Ok, I admit it, I'm a dog person. Bud is my constant companion and way up the list of things that mean a lot to me. [The Girl knows enough not to ask who's number one...] Bud's daily job is to protect the river that borders our property from Satan's army of ducks and squirrels. This he does with the dedication of a palace guard, a duty that almost always involves getting wet and sandy. I caught Bud on watch for a second attack after a chasing a flock of ducks downriver. He never catches them, and the same ducks come back everyday, so I'm not sure who enjoys the routine more.
I know what you mean about dogs .... faithful, true, loyal. etc. etc. etc. I am a dog person myself and you have captured Bud so well. My springer spaniel (Bandit - yeah not very original lol) was the same way. He would even chase a cat. Corner them and look back at me as if to say "OK, now what ... ? ... but would never dream of injuring them. Sorry cat people out there but give me a dog anytime ........ Well done on a wonderful photograph

Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.

He looks like a fine faithful companion.
He is lucky to have you.
And you are also lucky to have him.
Very nice.
