FULL VIEW

I made this to prove that I could... this whole easter egg making process has been FRAUGHT with OBSTACLES.
You don't have to read the paragraph below.. I suppose it is pretty boring. I'll sum it up here: Making Easter eggs is annoying and time-consuming.


Ok, first I got an egg. No problem. Then I spent like two hours looking for a sewing kit so I could poke out holes with a needle. And even though I used to do embroidery and random sewing projects I could NOT find one in my room. I found a lot of other interesting stuff though, including.. uhh.. $490 o___O. So after I found a sewing kit I had to prick the holes in either end of the egg to blow the insides out. That was time-consuming. Too bad I'm not a trumpet player. And saliva makes the eggshell... expand or something. It's weird. Then after that I wanted the egg to have a base color other than white, so I had to find some white vinegar. In the process I found.. hummingbird food. In our pantry. WHAT THE HELL!? Then after I had a nice yellow egg (and yellow fingers, and a yellow cup, and a yellow kitchen counter etc) I had no idea what to paint on it. So I painted some ugly flowers on top surrounded by metallic gold trim (metallic gold acrylic paint courtesy of my sister). Then I was like, "~Pengwy what do I paint on this egg?" And he was like, "BUNNY! Because it's Easter!" But then I countered, "I'm not Christian! So I don't want to do that! BUT THEN WHY AM I MAKING THIS EGG!? Oh boy oh boy." So I stuck with what I knew and painted a brown horse with gouache paints. That only covered one half of the egg though. Then I got the brilliant idea to make MORE fanart for *ox-of-ice and turned the brown horse into Caline. By luck, I had left the correct legs blank for her white socks. I used gold glitter paint for her hair (courtesy of my sister). Then I was a dumbass and dropped the egg on to the egg holder and thus the top is now cracked. That was really upsetting. Then I painted Ecume. I made his torso too long and dripped water on his back leg so it looks bad. I also painted him lower on the egg than Caline. Also, the black paint tube exploded when I tried to squeeze some out for Ecume. Then I didn't have silver glitter for his hair and I wanted him to match Caline, so I used glittery nail polish. Lots of it (courtesy of my sister). Poor Ecume. Then I put some random leaves on the bottom because I had squeezed out green paint and I didn't want to not use it. Oh man. All in all this thing took me... five hours? More or less. I started before lunch, which was four. Then I got so caught up in the search for a needle I just skipped lunch. Bleh. I have a major headache now.

And then taking pictures of it was also hell. Curvature! Can't take in whole picture at once! Sucky lighting! Overexposure! Oh boy oh boy oh boy. And then of course, what category does this belong under? There is an Easter egg contest but that is filling out an oval template, not actual eggs. I debated between Culinary Arts, here, and some other places but settled on here. Hopefully it is the right place. There is no Holidays 2006 category. Oh well, this really isn't celebrating Easter anyway, it just happens to be on an egg.

I hope it doesn't start smelling.. I washed out the inside as best I could.

ox, I hope you don't mind that I'm keeping this. I'm too lazy and cheap to mail it out, I'd really like to keep it because it started out as a personal thing... and besides it's already cracked. Who knows what might happen to it with a trip through the mail.
