It shows the face of Hathor, who was thought to be the wife (or mother) of Horus.
She was a goddess of art, music, dancing, wine, beer and patron goddess of entertainers of all sorts. She was also a goddess of love, later being identified with the Greek Aphrodite.
She is often represented as a cow, or as a woman with the head or ears of a cow, sometimes suckling a child, stressing her fertile, procreative nature.
