My cello and I ...
Edited on January 17th (2007): the left foot and the little bits of waist were erased, the colors improved, a frame was added.
Edited on December 1st (2007): I had enough of the yellowish color and the noise, so I finallly did something about it Hope you like it better.

I think you need to add a foot, instead of erasing one. In my opinion, this would add more stability (without any feet, the round base of the cello would give viewers the impression that the whole thing is going to fall over) and symmetry (two arms, two feet) to the photo. If you want to erase something, I'd say erase the small bits of waist showing on either side of the instrument.
I'd even go as far as saying that if you're ever going to record a solo album (or a demo), you could consider having this shot redone professionally and use it as album cover artwork. Well, unless you come up with even more creative ideas in the meantime.

Haha, my little broher started piano in spetember (and he's actually pretty gifted...Only four !). My little sister hasn't really decided, in the meantime, she's playing the violin like Coralay... But she actually wants to play double bass !!
Oh, thank you for this perfect comment. Adding in a foot is an interesting idea. I wonder... I wanted it to look like the cello was my body, so I thought taking the foot out would help this illusion. I'm not really good in PS, so I'll try
You put your finger right on the spot, though, with the waist I really tried an tried, took like 40 pictures, but no way could I make my waist disappear, I turned, lifted, it just didn't work. So you are perfectly right about that, I will try and take it away.
Thanks for the ideas and encouragemnts. Maybe I'll get my sister to press on the button for me one of these days
Hey elle est bien celle la! Par contre pour un CD, tu peux l'utiliser comme l'a proposé MarkdV, mais en couverture il faut un photo ou on te voit toi! (avec Eloise? )
"I wanted it to look like the cello was my body, so I thought taking the foot out would help this illusion." Hey, if that cello has arms, then why not also feet? If you want to reshoot with two feet, I suggest leaving some more space at the bottom of the picture. Maybe you could drape your hair over the cello to make the top of it look even more like shoulders? Also, it might look nice if you moved the shadow a bit more to the right, making the shape of your left arm visible.
Yes, it's a good idea to have your sister supervise a new shoot, to make sure that everything is lined up properly.
