drew this today in english class. I realized after staring at it for quite some time that it could be about all sorts of things. a lot of things. from anorexia, to hate for self-image, the task of putting on a face everday to hide it all.
this was supposed to be a project for a skeletal anatomy thing i had to do in art class but this came out. my english teacher thinks it is disturbing. my job here is done.
the left hand is holding a hairbrush and the right is holding a cigarette. it's hard to tell cause it's too dark.
That's very nifty. How'd you get that effect? The reddish brown blotches. It looks like a dry...somethin' or other print (what I'm doing in my art class). You scratch an image into plastic, smear ink over it, wipe off the excess and put it onto paper. That's what it looks like. Um...yeah.
thank you! i never bother to attempt drawing reflection ever but for some reason, it just came flowing out of my pencil and i managed to do it decent. your comment is very appreciated.
I think it's a very interesting image. You always see skeletons standing. I like that you see one lounging and with the skin so that you can sort of see how everything works. Maybe she has x-ray vision!
wow! i've never seen an anatomical drawing with so much personality, and i agree with lonelyplanetgirl's comment, too. i love the way her arms push back on the ground, it looks like such a natural pose to her. all the little details are amazing (the cross-eyed stuffed toy and toothpaste tube both made me smile).
