The Curiosity of 'Coons 4

Description

Raccoons are notorious for their curiosity and ingenuity. It helps them to survive in the wild, allowing them to overcome obstacles and find food in the strangest of places... like those big plastic and rubber cylinders we humans like to place it in outside. This curiosity also shows in many as a very social, friendly nature; when I move among the enclosures, I often find one or more following me, even clustering and reaching out to me if I get closer. We do have a handful that have become aggressive or shy and keep to themselves (one small litter in particular has become very insular), and this isn't a bad thing either, as it means they won't be approaching humans when they get older and are released back into the wild. Most of our more friendly raccoons will develop such tendencies themselves once they reach adulthood.

For more with these raccoons, see these videos here and here.
