A beast, a horror
caged within me
created by your lovely lie
your warmth removed
it cries and bleeds
thrashes and fights
and howels with mad grief
it is a shadow
tearing with claws of dread
once so beautiful
once so grand
now ugly, painfull
damned

clamp down, hold tight
it craves hatered for it's meat
blood for wine
vengence
sometimes, when it hurts too much
the beast is fed
i hide away and cry in shame
and feed the beast to sleep

not often
less, less
bear the wrath of shattered glass
come a'live within my breast
slow starvation
no fear, no blood, no hope
untill the cage seems empty

such emptyness
no pain, no hope
no attempt or care

a ghost is left
made of memory
the visciousness is chased by stupor
memory of time past
clear as dust
as seen through this perfect glass
clear and clean and cracked
distorted not by rose love
black lust, blue loss, green hate
but by time and thought and theory
picked apart and left
jumbled ont he floor
perhaps to be rebuilt in later years

the cage is empty
scarrs remain
broken guilded cage
pain has fled the ravages of time
and time has lost its meaning
in depths of remembered pain
memories which once lit the dark
now shade hope

and in the guilded cage
left in wait of love or hate
on which to grow, revive
left in stasis
a beautiful piece
from a once beautiful beast

Mostly an non rhyming free-form trying-to-put-emotions-into-words. Writen in math class, inspired by the a line in Margret Weiss' first full length solo work "Mistress of Dragons" end of chapter 16.
