You sat at your desk facing your computer,(eye c) eyes scanning web pages for something that maybe, just maybe, might put you in a good mood.
You brush your (hair c) bangs out of your eyes and rest your face on your hand, sighing all the while.
Your day had been going great up until now. In the morning your dad made you breasfast consisting of (various foods), and in the afternoon you went to see a movie with your friend (___).
You smile to yourself, knowing you are alone, and, quietly, you mutter out loud
" if only life were really like that..."
"if only life was just like in the movie-"
But before you could complete your sentence, your dad's voice, which was quite loud boomed through the house; He was yelling at the tv. He was louder than usual, due to the fact that he was drunk once again.
You hated when he was like this, and went out of your way to avoid him at all costs.
All was quiet again, but you waited a moment before you continued.

"Veh~! Fratello, aren't you nervous about tomorrow?" Feliciano asked his elder twin.
"No, I don't give a damn about it. It's just school, don't be such a cry-baby about it. After all, it's our last year of high school," said Romano from the kitchen whilst standing infront of a giant pot of boiling water. They may have been twins but they were polar opposites. Romano was the more angrier and aggresive twin while Feliciano was the more carefree and wimpier one. The only physical differences they had were the curls on the sides of their heads. Feliciano's was on the left and Romano's was on the right.
"Veh~! We're gonna to be the new guys! Doesn't it make you a little nervous?"
Romano sighed and stopped what he was doing in the kitchen to go over and sit by his brother. "I know you are afraid of being accepted but your personality makes easy for people to like you so, stop being fucking afraid. Okay?"
Feliciano looked at his brother, he rarely make any nice com

Arun stared at the small piece of paper in his hands that he had found taped to the door of Skye's bedroom. Barely knowing anything about the English written language, Arun struggled with the words for a few minutes.
"Going... on a...." Arun paused at the next word, unsure of how to pronounce it, "Be.. back... later."
The burgundy-haired boy brought the note close to his face and focused directly on the word that he had skipped.
"Dah-tee?" Arun guessed. He repeated the word a few times out loud before he realized what it was.
"Date!!" He exclaimed.
He paused for a moment, and the happiness of accomplishing his goal of reading the note quickly faded into dread.
"Wait, that means you're gone for the day??" Arun gasped and the note slipped from his hands.
He dashed back into the television room where he and the other mermen slept. The small boy snatched up another piece of paper that was on the bed.
"So you're ALL leaving me then??" Arun complained as he read the note again that was writt

Come on, Aubrey's breathy voice whispered in the dark, its no big deal. What little space between them was then taken away when Aubrey closed the distance between the two of them; body against body, the only physical barrier between them the flimsy material of their clothes.
"Of course it's no big deal," Gabriel muttered back, echoing the other boy's sentiments, although his pounding heart said otherwise. He felt silly being the only one freaking out about the little game, while Aubrey, "as cool as a cucumber," didn't seem to care at all.
Nothing ever seemed like a big deal to Aubrey. His cool, calculating sky blue eyes always caught everything that went on around him without any sort of reaction. In a crowd, his gaze might pass over you, maybe even look at you if you were lucky, but he never really looked directly into your eyes. And when he wasnt looking at anything in partic

The wind snaps through me, chilling my insides to the core as my arms instinctively reach to shield myself from the cold. That is until I feel him, his touch, and his arms around me. His scent enters my nose as I inhale it, savoring its spicy sweet never wanting to forget. Raven black hair trickles into my peripheral vision as I feel his lips peck the start of my jaw line. I cannot help but smile as I lean into him, missing his touch greatly to the point that my entire being longs for it once again.
"Sebastian " I murmur, "I missed you "
He chuckles under his breath, "I know, my Ciel. I missed you too."
"Then why did you leave?" I ask quietly, never wanting him to leave me, or at least never let go, "Why would you "

You and Jack pause, locked in your embrace.
Footsteps began to come closer
The voice echoed from across the hall.
Jack looked up, arms dropping from yours
"Is that...your mom?"
"(First-name)? Who are you talking to?"
You quickly raise your head and turn it towards the door frame, which was now outlined by the hall way light on the other side.
Your heart began to beat as fast as a drum when you heard your mothers voice coming closer.
You look down to your lap, and raise a finger to your lips, biting it.
Your voice lowered to a whisper.
"How did she-..."
Jack stood up from the bed and brushed his eyes with his sleeve. His eyes were still moist from tears.
"Whats the big deal?"
Your eyebrows furrow in frustration as you looked up at the boy. You struggled to keep your voice low.

