Okay, a trade with . Since I knew nothing about this character, I had to go look him up on Google.Images. After wading through innumerable German and Spanish(?) fansites, I found one in broken English that described the character's past and personality.

So this Marik Ishtar is Egyptian and one day he gets REALLY bloody angry and turns evil (and acquires some cliche anime bangs too - his pre-evilness hair rocked). He kicks ass in a card game and the people he defeats go into the *checks notes* "Shadow Realm" (represented by the purple clouds!), which is kinda harsh for losing at gin-rummy IMHO. He has this axe... scepter... thingie that he smites people with or something and that glowy eye on his forehead symbolizes his evilness. :nod:

I took major artistic licence with this, mostly out of ignorance. C'est la vie! Had loads of fun designing his costume though! :)

Marik Ishtar is no doubt the intellectual property of someone... I just don't know who - help me out here? :confused:

The name sounds Sumerian in origin, comstume reminds me of Gilgamesh meets Egypt...good stuff to be had there! Although the purple clouds could be interpreted as some rather foul nether gasses, lol.

he's from Yu-Gi-Oh. i don't know who owns that... also, i think this is the character that has ancient egyptian prophecies or some sort of instruction manual carved into his back by his father. and the evil is posession, by a long dead ancient grave-robber. i ahven't seen YGO in years, but i remeber it being preeeetti f'ed up...
and since Marik/Malik whatever is so angsty, he has a thousand squeaky middleschool fangirls. lotsa fun.

but that is an adorably cute leetle evil guy : )

Oh yeah, at first I wanted to do his back with all the heiroglyphs on it, but it didn't have much animation potential. :/ Never seen that show, I must be too old! *creaks as she reaches for her walker*

Heeee...I don;t know what that is from, but it is really cute. I love how the purple and yellow work so well. :heart:
