Seen Chap 1Inside the walls of a small human home lived a similarly small borrower family. They were the last ones to stay in this home. All the others had moved on to other homes for different reasons. The borrower family was caring, and loving just like any other, but still their son Jacomo felt lonely. Often comparing himself to the human child growing up in the home. Over the years he learned the ways of being a Borrower. His father a good teacher, and his mother always supportive. It was the man's job to go out, and borrow. His mother stayed in the home they had made. It resembled the human's home with chairs, tables, and beds. Still everything had it's own little differences. Their library was small, but made of miniature books. Still they were quite cumbersome, but easier to read than the full versions. The beds were stuffed with mostly cottonballs, and the sheets were sewn t

Upon entering he hung up his borrowing gear, and brought his borrowings into the kitchen. It was just some sugar, salt, and some more oil. Not much, but had to be gathered on a regular basis. His parents greeted him home. His mom coming up to him, and hugging him. Jacomo was already nearly a head taller than his mother, and almost as tall as his dad.
“I'm always so proud of my little boy. You've grown up so fast.” His mother said warmly.
“Mom, I've been doing this for a while now.” He sighed. Her actions were still appreciated, but this was so common place. He felt bad that she still worried each time he was out.
“I thought I heard somebean get up.” She loosened her hug looking up to her son.
“Mom, it was fine.” He

TWENTY-ONE GUN SALUTE
Nelson's funeral was conducted back home in Scapa Flow, and as per tradition, the best ships in the world were sunk facing West, the direction of the dazzling ocean sunsets. Sinking was our equivalent to a human's burial, the best we can do. The entire company of my fleet came to the funeral, and many looked down to the sea, and said nothing in respected silence. Olympic was against my starboard side, with Hood waiting against her. Wilhelm was a little farther over on port, sharing the sea with Arizona. King George and Ajax kept Queen Elizabeth company, where she quietly sobbed. Either she was doing it to get on my sympathetic side, or actually had liked my son. The rest of the fleet spanned out a mile, all silent.
I finally gathered my wits about me, and said "Apart from death, we must try to recall the memories had during life. Nelson did not have the years he should of, but for the time he li

Sheldon had come early from working off of him.He entered the Aura Base, with a strong feeling of exhaustion. He went to his room and plopped on his bed. Shutting his eyes, he wished to be younger once again. He sighed as he drifted off to sleep.
He didn’t have any trouble worrying about his son or his baby daughter. He had his wife, friends, parents, and siblings to look after them, including some other friends and younger friends he saw as sons or daughters to him and even other family members.
It was Napoleon, Vincent, Rupert, and Ross from Elisa’s home, not too far away. She and his trainer, Caitlin, both lived next door to each other, so it wasn’t hard for the boys to bring the kids back home.
Sheldon suddenly awoke from a horrifying nightmare of his mother’s death. He took a few deep breathes to collect his thoughts, he rose out of his bed and hurried towards Jenna’s farm. He wanted to be sure his kids were alright. He f

The sun drifted towards the west as Ynn dashed along the sands to the south. Bit by bit, the sand changed in color from orange to white. The further south they travelled, the clearer the sky became as clouds drifted away. The distant, eastern sea grew closer and more visible. The sand dunes were steadilly replaced by small mountains The scent of saltwater drifted over the land. Kiwatu could hear waves crashing on the shore. The winds slowly died down, becoming almost dormant.
"Is all of this the Gallant Cove? It looks more like a beach. Maybe the cove is a bit further south. Go faster, Ynn!"
The two kept travelling south until the waves grew much louder. The sparkling sand no longer burned the bottoms of Ynn's feet. The cloudless sky was perfectly reflected off the great blue sea. Kiwatu had never seen a body of water so big before. The mountains formed a great, thick wall along the western side. High up above, Kiwatu could see trees and other plantlife. It was easilly a hundred-foot c

Zeke turned away from the tv to look over his shoulder toward the other room. He saw Kane poke his head in the doorway awaiting an answer to his question. The blonde just smirked as he turned back to the screen.
“Of course it’s good! The others were so why wouldn’t this one be good?”
“Well I haven’t seen the others so how would I know?”
The man on the couch spun around towards the doorway where Kane was, but he had disappeared back in the room.
“How have you never seen a comic movie? Have you been living under a rock?”
“I wouldn’t say under a rock per say,” Kane stated, a little sarcastically.
Zeke smiled as he saw the angel walk into the living room with a large bowl full of popcorn and plop down on the couch next to him. He handed to bowl to the blonde, who sat it on his leg and shoved a handful of popcorn into his mouth.
“So what’s this one again?”

