Most definitely a cool piece, so grats to you both. I feel like the color scheme is a little drab though. Maybe add in some purples along the lower edges to help break things up a bit.

I see a head (like a 'control brain' of sorts) near the middle, and it's taking control of this giant type of War of the Worlds kind of alien. That's what immediately popped into my mind when I saw it. It's wicked good.
