These were some sketches last night I did in pencil; the stroke was made blue in Photoshop. Which reminds me, I need to get those funky blue pencils...
I tried drawing the classic way; instead of just drawing the figure straight, I drew the shapes that composed the figure first. I'm really happy with how the rat turned out. You could see the outlines of the circles; same goes with the cat. The bird was more of my regular style kicking in, and I think it shoes.
I attempted to do profiling of my original char based off me, and failed miserably. I really, really need to work on the hair. I learned I could draw what I usually do for hair in three back-to-back strokes, instead of the laborious 10+. Why I made her hair stringy, I don't know. But no other hairstyle "works" for her.
Jane is cute. She reminds me of Mandark from Dexter's Lab, but not as evil.
