Nuclear - Prolouge Two hundred years ago, a great war had broken out between Japan and the USA, long story short, both sides ended up losing, Russia took advantage of our weakness and nuked both of us, basically destroying both. Now all that remained was six cities and a bunch of towns scattered around what used to be the USA. The USA also couldn't keep a stable government after that, so the six cities ended up belonging to different factions. The first city and second cities became the property of the URC, or the United Refugee Confederacy. The URC was made up of refugees who thought they could protect themselves better than the actual military could, although their thought of 'better' was killing those who bumped into an officer and rationing a few pieces of food every few months. The third and fourth cities were owned by the UCA, the United Cities of America, yeah, they're still trying to keep America alive. It had the basic laws, although if you brought a gun, you had better have aNuclear - Prolouge 2 hours ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

My first thought when reading the flier shoved under my nose was, “Heck no.” It did not sound appealing in the least. A resort (Iru whined) full of all kinds of cool new chimera and the like! I had ignored him for a long time.
I had work to do.
Lots of busy work.
Busy work that required me to ignore not-so-fun-sounding things like a trip to the Badlands.
Obviously Iru managed to whine me into it though. Since, you know, I am here now. My work load had seemed to lessen to such a point that a small vacation did not sound too bad or out of the question. Iru was ecstatic when I told him we would be able to go. Had even picked out our Chimera companion that would accompany us—one of the Meers. I had quickly dismissed THAT idea, claiming Centi our (at that time) newest addition was much more likely to enjoy the heat and surely we shouldn’t neglect him?
Iru had folded easily. Aibu was not happy about any of it.
Quite displeased that she wo

"That's why my tails were wrapped around you, too..." The wolf blushed.
"Right," the angel replied awkwardly. "Well, we'd better get going before it gets hot." He grabbed his bow and bracelet.
Byriis gave him an odd look as she sat up.

The eleven-year-old blond boy walked in shorts and sandals, often removing his footwear when he slept. He liked letting the wind gently tickle him, and when he lay down at night, the wolves always snuggled up to the boy and kept him warm.
On this particular morning, the wolves were feeling a little playful. The biggest of the three nudged the boy’s sandals out from under his feet and began licking playfully at the boy’s soft soles. Anders started giggling, his little toes squirming in response.
“Hehehehehehehehehe!” he giggled, his laughter quiet, gentle and polite. As he giggled, the Wolf wagged her tail. The other two wolves wagged their tails happily, standing up and smiling. They both poked their noses into Anders’s armpits and licked around. Their noses were wet and cold, and it seem

Max Rockatansky awoke, and the world around him was a blur. He found his head inches away from the blazing hot asphalt, his body suspended off of a prison contraption. His mouth was locked into a metal plating, bars surrounding his face, leaving only enough room for his eyes to veer through. He struggled in the shackles, but was quickly smacked by a barbed wire fueled plank of wood. A pasty soldier walked close to his ear, and slightly twitched, the black paint dripping down his eyes.
"There's no escaping this road." the War-Boy whispered in a hushed tone. He quickly lifted some glittery spray paint to his lips, and tinted his chapped and slit lips with hints of gold. Letting out a euphoric scream, the soldier wheeled Max upwards

I was coming in from some outdoor activity that my mother never approved of – sea fishing, or hiking up the mountain for plants, or climbing trees and catching monkeys for soup; I could climb higher than the boys, being smaller and thinner than all of them. There was a general air of festive excitement – it must have been Midsummer – and my mother, seeing me enter the kitchen through the back door, immediately turned off the gas cooker and grabbed my wrist, steering me into her bedroom – the only room with a mirror – and sat me down in front of it.
"Dana!" she shouted, "Come here for a moment."

It was a warm late summer day in the Granite River valley. Though still bright, an orange dusk was already creeping into the edges of the sky at six-thirty. The Granite River itself wound through the greenest part of the valley, cutting deep into its flat bottom. Next to the river was a shady strip of asphalt road, occupied by only one car belonging to a young woman named Lana James. She drove with the windows down and her hair, long and yellow and very odd-looking even in her world, tied into a loose ponytail and blowing violently about her head. Her radio was set to a rock station called the Caffeinated Sloth; the words from the news segment were barely audible over the rush of air from outside, but becoming steadily clearer as Lana slowed to turn into Rogers Park, where she walked every day. She wasn't paying much attention until she heard a familiar na

"Greetings." I said, and it smiled. I found myself staring into a mouth filled with two rows of sharp teeth, and hastily added: "Oh great one!" To compliment it. The beast lowered its head towards me and asked:
"Not going to run? Are you sick?" I was not sick, though I was beginning to feel the urge to run. But would I get far?
"I am not sick, and while I would like to run I feel that doing so would serve no purpose if you wish me harm. Do you need something?" I inquired.
"Excellent! I am indeed in search of a meal, when I smelled your scent. I am curious to discover how you taste. Can you fly? Are you injured?" The beast asked.
"I am not injured, and I certainly do not wish to become so!" I replied immediately. "However, I am certain

The Afterlife: Chapter 18: Stone ColdI was stuck in a cacoon of stone and blackness, unable to move, unable to speak, unable to see, and unable to feel around against the cold rock. It had perfectly melded around my figure at the time of transformation, like as if I had looked into the eyes of Medusa herself. the only thing I could do was hope the venom that continue to send shocks of pain across my body would kill me soon, but I was starting to realize that I wasn't as fortunate. If I could cry right now, I would be: I denied the reality that I've come to accept as Equestria, and for doing so, I was stone solid, dying slowly, with no way to deter the pain that felt too real not to be. His eyes were big and his legs were stumpy. His shell was as hard as a rock, and he always seemed to wander around with a big grin on his face. But he was also quite active. For a turtle, he was surprisingly fast, which tended to create a bit of mayhem for the unthinking toddler.
But, one day, his bout of energy landed him on his back, after he decided to jump from the coffee table. Granted, it was only a drop of about one foot, but it was enough to shock Tony into tears. He lay on his back for a good minute, before his owner was able to come to his rescue.
This day taught Tony a valuable lesson, which was to look before he leaped.
