I was suggested to paint a woman drinking from a pretty cup... And, well, that's my interpretation of the theme. Now, what does this say about me?
Anyway, I always seem to paint full body figures, so I decided it's time to try doing a close up. It required a huge amount of patience from my side to paint all the details, but I think that it was all worth it in the end. This picture was mainly meant to be an "extreme realism" practice (especially in transparent fabrics, skintones and backgrounds), but I also wanted to share my, uhm, sense of humour with you guys
The painting was done from absolute scratch in Painter and Photoshop CS. No photos or whatever. The only references used (no strict ones) are ones for the old photos and the wallpaper. I have also done a lot of studying on the gowns from the beginning of XXth century, but what you see is purely my own, original design.
As for the story behind the artwork, I hope the painting manages to tell it clearly by itself.
stunning work as allways
(but with one little mistake .. the mandibula, near the end forms a sharp edge ... unless is a person with some weird malformed mandibula there is no way it could be like that)
i would love too see some images from the verry begining of the image because i'm amazed how you manage get the lighting so perfect (it was a pain for me to get it right for the MManson portrait and i was using a photo reference)
nice story too
amazing once again i can't wait to see what will you draw next
Lol, I LOVE it! Hehe, she had enough of her hubby then? This is amazing considering you have had no references. But then again, your paintings are always amazing

The guitar is a musical instrument with ancient roots that is used in a wide variety of musical styles. It typically has six strings, but four, seven, eight, ten, and twelve string guitars also exist.
`karemelancholia is one of the most genuine deviants you could ever met. Always active and a true deviantART cheerleader and supporter in every aspect. You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More