Another night of rest brought with it another dream.
The ninth giant was incredibly pleased with herself; she had perfected her puppet design. It was a young girl, with an almost life-like quality. The puppet was given an emblem on her forehead, as a sign that she was a friend to the giants.
The ninth giant commanded her puppet to go out to the domains of the other giants. The puppet was to dance and play before them. The giants liked the puppet, and they all gathered together beneath the mountains to the north to watch it dance. While they were distracted, the ninth giant went out to the unwitting mortals...
Everything went black as the ninth giant swooped down.
Kiwatu woke up bright and early the next day. He hunted down a fish from the closest river he could find. After cooking and eating the fish, he woke up Ynn, and the two travelled off towards the Temple of Mguvu. As the sun rose, Kiwatu was able to spot the towers of the temple, and they made their way towards it.

The time dragged on as we waited for Freddy, Chica, and Bonita to show up. It was already four-thirty and a crowd of people had gathered outside of the entrance to the back of the school. I fixed my red bowtie and smoothed down my black vest. The purple top I had on underneath was slightly calming, but I could feel my nerves building up as the seconds passed. I looked over to Foxy who leaned against the wall his arms crossed over his chest. His loose leather jacket hung over the bright red shirt in a colorful contrast, with the addition of the black dress pants. Jacob, on the other hand, was in a formal suit with ruffled top and slick black pants and jacket. He pulled at the ruffles with a frown, probably wanting to rip them off. It had been fun getting ready with both of them as we, being guys, sat around until the last second before actually getting ready. Even then, I didn’t expect the girls in the Limo to pull up five minutes before the door would open. I l

Kiwatu and Ynn travelled for a night and day to the south. They stopped only to eat and bathe. They barely slept; Kiwatu wanted to get as far away form Motondege's mountain as fast as possible. During their travels, Kiwatu found that they passed through the outer edge of the Drasil Forest. He dreaded running into Mibwitu again. But after travelling beneath the giant trees, he saw neither hide nor hair of the lupine giant.
Where did she go? Kiwatu wondered. He shuddered as he recalled their last encounter. Then again, I don't want to know.
Kiwatu and Ynn kept going to the south. Over time, the titanic trees were steadilly replaced by normal ones. By the second morning of travelling, they had finally passed through the Drasil forest, to the Usaha Swamp.
Most of the swamp's ground was blanketed by wide tracks of thick water. The countless cypress trees were surrounded by a murky fog. Narrow pathways of grass and dirt zigzagged through the swamp. Hazy green moss covered most of the trees'

The smell of hospitals was something Jerrold was sure he would never get used to. Passing through the hallways filled with closed wooden doors and the same colored white walls over and over again, it wouldn’t have been a real surprise to him if someone had come over to tell him that he had gotten lost on his way to the maternity ward part of the hospital. Everything looked the same to him, apart from the changing names and numbers painted on the doors and on the little signs hung on the walls of the hallways.
Watching the medical staff of multiple doctors and nurses walking by him, Jerrold didn’t bother to stop anyone to ask if he was actually going to the right way. He wasn’t exactly in a hurry, sure he was dying to see his wife finally and the child she had finally brought into the real world, but he knew that there was no real rush, everything would be there waiting for him when he finally decided to find his way into the ri

