch it."
Once the two men had entered the lab, McKay started to look around. He was told by Sheppard not to touch anything, but of course, like usual, he didn't listen. Naturally, certain doom was evident. McKay had pressed a switch, and both men were consumed by an odd numbing sensation. That was the beginning of their troubles.
-------
Sheppard opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling. For some reason, he didn't feel like himself. That's when it hit him.
Sheppard instantly sat up and stared at the room he was in. There was no poster, no golf clubs, no sudoku book, and nothing else that was generally kept in Sheppard's room. Instead, there was a laptop, a coffee mug, several powerbar wrappers, and other various items that he did not recognize. The mattress that Sheppard was sitting on was rock hard- the reason for his inability to sleep. Sheppard jumped out of bed and ran towards the room where he knew that McKay would be sleeping. He banged on the door with his fist, trying to wake McKay from his sleep. Movement was heard coming from inside the room, and after a few moments, the door opened. Instead of finding Rodney McKay standing at the door, Sheppard found a groggy-eyed John staring at him. After a slight pause, a look of realization and shear horror flooded his face.
"Oh, no… Not again."
