The Nature of Fantasy
So, the title is pretty clear, but has a double meaning, if you did not notice yet. It both means the natural way the fantasy works, and also it shows a kind of fantasy nature. The theme or idea was in the Archimedes spiral, and making a fantasy or imaginative piece using this spiral constructed. The things that follow the spiral is the horn which is the main part, the kind of snail coming out of it, all the leaves that look like the one in the middle of the horn, and the butterfly. The lines of these follow the spiral, which I found very interesting to work with. I then wanted to put this into an even more organic environment, and made more leaves without rules, plants and so on. This is also the first whole piece I have completed with a medium I rarely use for artistic purposes: a biro! It was supposed to be finished before christmas, but as usual I spend too much time working.. You know me!
