Fun drawing, I gotta admit.

This is my entry for this month's Anthro Challenge Contest, and the theme is A Spark of Color. I like that there were limits to what I could do. I wasnt allowed to use outlines, I couldnt shade, change any opacities, and the only colors I could use were the five in the top corner. I hope I do well, I havent entered a contest in a while.

For the :iconanthrochallenge: July contest: "A Spark of Color" [link]

The rules: No shades, gradients, or lineart. We are allowed one background color, but we can only use the palate provided. I hope I followed all the rules.
Hope everyone had an explosive 4th (if you're in America).
Last canine post for a while, I promise

Comments and feedback appreciated more than favs. Just because I don't draw much fan art any more it's like everyone disappeared :D

I am entering :iconthe-daroach-fc:'s contest. This is my entry, called Surf's Up. Yes, I know I didn't do the best job on Daraoch, I don't draw him that often. Wish me luck~!

The inspiration: Well....it is summer right now. And summer can be REALLY HOT. So where would I go? The beach. Yup, that's how I picked the inspiration (kind of weird I know)

In this contest, we had a certain colour palette we were allowed to use, along with one background colour (I chose black)

Soooo, I went for a more minimalist approach for my entry, I always thought my character Moriko had a 'spark' of colour with the red streak on her head among a relatively normal kind of colours, hence the red bit on her head XD The purple 'glow' round her is to just make her stand out a bit from the background since it's all black XD She isn't black really, it's just the whole background is, other than her outline, so it kinda makes her look like I coloured her black, when I didn't. Imagine her more like a ghost I guess?
Anyway, it was a lot of fun & I'm glad I took part, even if I don't get anywhere with it :3

I love how this came out  the anatomy is just like YAY! Drawing anthro-Moriko was different, I like how she looks ^.^ I'm thinking of colouring her with her actual colours at a later date, but for now, have this kind of scraper board-esk picture :3

There are so many things I wished I could've done for this piece...and may still. Shading, gradients, darker linework, but....the challenge was to do the piece with this limited color palette, no gradients, no shading and no blackline. :iconanthrochallenge: puts out monthly contests and July's is to do a piece themed "A Spark of color" with the aforementioned challenges attached. Honestly? The biggest challenge was coming up with an idea I could work with.
Thanks for watching!

I don't if multiple entries are allowed or not, but I was "struck by the idea of this piece and thought it could be a cool addition to the gallery even if it's not qualified for a prize. I did a larger version where there are purple clouds around him and you can see the rock he's standing on, but I'm afraid with that much size, you kind of lost the fun details of his face and body, so I cut it down to about one third the size the image was. I don't know how apparent the "meaning" of the picture is, but it's about looking for a "spark" of inspiration. you can see the lightning (that's lightning btw) striking his colorful paintbrush as he is inspired to paint. Obviously this is for the contest [link]

My entry for :iconanthrochallenge:#anthrochallenge's July 2013 contest, "A Spark of Color." This little white fox magician is working to bring color to an otherwise black and white world. It's so black and white that it doesn't even have any gray in it! But surely the magics he has invoked will change that soon.

I had fun working on this picture. It was interesting only being given a limited color palette and not being allowed to use any outlines or shading. I think it came out pretty well.
