A mere hour after school got out, Nikki made her way over to Seth's house. He lived less than a mile away, so traveling by foot wasn't an issue at all. As she made her way there, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was... off. It wasn't a bad feeling, quite the contrary in fact. Nikki felt as if some kind of energy or potential was unlocking within her, but she wasn't sure if she was just imagining things.
Seth was a nervous wreck as he tried to clean the clu

I wake up after a horrible night, the sun is about to rise and the sky has cleared up.
I slowy get myself off the cat's arms, trying not to wake her and when I'm finally free, I go.
"Kathy" is now drooling on the floor, I quickly get as far as I can without making a noise as I don't want "that" following me around …
K : HELLO !
P : Wha- How ?! Go back to that crooked house to wait your fated meeting with your kind or that witch of yours !
K : Didn't you said I have " near zero chance for both to happen " ? And it's okay, I have met my fated one ! Y.O.U !
P : Urgh, you're tiring …
K : Also, it's really mean to leave without telling ! * pouting but still following *
I sighed of despair when I realized she wouldn't leave me alone.
K : So, where are we going ? ~ ~
P : " We " ?
K : WE !
P : Forget it, I don't have enough money to feed both of us, I don't even have enough for myself.

The parking lot hadn’t been used in years, and had fallen into complete disuse, as all the businesses in that part of town had moved out into the newer suburbs. What was once covered all day long with cars was now only covered in a thick layer of sand and dirt.
If there had been anyone within five blocks, they would have witnessed an unexpected pair of events in the dark, empty neighborhood: a whirlwind spinning into the center of the vacant lot, picking up any loose particles in its wake and sending them into a spin around itself, and a few seconds later a streak of red lightning touching down just a few feet away.
“So, you’re her? Nice entrance.”
“I could tell you the same. So, ten thousand, right?”
“That’s right. And remember, the blue one is mine.”
On the other side of Queen City, Mr. M and Peyton Reed had arrived at the music hall. The scheduled performance that night wasn’t until late that evenin
Inseparable FriendsMost of my life has mostly, for lack of a better word, sucked. I was born to unmarried parents who conceived me at a one-night stand, I was put in an orphanage where other kids poked fun at me, I was adopted by a couple who only did so just to look good to the other neighbors (they couldn't care less about me), and I kept getting hit on by hideous, 50-year-old pedophiles even at the young age of 5. There was pretty much no one in my life.Inseparable Friends5 days ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Except Daniel Tran. Even though we are exactly the same age (we were born on the exact same day in the exact same year), he treated me like a little sister. Our houses were next to each other, and he would offer to bring me to his house whenever my sorry excuses for foster parents started being rude to each other. And I don't mean "typical husband-and-wife" rude that you see in sitcoms, I mean "why the hell did they even get married in the first place?" rude.
At his house, Daniel and I would do things together, such as playing video games, watching te

“I thought we agreed no more than four hours of work per day.”
Frieda was standing in the doorway, arms folded over her chest, tapping her foot impatiently. Zeke, however, took no notice of her presence. He was completely absorbed in the various vials and beakers that littered the small desk. Carefully placing the needle into one of the vials, he pushed the fluid from the barrel of the syringe into the glass container. He took a small metal rod and stirred the fluids together. The doctor then corked the vial, and placed it back into its holder. Steepling his fingers under his nose, he stared at the vial. He wondered if he should test the serum then, or later. Definitely then.
“Dr. Howell!” Frieda said, suddenly right next to him.
“What?!” He cried, startled by her voice.
“You promised! You promised, and you lied. You are over your limit for today, and it isn’t even noon!”
“How would you know? You haven’t been here all mo

The night was extremely cold and frigid. It was another chilling start to springtime and flowers had begun to bloom again. The moonlight reflected on their petals, giving off a luminescent glow that was almost enchanting. A powerful breeze brushed against the flowers and hedges leading up to a colossal estate. It was one of the richest homes in the entire city. Situated far from the bustling and restless cityscape, the estate exuberated feelings of peacefulness and solitude. The four-story manorhouse was completely blacked out, its residents fast asleep....or so it seemed.
Glass shattered on one of the lower levels. A whimpering cry rang out. Thumping echoed up the stairs, followed by a clamor and second shattering of glass. A light switched on in the second floor window. The ruckus continued upstairs. A pistol cocked before the shrill of two gunshots.

