A gift picture for Lonnie, aka ~Beerhorse. I liked the result from "Seasons Greetings" so much that I tried another Prismacolor picture. Actually, I'm proud of this picture in many ways, because it was drawn on Strathmore's Windpower paper, which means wind energy was used to produce it.

I think it scanned just OK. It seems to me there are a lot of details that were lost.

The idea for this kind of came out of the blue. Lonnie is going back to school to pursue art. I'm sure she can KO any obstacles that come her way :-) One of her favourite birds is the red tailed hawk, who can be seen giving some advice on the right hand side. Dalia listens as she eyes her unseen opponent.

I have a bunch of sketches, which I have dumped on my website ([link]). I really wanted this picture to be perfect, and it took a lot of time to get the pose just right (it's hard to find a good reference photo of women boxers!). Just when I thought it was done, I decided to change the background colour from a light blue to a darker blue.

Hehe, I like this. =D For some reason it reminds me of something I'd see in an animated movie. Not sure why.

But the expressions and body language are really good. I can almost tell what their personalities could be from that.

Great work. Keep it up!

Dalia looks like she's been around the ring a few times, like she's a veteran of many bouts.

Really awesome piece.

It looks great. She looks like she knows what she's doing and it only helps enforce the character as well.

Beautiful

Thanks! I'm glad the emotion came through so well. I'm still really fond of it so many months later.
