Artist's Comments

I remember the exact moment, I walked down those stairs to the rocks and found myself a rock where I sat for over an hour. Many people took in this sunset with a lover, with a friend, or just with their family. I took it in with the sound of waves pounding the rocks before me, occasionally receiving a mist from every seventh wave.

I was bathed in orange sunlight, and tranquility which I hope to pass along through this capture of a moment in my life.
A moment spent in Manarola, looking west over Cinque Terre, Italia.

This picture has it all, all the things I wish I could do with my camera... The contrast, the lighting of the sea and the clouds, the way the sun looks like it has set the sky on fire, the silhouette of the mountains, their stark cragginess seeming almost alien.

You got to be up early for these. Beautiful picture.

This is quite astounding. Now I would LOVE to see a view like that. The orange contrasts brilliantly with the rest of the shot, and as if glow of the setting sun isn't enough, the clouds give it that extra special something. It really illuminates the shot and just gives the whole piece a dream-like feel..
Well done.

This is breathtaking. The colours reflected onto the clouds are just gorgeous, they give the image such depth. And the way the sun looks like it's just peeking over the land. So beautiful. Absolutely wonderful.

This photo was definitely the better choice. The crop is really nice, the colours are gorgeous and the gradient of the rays works. Very nice.

You really do have a gift with sunsets. I love that the sun is on the left side, and the cliffs/bluffs/pseudo-mountains are framing the whole thing and leading the eye around the photo. The sun is the elemental object, but yet the cliff thingies do all the talking. Good work! +fav.