Setting: our time, actual time, currently the time and space era we inhabit this very moment. Or, as some may call it of this very moment 2011.
"Young master," I call softly, knocking on his door with my knuckles careful to make the sound loud enough to notify him but not awaken him.
I shove the door open, allowing it to swing open into the newest home he's purchased- a large townhouse in London decorated like his first home hundreds of years ago. Early light spills into the room illuminating his dark blue walls, light carpets, nice oak furniture and elegant empty canopy bed.
Hurriedly I set the tea set I've carried in with me onto his nightstand, the second the fine China is safe I reach forward to the mangled covers, making a slight mess as I rummage through them. Out of habit I quickly make the bed marking one place already searched before dropping to my hands and knees, peering under the bed, "Young master?" I call out to the dust bunnies a

5am. You got up, got ready, and left for school. 10th grade was probably the worst thing that had ever happened to you, and you hated getting up every morning just to attend school. Winter Break was over and it was time for a new semester. Things were boring, the work was tiring, and you didn't really have any close friends to talk to. You knew a lot of people, but they weren't really close friends.
After the bell rang, you attended your 1st period, which was English. That class was always boring, in your opinion. With nothing but reading and writing left to do, you never cared for English. You sat in your seat, 2nd to last in the back, and your teacher, Mr. Caldwell, began his speech.
"Hello students! Welcome back. I hope everyone's break was fun and exciting." He was shuffling through some papers. "Since it's a new semester, we're going to be trying something new. Yes, we're still going to write Response to Literature essays and Summaries, but we're going to be doing writi

Summer school had already begun for the day, but the teacher was running late, leaving all the students sitting in their desks, bored and nothing better to do. Skye, of course, never looked forward to summer school, but now that he had company waiting for him at home, he hated it even more. People were chatting with their neighbors, but Skye simply waited gloomily in his desk. He happened to glance over at the boy sitting next to him.
It was Asher, a quiet boy. He was completely lost in a book, he only paused once to adjust his thick-lensed glasses. It was the book that caught Skye's attention.
"Mystical Creatures," was written across the book, and also featured an image of a muscular troll of some sort that looked like it belonged in a fantasy video game. Skye wasn't surprised that Asher was reading something like that. Skye didn't know the guy too well, but he knew enough that he was the kind of guy who was interested in comic books and video games, basically anything revolving aroun

Skye gradually woke up. He blinked a few times, adjusting to the light. After glancing at his digital alarm clock, he realized he had slept in to almost noon. Skye wasn't surprised, Cyan and him had stayed out pretty late last night. Luckily for him, it was the weekend and he didn't have to worry about summer school.
The spot beside him was empty as usual. Cyan always had to have his early morning laps.
"Where does all that energy come from?" Skye thought as he massaged his aching shoulder. Besides being very fit, Skye still felt exhausted from last night.
Skye stumbled to the kitchen and prepared a glass of orange juice for himself. He opened the sliding window above the sink that gave a view of the backyard pool.
"Hey, Cyan, what do you want for breakfast?" He called. Skye received no response. The young blond stared out into his backyard through the window, his sleepy brain slowly processing what was happening. The pool was empty.
Skye dropped his glass and it fell into the sink, ca

He didn't even think twice that it would probably hurt you, but you never blamed him. You never brought it up because you knew he only meant well. You just couldn't tell how to react to this anymore.
So, you did what a true friend does. You supported him through it all, especially with tips on what he should get her for her birthday, and where he should take her out on dates. On the same beach from yesterday, Skye and Cyan decided to walk along the shore the next morning.
"I'm sorry that it took me so long," Cyan explained, "Staying in shallow water for a long time is difficult. The water is always moving, its hard to stay in one place."
Skye nodded his head. He still had trouble believing that they were so unlucky. The reason they could not be reunited sooner was because they happened to not be at the beach at the same time, despite how often Skye visited. They simply had just kept missing each other. The surfer wished he had camped out on the beach, but he knew that would bring too much attention to himself.
"Sometimes I would cling to the legs of the pier," Cyan continued, "especially when I needed to sleep at night."
Skye turned to face Cyan, his eyes wide in disbelief.
"All night?" Skye asked.
"No, only for a few hours," Cyan admitted.
Skye was still impressed.