"Cole!" Cries my grandmother. Dropping the watering can she gathers her skirts and rushes forward. I kneel down and hold out a hand for her to embrace, hardly surprised at her bravado. My grandmother trained Sage's mom in the art of witchcraft, and is the most powerful sorceress I can think of. She got tired of town life when I was around the age of 11, and decided to embark into the wilderness on adventure, much to my father's displeasure. We hadn't heard from her since. Until, obviously, now.
I smile down at her, despite her age she still looks fantastic. Her green eyes seem to smile back at me, wild as ever, but full of happy tears as she hugs my finger close. Her little body is as warm and soft and comforting as I remember, albeit much smaller, and I feel tears brimming in my own eyes.
"I missed you." I say, remembering all the good times we had. She laughs and pats my hand.
"I missed you too sweety." My grandmother steps back and puts her hand

Chapter 52: Academy
At least the last two hours of the drive were uneventful, and I rolled up to the gates of the Academy early. How did I know that I was in the right place? Simple. It was a sprawling complex next to the city, with the words, ‘Riders’ Academy’ painted to the left of the gate in big block letters.
The little I actually saw of it actually consisted of nothing more than a bunch of wide and low building, probably housing, arranged in a radial pattern around what was most probably the main building. The building in question was best described as a rather tall cylinder, with what looked like large balconies on which dragons and presumably their riders would come and go from. Everything looked to be constructed from the same pale tan stone, even the walls, which were actually quite high.
I ended up waiting at the gate, with the engine in neutral.
After what felt like an eternity of staring at the black metal gates, I realised that it would
The Little Princess Chapter EightHer world came to a sudden stop and she was so glad. Even though she had felt the man's hand on her to keep her from being tossed around too much, she was still nauseous from the rapid up and down movements. But everything did seem quiet now. Gone were the voices and sounds of people moving around, replaced with the giant's heavy breathing. The fabric around her moved as he took a deep breath. What was he going to do now? He had her alone, and that was the scariest thought for her, because there was no one to hear them. The Little Princess Chapter Eight4 days ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Suddenly the pocket shifted and light spilled over her for a brief moment before massive fingers came down at her. Hannah trembled at the sight of them coming closer and closer. They were so large, she couldn't even compare them to tree trunks, since she'd never seen a tree that thick. She could see every swirl of the fingerprints on each one. In her studying of them she didn't realize they'd come close enough to touch and and when one did she let out a scream, causing

We expanded out little wooden box a little, not too much, but enough so we had at least some space to fit things in. We would build a definite house later. We spent a lot of our time just looking for resources: Chopping down some trees, farming wheat, we even found some animals [I 'accidentally' befriended a horse, and after that he wouldn't leave us alone anymore]. We went exploring into the underground caves too, with Conen huddled up beind me as we traveled down and me waving a torch around to see if no mobs were creeping up on us. It was unnerving and we didn't have the guts to go down really deep without any good tools to defend ourselves, but we managed to return with some coal and iron.Leastrin in Chaos [CH05] Teller of the tales5 days ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

The night grew thicker as we approached the long forgotten city,
which existence was almost a myth,
we glided down through the trees and the leaves moved
around our bodies in a welcoming dance.
It was a peaceful and quiet night,
the wind kissed our faces and caressed Adar's silver armor
and seemed to encircle my ancient sword.
I could see this sensual dance between this phantom city's air and us,
I could hear my breath and the burning beats of my heart,
Adar's heart was like the wind itself they would merge and I would hear no difference,
while, the wind provoked the fire in my heart to rise,
it was pulsating so strongly I feared everyone would hear us soon,
I can not explain this feelings, for I never felt them before,
I looked at Adar but for once he seemed unaware of my ever growing emotions or
so I thought, he seemed so tense...
Now standing upon the city's gate, the wind emerged from with

In fact, I'd spent much of my life working with magic to ensure that I would never part ways with this world. What can I say? I was a coward. I didn't want to face the fact that sooner or later I'd have to face the music.
I had been fairly sure, at the time, that I wanted to live forever. But I'd never realized what that entailed. Living forever on magic is like remaining awake forever on caffeine - it's possible, sure, but it's not quite sustainable, and it's certainly not healthy.
That had been my conclusion when I'd managed to make sure it was possible. It would be hard, but it was certainly worth trying.
So, ten years ago, I had begun figuring out how to be immortal. There were some nitty-gritty details about it, but really, it all boiled down to using magic to create a container for my mind as a container for my magic
A Little More Trust Cpt. 34Charlie walked back to his small apartment happily, already thinking about what he could make Adrian for lunch. He walked at a decent pace but as smoothly as usual, holding his bag a bit away from his body so as to jostle it the least amount possible. Returning home he unlocked the door and set his bag gently on the table inside. “Here we are,” he announced pleasantly to the viri in his bag. He unzipped the pocket without looking in it and moved over to the cabinet to fetch a glass of water. “So, what did you think?” he asked conversationally. “How did you like art history?”A Little More Trust Cpt. 344 days ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

