DeviantART…

Amendment I

will not prohibit freedom of speech.  All deviations will be allowed as long as no individual’s or animal’s freedom was infringed in the artistic process.

Amendment II

will allow deviants to criticize staff and policies and will provide a specific forum for doing so.

Amendment III

will not ban deviants for actions not specifically listed in the Excessively Deviant Behavior Reference Chart.  All accused deviants will be given the option for a public hearing.

Amendment IV

will in no circumstances move deviations to scraps.  If DA considers the deviation to be incorrectly categorized they will move the deviation to the correct category.  If DA feels the deviations violated some individual’s or some animal’s freedom in the artistic process then DA may remove the deviations as long as specific reasons are given.  Public polls will be held in contested cases.

Amendment V

will never lock forum threads.  If a thread is started in the wrong category then admins will be allowed to move threads to the correct category.  Individuals engaging in behavior that is specifically in violation of the Excessively Deviant Behavior Reference Chart will be given a public warning that sites the behavior violation.  If the individual continues to violate the policy then the individual will be banned from commenting in that thread.

Amendment VI

will provide a Deviant Justice section where public hearings will be held.  DA will provide a 200 word (or less) accusation and the accused deviant will be allowed a 200 word (or less) defense.  Voting will be held to determine whether or not the deviant is guilty as accused.  All deviants will have one vote and the voting will last 3 days.  Deviants will be allowed to leave and view comments before voting.  After those 3 days if the accused is found guilty then the deviant will serve the corresponding punishment for the crime and if the deviant is found not guilty then DA will provide the deviant with either a free 2 week subscription or a free print of the deviant’s choice.

Amendment VII

will allow all deviants one vote per deviation to decide, on a scale of 0 to 10, how much mature content they feel a deviation contains.  Deviants will then be able to customize a mature content filter on a scale of 0 to 10 to reflect their sensibilities.  Deviants will also have the freedom to filter out any particular type of art they do not wish to see.  In order to protect minors, age verification will be required in order to decrease the filter strength enough to see deviations that contain a significant amount of mature content.

Amendment VIII

will never force deviants to see something they do not wish to see (DDs or similar features).  DeviantART will allow community members the choice to enable or disable such features.

Amendment IX

will recognize that minors use this site and will allow deviants to mature content rate banner ads as well as deviations.  Age verification will be required in order to decrease the filter strength enough to see deviations and banner ads that contain a significant amount of mature content.

Amendment X

will be transparent in all financial aspects and will be accountable to the community for all actions taken.
1 voice is easy to silence, but to silence many voices you have to lock a lot of threads and ban a lot of deviants. Our voices should say, “The community is for the artists”.

Whenever I make a suggestion that DA make some changes a large percentage of deviants respond with the idea that DA is a privately owned company and it can do whatever it wants. While this just may be their method of attacking my argument without having to provide any valid counterpoints it still empowers and enables DA to do whatever it wants. At our expense.

As members of the community we deserve rights. We contribute our art to DeviantART and DA would be nothing without our contribution. Therefore I’m proposing that the members of the community work together and develop a DA Bill of Rights.

A DA Bill of Rights will provide us with maximum protection and maximum freedom.

I encourage each and every one of you to support the DA Bill of Rights concept. You can offer your support by creating your own Bill of Rights and submitting it as a deviation or adding other deviant’s Bill of Rights to your favorites. Please feel free to modify my Bill of Rights to fit your views on the rights we should have and submit it as your own deviation.

At this point I’m not asking for DA to implement a Bill of Rights, at this point I’m asking the community to become civically minded and start thinking about rights we deserve and should have. The first step is actually recognizing that we deserve rights and the second step is convincing DA that the rights we deserve should be protected. So far from what I’ve seen of this community the first step will be by far the hardest… but please prove me wrong.

lol man you ain't crazy this is a website, not a country, the muthafuckas who own that website do whatever they like, it's like that. Shit, i'm glad i'm not planning on creating a community, cuz communities are quite annoying, even if that one is quite nice, you always get troubles.
