He was not where he thought he’d be. He was splayed out on his back, his head resting on some kind of cushion. A bleak shade of grime-covered silver ran the length of the ceiling overhead. The smell of crude oils and grease burned his nose. He blinked three times. He was still there.
Part of him expected him to be insane; trading the environment he thought he’d wake up in for some form of illusion. He squinted at the pipes and the wires in the rafters on the ceiling. Thoughts formed and broke apart in his mind; none of it made sense aside from two words, repeated endlessly by an imaginary voice.
Yeah, that seems about right.

It was an odd place, nothing like what I was used to. Maars and I had grown up in a sterile laboratory, cramped and white all over. This place was all sorts of colors. Soft green grass under my feet, a single dust-brown road that connected all the properties together, silver metal fences and gates, clay-colored buildings. And there weren’t any houses, not really. Tiny shops with added in houses, Maars guessed from the shape of the buildings themselves.
We’d hidden in a field of tomato plants besides a closed cafe. Leading up to the cafe was an expanse of gravel-like sand and parking spots, along with a cute little gazebo half painted white to the side. After that was a wooden bridge that extended over an artificial pond, with fat koi fish swimming happily in it. The cafe part itself was exposed to the elements, save a flat roof that covered the entire top area.
As we cautiously explored our surroundings, Maars had pointed something out to me on t

By the year 3099, all the members of Bravo-21 are aging, and in various positions of power in the UGF. They still keep close contact with each other, however, as their adventures several years ago forged them into close friends. During the first Cascon Incursion, Bravo-21 was one of the many hastily-organized strike teams that opposed Cascon forces wherever they could.
Col. Alexander Smith
A human commander, Col. Smith was the leader of Strike Team Bravo-21. He’s a tough, gruff military man with no room in his life for nonsense. But there’s no denying he’s a noble man with a hero’s heart. He has an Olympian foster daughter named Agatha who had lived in an orphanage that was under threat from an invading force of Cascon. Strike Team Bravo-21 with a detachment of human troops managed to hold the Cascon off until the children could be evacuated. After the event, Col. Smith adopted the Olym

Kurrel Crocodile Chapter 7Kurrel and the rest of the gang walked across the grassy plains, the group having decided yesterday that they would leave town the following morning, and so now they headed off. Kurrel still hadn't yet figured where else they could go to rest up where N. Sanity's troops wouldn't find them, but for now they just walked and chatted with one another.Kurrel Crocodile Chapter 76 days ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
“So Kurrel,” Jack asked as the group kept walking. “What kinds of things did you do in your life before we met?”
“Well,” Kurrel said. “There was that time when Cthulhu showed up in my world and caused chaos everywhere. Fake Discord and I fought him for a while, but Cthulhu and us decided we couldn't beat each other, so we let Cthulhu do his thing.”
“Oh yes,” Fake Discord said with a smile. “I just enjoyed all the chaos and destruction Cthulhu caused.”
“You guys fought Cthulhu?” Driskull asked in surprise. “Didn't you guys go crazy from his presence?
Bionicle: Strangers in a Strange LandThe Toa strode through the tall grasses of the new world. Xiatan stood seven feet tall, adorned with armour of royal purple and deep black. He was an intricate figure of cogs and pistons, held together by rope-like muscles and steel-hard armour, topped with a intricately carved metal mask. He was a stranger in this living, natural world, and it was obvious.Bionicle: Strangers in a Strange Land1 week ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Xiatan knelt down to see a small creature making its way through the grass across his path. It was a pale brown spider, maybe a foot across. "I haven't seen one of these before," he said to himself. When he reached a hand out to investigate, it extended a number of razor-edged spines from its skin, surprising him. His mask emitted a violet haze as he instinctively activated his mask power.
On his face he wore the Kanohi Konomau, the Great Mask of Biomechanics. It allowed him a degree of control over systems both purely mechanical and those with organic components, which included everything in Xiatan's homeland. Unfortunately, the wi

The way the words were expelled from her mouth, it would put in the mind of any listener the image of someone spitting out a particularly foul tasting morsel. Perhaps the sour, stale taste of a cherry pit after savoring the rich texture of its flesh. Not that those who were present to listen to her words were in the right mindset to ponder such analogies, as they knelt under the watchful blades of the city guard. Today was a day for an introspection of a different kind, a very mortal kind.
She turned from the wreckage of the now destroyed printing press, the once cheery glow of its fabricator bay now a sparking ruined mess of curdling inks and fractal dull matter. The woman, more terrible avatar than any sort of flesh and blood soul in the mindseye of those that cowered at her feet, was dressed for conquest. Riveted leather armour inlaid with intricate scroll work, each line of which was a victory or commendation that spoke the chapter and verse of her r