"I'm coming, I'm coming," the young boy replied.
The elder man gave the youth a look. "Now don't you speak to me in that tone".
Markyl pouted in response. He kicked at a pebble on the ground. "I just don't understand what's wrong with a little rain. I mean, if anything, wouldn't it be good? Rain makes the crops grow, after all." He sighed, eyes still on grass underneath him. "What are the Dragonborn anyway?"
A moment of silence passed, and Markyl wondered if his master heard him. Just as he was about to ask the question again, Brinyth turned to face his apprentice.
"Markyl, look at me. I said look at me!"
Unwilling, the boy finally lifted his head.
"There are some things in this world that must remain unspoken about. It brings poor luck."
"Poor luck? Don't tell me you suddenly turned superstitious on me, Pops".
Brinyth smiled. "I assure you, Son, that I have not. Howe

The flowers, which were made up of the micaceous type mineral only growing in a radiating pattern, seemed to have buds and instead of being frozen in time it was as if it were actually… growing. Some of the smaller green and yellow bush crystals were acicular and needle-like. It would indeed be dangerous to fall here or even step wrong but there was a defined path into the deep of the mineral latent forest and mountains. Ky took the lead, ducking under the low hanging branches that wouldn’t have bothered the head of anyone at a normal height.
The sun coming through the trees and branches of the forest reminded Saria of the stained glass windows in the castle but far more spectacular. Each curving limb and mass of rock was a prism, exploding an endless array of colors over her and Ky as that traveled deeper into the forest. After some time of walking, Saria could hear the sound of birds chirping but there wasn’t a sign of life, not even an insect. It was then she reali

“Please stop poking me… I can’t concentrate… your nails are… pointy!” Meysam muttered his discontent for the tenth time. Meysam was sitting on the ground. Between his legs was a little lithic raising which acted as platform for Reethoria’s right foot. It was the perfect place and position for him to work on one of the demoness’s shackles around her ankles. They tried the cuffs on her wrists first, but there wasn’t any good position to work on them.

Her taunting way of speech unnerved Meysam, but he guessed that she was only making fun – partway.
After a thorough inspection of the shackle on her ankles the human found a little crack

Blue Blaze maintained her grip around the neck of Mariposa as they reached the large room on the fifth floor. There was a large metal sliding door in front of them; Tara pushed Mariposa towards the button on the side.
“Open the door,” she commanded roughly.
Mariposa reached out slowly; the iron grip Tara had around her neck was still making it very difficult for her to breathe. She gently depressed the button, and the metal door creaked as it slid into the wall, revealing an incredible sight; the large, well-lit room, with four clear ‘pods’ on the far wall, each housing a sleeping superheroine. Each appeared to be floating inside its pod, head bowed, eyes closed, arms hanging at their sides.
“You…weren’t kidding,” Tara breathed. “Hawkgirl…Supergirl…White Owl…Wonder Woman.”

Watho was a strange sorceress that lived in a large mansion. Her purpose in life was to gain knowledge of everything. You could search all of your life and never find the mansion that she lived in, as it was in another plane of existence; tucked away in a pocket of space in the fabric of the universe. She never went outside unless absolutely necessary; always wrapped up in her studies. Watho, for this reason, was the palest creature you could imagine. Her face looked as if it was a rhombus carved from bleached ivory, and was framed by wavy red hair. Watho's dark eyes were calm, until you looked deep into them and saw the flame burning inside them, like coal that had a flicker of fire underneath it.
There was a wolf inside of her, clawing and scratching and howling within her skull, begging to be released. The beast inside of her was slowly drawing Watho to insanity, although she tried to ignore it. Sometimes the constant fight with the wolf was too much, and Watho would collapse.

Other than its sheer size, there really wasn’t anything remarkable about the building that housed the ‘Butterfly Museum’. There was a double set of glass doors at the front, with a simple sign above them that read ‘The Butterfly Museum’. And the doors were predictably locked, as it was after midnight.
Tameri turned to Reed. “Before I get out my tools and get us in, you want to take an attempt at seeing who’s opened this door lately?”
“Yeah. I would. And just to be clear – if we weren’t on a rescue mission, I’d be getting ready to arrest you for breaking and entering.”
“Well,” smiled Tameri, “you could try.”
Reed grasped the handle of the door, holding it, using his foresight ability to see who had recently touched it. “Well,” he said, turning to face Mr. M, Tameri, and Blue Blaze, “this is interesting.”
