She checked her watch. Three minutes late, but she wasn’t going to show it.
Once the doors opened, she put on a friendly, yet competent smile.
“Welcome to Little Garden.”
She led the Vice President of Verizon and his two associates. Nami made sure they got the best service on the plane to Costa Rica, the best seats on the ferry and the monorail, the best rooms in the hotel, she even sprung for a female escort to be in the VP’s room; a little something to curry his favor.
She had done this a hundred times before. She was a businesswoman, it was in her blood. She always knew the end result. If Verizon agreed to sponsor th

What should have been snow, was really ash and dust from debris floating in the soft wind. It was bizarre to think that just this morning was a warm and sunny day. It now felt as if it was below twenty degrees. Buildings were now just pathetic piles of rubble and people were nowhere in sight. The only sound was the whistling wind and the soft patter of tiny footsteps along the ruined cobble roads.

Earlier that day, that terribly fated day that was just like five years ago, humanity’s greatest enemy attacked yet again. Barging into the wall as if it was made of paper, beast entered the cities, raging about and causing the defenseless human to run and hide in the next wall. Many a soldier came to help; yet so many had died from the attempt to say every life. They thought that everyone had made it safe to the next wall but they were wrong. You knew how wrong they were.

"Isn't it a beautiful day out in the park today? Almost as beautiful as those ears." Said Damien, petting Tangy's ears.

Damien stared at Tangy in shock. He said nothing.
"There, that's more like it." Said Tangy, feeling relieved that Damien had finally stopped touching her. "Now, I want you to take me back to the town square."
"But we just-" Damien was interrupted.
"Take me back. RIGHT. NOW!!!" Tangy screamed. "Or you're in for another scratch!" She stuck out her claws and glared at Damien.

A single fly buzzed its way around the sun-lit chapel. Nobody moved; nobody said a word. This was not the time to swat after pests that weren’t there to cause any intentional harm. Instead, they remained still, eyes clamped shut and hands folded in prayer as the ebony casket before them was sealed for the final time. There would be no grave-side service.
Those in attendance began to filter out one by one and exit the cramped chapel, entering instead the church’s lobby, warmed by the sunlight that poured in from the windows and sky lights. The room was practically constructed entirely from glass, and colorful ribbons danced across the floor as tree branches rustling in the wind sent shadows across the tinted panes.
Almost everyone had left the chapel, but one family remained in front of the casket, silently wiping away their tears. McKenna stood there, looking not at the wooden box before her, but instead up at her parents. She’d never seen them like this bef

Sarah leads Bauer to the chamber inside what once was the stained glass window. Alexander follows up from a short distance.
The chamber stretches to a labyrinth-like series of hallways with walls formed by caskets. Bauer looks around and saw what appeared to be people sleeping inside the caskets.
As they walked further into the depths, Bauer asked "What exactly are these people?"
Sarah replied in a soft voice "Manifestation of the memories that guilty people had left behind after receiving their judgment at the stroke of midnight."
Sarah pointed to one casket "These memories will generate a nearly-perfect facsimile of the judged called a "Manifest" for as long as their judgment has not been completed." and then, she pointed to another that is right next to it "Sometimes, it is not the exact copy because the person is most likely envisioning a what-if scenario before they die or their memories become tainted.

The little girl opened her eyes quickly. A sound had woken her up, and she looked around in attempt to spot it. She tilted her head as she listened intently in the dark room, then saw the shadow of her twin brother who had dropped from his top bunk onto the floor.
"Jules, what are you doing?" She asked.
"I heard voices." Jules said, shaking his pink hair out of his face and looking at his near-identical twin with his golden eyes.
"Do you think Evangeline's here?" Faye asked, looking at him with her own matching yellow eyes.
"Maybe," he said. "Get up! Let's go look~" He smiled at her as she got out of bed, nervously playing with the hems of her sleeves on her nightdress

Dark figures in a dimly lit room. He suspected that they were unaware that he could see them. Short hair and pristine white lab coats. They all looked the same.
A soft voice from one of the figures. He couldn’t hear properly and the words became fragmented in his mind. What were they talking about?
Clearer words. The rustling of paper and the scribbling of pens. One of the figures stepped closer. Close enough for him to see that it was a woman.
“At least he’s stable”, she said and he heard her with perfect clarity.
She shook her head and turned sharply, lab coat billowing in the sudden rush of air generated by her movements. He stared at her back through an orange film of gelatinous fluid.
“Do you think he suspects anything?” She asked stiffly.