“It's just not fair.” Marcus scowled into the drink that he slowly swirled around in his glass. The potent amber liquid left lingering fingers on the walls, speaking only the whispered promise of temporary and intoxicating release.
“I know.” Hal leaned back in his chair, regarding his despondent brother with a sad smile. He tossed back the rest of his glass, swallowing the last mouthful of brandy and letting the slow burn fill his body with a short-lived glow of warmth and comfort.
The two of them sat alone as the sole remaining patrons of the bar on a cold and lonely All Spirit's Eve. The shutters on the windows clattered and clanked as the gusting northwest winds swept sparkling lunarous powder down from the mountains and into Calypsa. Nearly everyone else in Anduruna would be enjoying a happy and comfortable holiday with friends and family.
Hal raised his empty glass into the air and shook it a little bit, getting the attention of the b
Serpent's Academy: The Other SideAway on her honeymoon with Adrian, Atanis had left Jossun to be in charge of the school and surveying the group this time. Jossun always insisted that everyone eat breakfast before training- and he would mean an entire course meal. In his home in Germany, he was used to his own chefs preparing the food for his underground army. Here in Serpent's Academy was no exception that everyone started their day with a full meal, only to make it for themselves.Serpent's Academy: The Other Side1 week ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Otto and Ambrosia worked as a team in this case. Kraven... no one was sure if he was a lost cause in the kitchen or if it was just his feline instinct; he occasionally devoured raw meat. Calypso prepared her own simple meal, consisting of fruits and certain meat.
Jossun sat at the table with the group. "Now, everyone should know that I'm not your typical trainer. I've been in the military service for over sixty years- but I expect you all to have fun. But- you're all stuck in that session until you give it your best. No breaks or treats un

Ratakh himself was taller than Y'tuwai - at least from a physical standpoin - though he lacked the muscular build and skin tone - an aftershock of mental capacity raised at the price of physical stamina thought Ratakh - His complexion was rather frail compared to that of Y’tuwai. EditAs I was standing there, awaiting my execution, I remembered Mr. Trevino's computer class. I don't know what other people think about when they're waiting to be executed, but I'll bet it is not their computer class from when they were twelve. But I did have a reason - Mr. Trevino's class had started me on this path. Whatever happened to Mr. Trevino anyway? Does he watch the news? Does he remember I was in his class? How does he feel about watching a former student be executed? Does he also feel like a complete failure?Edit1 day ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

Appearance: Short, spiky white hair in a ponytail. Blood red eyes. 5’11 tall. Before her merging with black sun, she had black hair and blue eyes.
Black Sun Fragment: Anger, Hatred
Personality: Calm on the battlefield, prone to anger outbursts anywhere else. Very sympathetic to those she cares about. Very dependent on others for help and support.
Weapons: Quad retractable blades, two extend from her arms, the other two extend from her legs. Thus, her fighting style is very acrobatic and quick. She can also shoot the two blades in her arms out of their sockets at incredible speeds, however, they are attached to the suit by a thin line, which pulls the blade back into its socket, allowing her to do moves reminiscent of scorpion from Mortal Kombat. Each blade is hidden in the arm until it extends (it extends when the person wants it to, as the suit is connected to the user’s brain), as the blades are made with a special liquid metal that hardens into a b

“In a month, the Convention of International Commerce will be coming together,” Gresham announced to his recruits, still fighting to catch their breath from a particularly brutal conditioning session. They had gathered in a haphazard lump in front of their superior. He was not happy with them. They had disappointed him again. “The president will be there. The success of this meeting will be pivotal for the future of this country. So, chances are the Conscience will want to show up too to tear everything apart.” He crossed his arms. “You must be ready by then. You have to have gotten a hold of yourselves, and you have to either have captured Kepler beforehand, or know how to take him down in seconds. Understand? No more breaking down. No more losing control.”

She tried her best to control her breathing, but she was so exhausted; her lungs burned and her head pulsed. She heard footsteps echo in the room, and she looked for somewhere to run, but found she was at a dead end; nothing but the door she came through and two windows. She would have tried the windows, but they were barred; and who knows how far she had gone up after all those steps. She closed her eyes, hoping the clacking of its shoes on the tile would fade into the distance; but it didn’t fade, or get closer for that matter, it simply stopped.
The room was so silent she could practically hear her own heartbeat. She wanted to open

I ran over to Terence with tears forming in my eyes. Why would he get himself killed for me. I loved him I didn't want to lose him. “Terence a
