PD4: Team Up

this week and I were paired together to create a design for this challenge.

I was excited to work with him because a) he's amazing and b) we both have similar tastes, so it wasn't going to be something that looked like a mishmashed idea.

after sending a few notes back and forth to each other, we decided to do something casual, since there hasn't really been an opportunity to showcase casualwear during the competition. we decided to do something tailored and menswear inspired. Recently, i've been obsessed with Newsies, so the idea of a halter top cut like a menswear vest came to me, and pairing it with a pair of tailored wideleg dark denim jeans just made sense...and it's perfect for fall, which is right around the corner! I feel that this design is a great combination of our two styles!

vest: tannish/camel colored lightweight wool (lined) with black leather piping, black silk back (see prelim sketches), white oxford cotton inset on bust
pants: wideleg dark denim trouser jeans, mid-rise
red patent leather belt
red patent leather pointy toed heels.
jacket: army green cotton, treated to be waterproof, trench style, tie at waist
brown leather gloves
