:iconanthrocommunity: is hosting a monthly contest. This month celebrates Mother's Day with the theme "A Mother's Love". The group looks cool and with only a few days left to enter I thought Why not...I like deadlines. Was going to go more beak faced anthro, but it's real hard to convey happiness with a beak....lol
Thanks for watching!

This month has mother's day in it so here is a mother cat cleaning her kitten after the big mess he made. No matter how bad you are, a good mother seems to still love you and take care of you, even if you ruin her nice dress with paint.

This is for the Anthro Challenge #95.

I inked this with micron pens. This is 8.5x11in.

When this month's Anthro Challenge was announced, one trait that immediately came to my mind was how mother alligators protect their young. I feel like I read somewhere they even keep the young in their mouth sometimes... you would think that it would be dangerous, but it's really just a way to fiercely protect them! I thought that was interesting. I also loved the opportunity to draw a reptile. I don't do that much, but they're fun!

For the Mother's Day Contest for :iconanthrochallenge: . From left to right Frill, Sarah, and Joe.

Sarah Husky, is the mother figure in story. Joe lives with her and is like a son to her. Frill and his brother, Till, have no dealings with their mother, so Sarah took both of them up as her own. Frill spends most of the day with Sarah when he's not hanging around with Joe.

Lots of animals have great caring parents, and the kids have little to worry about thanks to the protection of their mothers.

This is where pelicans are different. Siblings will often kick each other out of the nest so that the bossy ones can have all the food. The ones who get shoved out are pretty much doomed to a quick death on the ground, since of course they're just babies. Even the mothers will no longer acknowledge them.

That's the situation of this little pelican here. It looks like she can walk thanks to her stature, but we never know where the lack of a mother might take her.

also since the original drawing was huge and I had to size it down a lot to make it comprehensible here's what the pelican looks like up close if you're curious. [link]

So, this seemed to take forever. I'm not very good at clothing, or backgrounds, especially not all in photoshop. I've got to work on that. I tried to stick true tot he colors and style of the art in the movie, and I hope I did. But this is actually for the Anthro Challenge #95. I was finally truly inspired to draw something for one of their challenges.

These are the three main characters of Ōkami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki (The Wolf Children Ame and Yuki). I just couldn't help but think of this when considering a mother's love. Hana is a human who falls in love with a wolf man, and when he dies in a tragic accident, she puts up with the harshest ordeals to raise her two wolf children all by herself, having no knowledge of such a thing, going so far as to move out of the city to the middle of nowhere in the mountains, rehabilitating a dilapidated house, and starting a small farm of their own. She loves her children more than anything else and is just such an amazing mother, that I thought she deserved a mention in celebration of Mother's Day.