"He's so quiet...." Cyan thought as he fidgeted nervously. He hated the awkward silence.
Skye was nearly done when Cyan noticed that Skye's arm was bleeding as well.
"Oh, this?" Skye explained as if it were nothing, "I just cut it on some glass."
"Let me wash it for you." Cyan offered, but Skye stood up.
"I'll do it myself," He turned towards the bathroom, but Cyan grabbed Skye's arm.
"Let me do it," Cyan begged. Skye gave in and removed his ruined pajama shirt.
"He's feeling guilty," Cyan thought as he poured water from a bottle onto a rag and gently dabbed Skye's arm. He kept glancing up at Skye to make sure it wasn't causing him pain, but his expression never changed. Once all the blood was cleaned off of his skin, Cyan began to clumsily apply bandages to his arm. Fortunately, he managed to finish and gave Skye's arm a loving caress.
"Do you remember my promise?"

Walking hand in hand, Skye and Cyan returned from their date at the aquarium. As they approached the antique shop, they spotted Nagisa and Zain walking towards them from the opposite direction. Skye and Cyan were dressed in their winter clothes, but Nagisa and Zain mysteriously had hints of sunburn across their skin. Once they reached the front door of the shop, they froze in place as the realization hit them.
"You were...." Cyan began.

All four of them entered the shop, expecting the worst. Fortunately, the shop was just as they had left it. Gwen smiled at them from behind the register and greeted them as they entered.
"Eh? Did you two go to a tanning salon?" Gwen said incredulously at the two mermen.
"Uh..." Nagisa couldn't even think of an excuse, for he didn't even know what a tanning salon was.
All four of them were much too concerned about the state of the upper levels to give Gwen a proper answer. As the climbed up the stairs, with Skye in the le

Skye somehow survived Gwen's angry rant from earlier when he and the four other boys waltzed into the antique shop. The two cousins eventually made a deal; the boys would have to work if they wanted to stay. Skye told her that they were going to be guests temporarily, but he had no idea how he was going to find the courage to kick them out. He wished that they were uber annoying or mean, so that he would not feel so guilty with wanting them to leave. However, besides Arun and Cyan's occasional fighting, they were mostly innocent and childlike. Especially Nagisa, who acted like a shy little girl, just as much as he looked it. And, of course, Cyan had to stay, no matter how angry Gwen got.
The next day (after the long and uncomfortable night of sharing a bed with four boys), Skye and the mermen began to work at the antique shop downstairs. The young blond was just about to get them started on unloading a box, when his cousin walked in and stopped him. Gwen pulled him away from the others

"Where did those three boys go?" Gwen asked just as Skye and Cyan were at the front door of the shop, ready to leave.
"Uh... they went home..." Skye lied, although it was partly true. He didn't make eye contact with his cousin so that she might assume he was too busy to talk.
"Home? But you told me they were homeless." Gwen continued to ask and one of her eyebrows rose in puzzlement.
"They bought a new home," Skye gave his cousin a poor lie, and Cyan turned away from Gwen to hide his unease.
"Surely not from the money they got from working from me! I barely paid them anything! They barely EARNED anything," Gwen brought her hands to her hips.
"They've been saving up...." Skye scratched the back of his head nervously.
Gwen went silent, and Skye began to believe that his lies didn't work. She eventually sighed and Skye braced himself for more questions.
"And just when they were starting to get the hang of it too," she said sadly.
Cyan breathed a sigh of relief and smiled quickly at Skye.

It was the end of summer, so Cayucos was packed with tourists who wanted to see the beach one last time before returning to school and jobs. Children were dashing around, giggling happily, and their families closely followed behind. On this particular street, by the beach, were various places to pick up snacks such as ice cream, and other interesting and unique shops that sold crafts and antiques.

It was early in the morning, the sun was not even out in the sky yet. In the dark, Zain attempted to put on his shoes. Without light he could not manage to tie his shoelaces, so he left them unlaced. He did not grab a bag or anything, all he needed was the clothes on his back. The pale merman stared out the window and wondered how many hours of darkness he had left. He could see a sea gull flying in the sky; he didn't have much time.
"Mnnh...." Arun groaned as he woke up from his deep sleep.
"Why is he awake? I was being silent!" Zain thought. He watched as the young merman rubbed his sleepy eyes, and decided not to panic.
"Zain, are you up?" Arun mumbled as he saw the dark silhouette that was Zain.
"Can you get me another blanket? I'm cold..." Arun asked. He still looked like he would fall back to sleep at any second.
Zain reached for a folded blanket on the couch, and walked over to Arun to hand him the blanket. Judging by his footsteps, Arun could tell Zain had shoes on.
