Suna Kirac Hall, Robert College

An ongoing tradition, the RC orchestra concerts have been the music department's annual chance to showcase its well-prepared talents to students, parents, administrators and alumni. The orchestra tries to play a variety of crowd-pleasing songs, with most of them tending either towards jazz/soft rock or mildly oriental/very Turkish when it comes to the genre. This year's concert lasted two hours interval inclusive and somehow the audience managed to bring the musicians back to the stage for the repeat of one of the songs.
Okay, so I'm still going to live events to get used to the action-reaction aspect of photography. This event was a challenge, though an easier one thanks to previous experiences in Suna Kirac Hall, mainly because the lights are: erratic, very dim at times, turn on and off with the beat for certain songs, colored. Now that's quite a list of things I've been learning to overcome This was also the first time they went on stage this time round (i.e. they have two more shows tomorrow and Saturday) so I'm guessing the show hasn't really "set in" yet... Still, it was action packed, fun and colorful. Kudos to everyone. Oh, and don't blame me for the lame titles: It's not my creative day.
The FCC has banned the upper part of this photograph from being shown on your monitors. Yes, they now have extended jurisdiction. What to say about this shot... It was taken from a balcony faar faar away from the stage with a telephoto lens. I used my knee and the seat in front of me as my tripod. Slowed the shutter down so I could get some light into the sensor and pressed the shutter button. Voila! I was going to make this a retro shot but I think this isn't too bad either. Better than most of the rest, anyway
First off, everyone here at deviantART would like to say THANK YOU!!! We have received an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm for the launch of version 6 and believe that this has been our best-received launch to date.
You might even be one hell of a profesional, but if you don't SHOW it and PROVE it, how will everyone know? These facts are important not only when you are looking for a job, but in any situation when you wish to showcase your work. I decided to share a few guidelines that might help you give the best of yourself and help you be a better profesional.
`karemelancholia is one of the most genuine deviants you could ever met. Always active and a true deviantART cheerleader and supporter in every aspect. You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More