After the discussion with the antyer, as we were interrupted by the child I believed dead, I was dismissed and invited to follow the kid. I did so, and he took me to some sort of cafeteria, where we ate and I wrote up the event of the morning. Then came this afternoon and I finally learned what was going on around here.
As we ate, I got many looks from other insects around (I should say yer, but it's not as if they'll ever read my journal right?... do they even know how to read?)
Then once we were done, and I put away my journal, the kid told me to follow him again. He seemed healthy, though annoyed, and he complained about playing errand boy more than anything.
He led me down the tree, walking along edges and road like platforms, crossing so many insects that I couldn't even try to identify... I could hear them sp

Lord Erin sighed and turned away from Larken. A glimmer of pity danced slowly through Erin's black eyes as he looked up at Anise from his chair. He sighed once more, then ran his fingers through his hair.

Fabio was a performer, and the battlefield his stage. Poised and ready to take part in this display of horror, his co-star stood at the other end of the stadium. The Lopunny gracefully circled the arena, keeping his jaw locked and his legs limber, and Fabio followed suit. He took to an easy gait and danced around the skirt of the grass field. The Delcatty chided himself to smile for his audience—a beaming young girl shifting her weight from foot to foot, and an older boy, technically a man, whose dark circles and disappearing jawline betrayed the emotions beneath his gaudy floral print shirt.
The command echoed from the other side of the field. “Derrick, Dizzy Punch!”
Fabio grimaced. He really didn’t want to know the name of his opponent. It was too late to dwell on the matter, however, as the Lopunny came dashing across the arena, easily crossing the stadium’s liquid centerpiece and swiftly cl

There was one girl that caught my eye. Her visage wasn’t visible, but her long, wispy curls the color of a raven’s wing floated in the wind hazily. Katy Carter had been nervous before, but this was a whole new level of apprehension as she rang the doorbell, wondering what was going to happen next. As she stood there, in her green jacket, white blouse and grey skirt, she was beginning to wonder what she had started.
“Oh – it’s Katherine Carter isn’t it,” Edith said as she opened the door, “what can I do for you?”
“My mother asked me to come and see Countess de Ros before I went home tonight,” she said quietly as she twisted round, “to collect some things?”
“Of course – come away in,” Edith said as she opened the door, “I will let her know you are here.”
As Katy walked in, she looked round the large hallway, taking in the decor as Edith disappeared through a door.
“If you will come this way,” Edith said as she returned, indicating the door she had come back through.

Firefight stormed through the burning apartment building, carrying two unconscious victims on each shoulder. Up ahead, Wrench and Rope were finding a safe path, using fire extinguishers to clear the flames away briefly.
“How are you holding back there, Firefight?” shouted Wrench.
“Wonderful.” He grumbled. “Would you like to trade?”
“Trade?” Wrench laughed. “Nah, I’m busy!”
Firefight motioned up ahead. “The doorway’s blocked by flames.”
“I’m on it!” Rope blasted the remainder of his fire extinguisher out in front of them, shrouding the vicinity in a white cloud of mist. The flames subsided slightly, allowing Firefight and the others to exit the building.
Outside, Hydrant was spraying water on the building with the high-pressurized hose on their fire truck. As soon as the three of them exited the building,

Sister's Mourn (chapter 1)As soon as I walked into the corner tavern, somewhere on Tamalsi street, my nostrils flared at the smell of cigarettes and an odd mixture of perfumes. It was hazy with smoke from all sides and it would have burned my eyes if I weren’t used to it. From the back of the room where I was standing I could hardly make out the stage. As I slowly wove my way to a table in the corner of the room, I felt like I was in a dream. Just like in any club, cafe, inn, or tavern, I felt a sense of new identity. I sat down and set down my bag next to me. A waitress came and clanked down a glass of ice water without so much as a look. That was mostly why I came here anyway. Though, there were no menus on the table that I could see. I sighed and sat back.
