Artist's Comments

Make haste my friend, the rain is coming.

I'm still working on this actually, tweaking and changing and going on and on, so this is not really true to the original image file (which right now is about 156 MB heavy! :XD: )

From the beginning it was a chestnut actually, but though he was pretty that way, I think a bay suited the dark mood of the image better.

I'm pretty satisfied with the anatomy, which I owe to the ref pic. But, I feel I need to trim it a bit more, background things mostly. If anyone has any thoughts/ideas/crit, do please tell. :D

Reference pic comes from *TheYawningHorse [link]

EDIT : I've read and taken it in! *grin* Here's a new version, less "chunky" I hope. And it's a bit brighter, as I noticed that on pc screens it looks horribly dark. Also added a watermark, and greyed the signature a bit - though I prefer to have my signature very 'there' - on prints it does of course not look as such with watremarks andthat signature, but have an actual signature. Yeah, that's right, you can order prints from me! *grin*

I just love how you do the background, it always looks so realistic :faint:. That's a very beautiful horse btw and yes it definitely fits more into this pic then a chestnut.

Mia,
I like capture both of the motion and the approaching storm.
The bright white signature clashes with the dark portrait. You might try moving it lower or changing it from white to grey. (I fully respect the artist's need to protect the work, but like to see it done as artistically as the rest of the picture.)

His outter flank looks a little to lumpy to me, but I could be wrong. His stomach looks to low as well, but I like everything else. It looks really good. Better than what I could do. ;)
