Aaron stumbled into his apartment, throwing his book bag on the ground before slumping on the couch. What a week! He was just glad that classes were over for the week, and he could spend the next two days just relaxing. He turned on the TV before searching through the channels, before coming on a rather familiar movie, Planet 51. Aaron remembered this movie from a couple years ago, where a human crash-lands on an alien planet that thinks he is an invader. It was an alright movie, sure, but in Aaron’s mind didn’t do anything special. He did like the concept of the role reversal in that regard, however.
“Man, how cool would it be if we actually encountered aliens,” Aaron chuckled, lying back as he watched the movie. However, he didn’t realize a burning orb fall out of the sky outside his window before he felt a shake underneath him as it crashed into the street nearby.
“Whoa!!” Aaron gasped, fal

The police officer blew on his coffee as he idly watched the rather shabbily dressed man approaching him from across the road.
"Can I help you sir?" he asked as he took a sip of his coffee.
"Yes a couple of things," the man said as he stopped in front of him, "Actually three to be completely accurate. One can you tell me which way it is to Evil Scientist's castle, secondly" he suddenly stepped forward and pulled the officer's gun from his holster and quickly stepped out of his reach before pointing it at himself. "Step aside from your motorcycle or I'll shoot myself, bit of a waste seeing as I've only just got this body but still I'd rather shoot me than you."
"Just stay calm sir and give me.."
"No officer I really need your bike, my friends lives depend on it!" The Doctor said firmly, "Now give me the keys. Please" he added as he held his left han

"Commander Barratt," said the Galactic President, as she returned to the screen, "Do you still believe that you employed the right tactics?!"
"Miss President, Captain Mandarin was given orders to capture and destroy Captain MacTaggart. Both objectives she failed to achieve, and so she failed in her duty to the Federation!"
"What?!" Mandarin protested, "You traitor!" However, her protests were lost as the President spoke again.
"You started well. Your initial attack on Captain MacTaggart in the Sirius System was a success. However, you underestimated her power; a fatal flaw in your strategy, which you-and you alone-must take responsibility for! Commander, look at this!"
"This is when we were reconstructing our base on Darwin IV. You led Captain MacTaggart, en-route to the Sorados Beta System, into the Corona Asteroid Belt. But then
200 Writing Challenge Day 82- EchoesIt had been a long day for Simon, ending with a swan dive from the window only to be saved by his shadow, and he barely had enough energy to react to the scene that he was met with. He could see the faint purple glow of scrawl on the walls, similar to those he saw...no, no connection, not even going to think about that. Simon decided instead to focus on the guest so he would not start accusing people of forcing him to do swan dives.200 Writing Challenge Day 82- Echoes5 hours ago in Introductions & Chapters
“Hello there, what is your name?” Simon asked, trying his best to look anywhere but the symbols.
“Oh, it’s Jess, sir. Are you Timothy and Luke’s parents?” Jess asked, looking between Simon and Mary.
Mary’s face then proceeded to light up red and she started sputtering about how this was not the case, Simon put his hand on her shoulder in hopes to make her quiet down, however this only made her even more incoherent, which brought Simon both confusion and amusement.
“I can assure you tha
Crucible - Part 1No one knew exactly who started the war. Some blamed the Christians and the Muslims, others said it was the fault of the Arabs and the Israelis. Many thought it was the U.S. and China flexing their muscle. Since there was no clear instigator, everyone blamed their favorite bogeyman. Later evidence suggested it was in fact the work of numerous groups, including nation-states, terrorists, and 'hacktivists' taking advantage of situations; a 'perfect storm' of events enabled by ancient enmities, real and perceived injustices, profiteering opportunists selling anything to anyone, and a general feeling within the populace of powerlessness to do anything about it.Crucible - Part 110 hours ago in Introductions & Chapters
In the end, it didn't really matter.
The backpack nukes (or Improvised Nuclear Devices) that went off in Berlin, Moscow, and Hong Kong killed hundreds of thousands. Their yield was small by modern standards (only a few kilotons) but they were detonated in the most densely populated parts of the cities d

My name is Kevin. I lived in Chicago, in an apartment. The year was 2215. Technology was advanced and extremely intelligent. We had intergalactic space travel... But one day, the military detected a aircraft hovering above our planet. We observed it for hours. But then suddenly, the aircraft hovered lower and lower to the ground. It then landed in Washington. Thousands of troops and Striders were sent to where it had landed. There were hundreds of Striders and troops surrounding the aircraft. Then, a hatch opened in the aircraft. 3 Figures stepped out of the aircraft. They held strange weapons. Weapons that looked more advanced than ours. One of them had robes around them. Then, they walked back in the aircraft, and the hatch closed. Then suddenly, it hovered up, and fired at the military. After that, smaller versions of this aircraft were flying over the city, killing any human it saw on sight. Sirens were going off. Total evacuation of the Earth was made. Spaceships were placed all a

The Stellar Federation battlecruiser Oshan Akuma had failed once again to defeat Captain Jaws MacTaggart and the crew of the pirate cruiser Stellar Typhoon on the planet Santa Granada. Angered by this latest in a long string of failures, the Galactic President had summoned both Commander Barratt and Captain Mandarin back to Earth, for trial and execution...
Earth of 3009 A.D. had changed very little from that of the distant past. Following the Stellar Exodus of 2100 A.D, much of the population had left the Earth to wade out into the oceans of space, and relatively few now remained on Earth to make any great difference to the home world of humanity as we know it. However, it was still the most important planet
