The Dance of Life Contest Entry

Category: Traditional Art

Artist:
Artwork Title: The Second Bardo
Description:
"Another trap is that of imposing a sexual interpretation. The dancing, playful flow of life is, in the most reverant sense, sexual. Forms merging, spinning together, reproducing. Eros in its countless manifestations... Sexual plots dominate his awareness, the flow fades, the mirror tarnishes, and he is rudely reborn as a confused, thinking being."
Blacklight psychedelic decoration.
Theme of 'Second Bardo' is of attachement to the sensual pleasures of the life ('Dance of life')

Not that fast, I just happened to have this painting that fits the topic very nicely. If you feel it is somehow 'cheating', just don't vote for me :)

"The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom." This is from William Blakes' THE PROVERBS OF HELL. Our experience is to engage the sensual life fully to learn of That Which Does (TAT TVAM ASI) beneath and within it. This has got to be one of the most moving religious icons we have ever beheld, the dark blues and purples, the greens and yellow-greens of the Shiva-like figure are quite accurate, as is the 'snake' (the kundalini beckons, the kundalini devours, the kundalini transforms and makes all things new)

I represent a group called the Outlands Community USA. We live with our fears diminishing every day in the unobstructed universe. Ask me about it!
