Full view please. It's a big one but worth it for the detail.
The Sorrian Song. I'm very impressed with this drawing. This took me about seven hours to color and a whole day to draw. I really put the effort into this and it has paid off. Thagirion and Sorath are dueting together their beautiful song. What do these two sound like when the talk or sing? Well Thagirion's black metal and Sorath is Death metal. What song would they be singing? Try Graveworm's Abhorrence. [link] I've had this idea since before I even created Thagirion or Sorath. Anytime I heard a song with both black and death vocals I imagined a thin decrepit monster and a muscular monster singing together. The image finally became clearer and I created Thagirion first. Later I realized his death back up vocals were Sorath's. This is easily my favorite drawing to date. You can really tell how Sorath's unusual jaw structure works in this view. The two are having a great time.

Hi Des. I'm away. I just finished reading Innocence Lost. Do you know that feeling that is holding you tight when you read a good book, and the satisfaction after you have finished it? Well, that's how I feel now. And from the point when Caroline was assasinated to where John Frink slaughtered Owen (+ the end) it was pure adrenaline! No fancy words, but just a pleasure to read!

I don't think I should insist on each thing I liked, cuz it's tons of it. Starting with (where I left) the Science Trivia Contest, then continuing with the Frink-Owen-Caroline triangle at the Springfield U Campus, the pleasant way the two got in love, the way you blended it together with the Simpsons' world. Max the kid. And the brilliant dark end. I don't even need to mention it. You know I enjoyed it.

And yes, it all lives up to its title and intro. John is shaped by the circumstances. To me, he's grown up in the last months of the story as much as he didn't do in 35 years. He lost the innocence... and much more... Owen, he lost for the second and final time to John Frink. I really like the way you killed him. If I wouldn't like Owen so much, I would almost say he disserved it. At some point, I actually thought both would make it. But Owen Marsh HAS to be the jerk. The bird "threatment" and then John simply punching a hole through him with his gun. I just love that scene.

As for the alternative ending... it's INSANE! I WANT MORE! Des, please write more! But I have a few suggestions if I may for this story you have begun. Please see it as constructive criticism. I know It's a new story with a different orientation. But it's like a balance of Frink-Owen. If you tip over one of them the whole balance will come down. Don't kill Frink yet at least. Let the action progress.. perhaps before Owen gets his fire you can make John plan a more thought at attempt to assasinate him. Pour some more cruelty in the story and let Owen have a last minute escape badly injured. The plotline of Scorpio and John could somehow go on. And Mixing Flare Ent. inbetween. You'll figure it out. Don't kill ALL your characters :D Still I like it the way it is too!

Nooooow!!!....I say this artwork is really beautiful, and from how good it looks I see you put some serious effort in making it. The shaded egyptian-like neckpiece Sorath is wearing, the way you drawn Thagirion, I mean the shading and coloring. Plus that the head came out really great. Knowing the story, now I understand Thagirion's odd anatomy. His beautiful wings. The black shiny star. We spoke about this before. All of it, it's just PERFECT.
As far as I get it, the message is that good and evil go hand-in-hand. I belive that too. And now thinking, both the sun god and the boss demon are creatures of fire. Just a thought...

I remember having heard these names in Therion's lyrics. The strange words sparked a flame in my mind years ago. If you remember well, this is how I found you. But my fascination for "the other Gods" whether fictional or historic is much older. (Note: I found some information before on Thagirion, wikipedia, even though what I read didn't sound like English at the first glance... now I sorta' decyphered that article. As for poor Sorath... my searches revealed nothing on topic at all. Bad luck or just bad Yahoo?) As for my own religious beliefs, I am theist agnostic - Respecting all, worshipping none in particular (not even the christian stuff). I think that is an advantage in keeping a open mind and for having a balanced perspective over life. What's your point of view?

Des, you're a goldmine. I can't belive all the good stuff you make.
This message is way too long. But I can't help myself. I need many words to get my point across :)
