It's more a ninja sword than a samurai sword. It's not curved like a samurai sword XD

As far as I know, Samurai and Ninja use katana all the same.

Ninja used two types of swords - the ninja-tou which is a straight semi-long blade that was meant to be sheathed on your back (Like Ryu Hayabusa) and the Kodachi, which is a little longer than a dagger, but has a slight curve to it like a katana (like Kasumi's blade). XD