In the blackness, a great, white light appeared in the distance. The light shaped itself into a giant being, sitting atop a throne made of light. The giant had no face, nor did it resemble any of the giants Kiwatu had seen before. The giant slowly brought its hands together, creating a giant orb of light. The light shined of every color Kiwatu could imagine, and several he hadn't before. The giant cast the orb out into the abyss. The orb flew high into the sky, where it soon exploded. Light shined down in all directions, creating hundreds of smaller forms of light. The lights landed on the "floor" of the abyss around the giant. The lights changed shape forming into copies of the giant, only Kiwatu's size.
The lights looked to the giant, and bowed down to it. T

"Hi, Page," she smiled.
"Looking for a place to eat?" I asked her.
"Kind of. I was going to be in the library studying for a test but turns out the test isn't until next week and the lunch line is too long to get anything now so...."
I noticed her hands were empty.
"Want to share my food?" I ventured. "My uncle Steven always makes too much food so I have a bunch of leftovers. Nothing really fancy but..."
Cara stared at me and her smiled widened. "Sure, thanks Page, that would be great!"
We continued up to the roof. A high iron fence surrounded the edge of the roof and broke up the view of the downtown skyscrapers. A few groups of people had already taken up benches scattered around the roof so Cara and I found a spot to sit up against the fence. I divvied up my lunch between the two of us and Cara kept thanking me for it. Eventually, we got off the topic of food.

My mother's tears darken the collar of my shirt. She wipes her cheeks as she reluctantly releases the motherly embrace. "You be good now, okay?" She instructs me, trying to look strong, but her tear-stained cheeks and constant sniffing saying otherwise. “Study hard.”
The bus carrying my suitcase leaves the stop. The musty smell of petrol and greenhouse gases would usually make me have a hysterical (and quite comical) coughing fit, but today, I'm not in the mood to put up a scene.
"I will, mother." I say, directing my attention to my younger sister. "You'll be fine without me, Ria?" Ria nods erratically, her brown hair jumping, as she holds back tears. “If anyone bullies you, just give me a call and your big bro will come and smash ‘em alright?”
She jumps on me, hugging me close. "Don't leave, Caelum." She says as her tears begin to escape her eyes. "Why can't the real world wait? Why can’t you stay here with me in

Kiwatu panicked as he was sealed into darkness yet again. Malkamba pinned him to the roof of her ridged maw. Her tongue pressed against his face, licking him allover. He was covered allover with globs of saliva.
"I must say, you taste very good, little mortal." The giant chuckled around him. Kiwatu struggled against her tongue, trying to push it away. This only served to garner another chuckled. "Oh, you're a fighter, are you? That's adorable!"
Malkamba suddenly opened her maw wide, Kiwatu fell down onto the tongue, his back slapping against the wet muscle. Water flowed between the jaws, splashing against Kiwatu and sending him sliding towards the throat. He struggled to grasp onto something, his chest heaving as he slid further and further towards the throat. But before he passed over the threshhold, Malkamba tilted her head forwards, sending him sliding back to the top of her tongue. She pinned him against the back of her lower fangs, continuing to taste his face.

CHAPTER 7 - Lie, confess or flee?
The dinner was going smoothly for the few remaining hotel guests, so much so that the three were eating in the great hall, almost silent, rather than in a private room. Jonathan was the quietest the two vampires had ever seen. The only odd thing (excluding everything strange that could be in a hotel for monsters to which the human was accustomed to) was the sticky and almost overly amorous attitude that Mavis had towards the boy.
Obviously Jonathan was not annoyed by Mavis' attention who caressed her head on his shoulder or stroked his hair, the only drawback was a grumpy Drac, who seemed quiet sitting in front of the couple, but the human sensed his aura of jealousy which, although well hidden, seemed ready to explode at any moment.
"M... Mavy? What are you doing tonight? You've

The hour was now well into the next day and Vane Lobby was exhausted, but knowing that Rudolph’s schedule was completely full except for this moment, he must take the opportunity to get all the information he possibly could before returning to sleep.
The air was a bit colder than it had been in previous days and Rudolph was sure the cold front was coming from the west. Or down from the north, but definitely from the west. Wind could be heard whistling against the window, and the haunting echo of a dying instrument, the darkness of two in the morning, and the overall chill from the west caused Vane to flinch when Rudolph dropped the teacup.
