Chapter: 2 Wrath of Smaug
Middle-Earth 12:00 am
Bard readied his bow just as Smaug charged. His colossal claws smashed every house in his way while his tail leveled towers. "Brace yourself!" I exclaimed moments before the dragon crashed against the belltower. Bard went tumbling down to one of the homes below. I frontflipped off of the tower and fired my wristhook, which snagged onto Smaug's tail. I held on tight as I was pulled high into the night sky. The dragon's mighty wings flapped, separating clouds with monstrous gusts of wind.
Smaug glanced down, his glowing eye trained on me. "You have many tricks.....girl! But they will not save you."
"Wanna bet?!" I taunted. Taunting helped me forget that I was dangling miles above the ground and facing the

In response the large gator smiled and chuckled; letting out a deep rumbling laugh before speaking in his raspy growling voice. “It is good to see you again little one. I was wondering if you’d like to help me with a few things I need to do?”
Mikey nodded enthusiastically. “YEAH!”
Leatherhead grinned down at Mikey for a moment before looking up and catching Leonardo's eye. The day before, the blue banded turtle had come to him and explained the situation. Now that they were going on patrols of the surface Mikey was beginning to show signs of depression and…..erratic behavior. Easily Leatherhead recalled how Leo had become choked up when he mentioned that Mikey had asked him what the sky had been like.
After over an hour of talking they had come up wit

The spring air carried a warm breeze into the village. It was just humid enough to keep the warmth in the air. Flowers sat brightly in the small yards, by the little gardens where a few early plants began to poke their little green heads out of the earth. Near them were the wide, dirt-paved streets. Villagers ambled down them, enjoying the warm spring day.
Miskel and Tsara walked through the streets. Or, rather, Miskel walked like a normal, rational person and Tsara cartwheeled. Elda had sent them to the market to buy some fruit for lunch. Miskel had been given the money, since Tsara would probably drop it along the way while she cartwheeled or did something else.
Tsara’s short brown ponytail fluttered behind her as she executed a perfect backflip off a barrel, knocking it over.
“Be careful, Tsara,” Miskel scolded, “You’ll get yourself into trouble again.”
“Sorry,” Tsara replied lightly. Miskel rolled his eyes. Tsara was his twin sister,

Unlike any other she was, a girl of pure unadulterated beauty, untapped by nature's embrace as she happily strolled across the undergrowth, decaying leaves cracking under her weight as she absorbed the warm air into her petite lungs. The scorching sun bore down on her tanned skin like an annoying mosquito buzzing around her soft ears, tsunamis of sweat dripping from brow as it slithered down her bare arms, her exposed stomach the centre of attention for many onlooking howler monkeys as they watched with curiosity from the high, winding branches. The wild-girl wore a skimpy bikini, a wooden spear in hand tipped with a sharp piece of Blackstone she found whilst travelling the bottom of a small, freshwater pool in the middle of the Congo long ago. She was a skilled huntress, the top predator of a primeval environment where there were more than a thousand ways to perish. It was made from the fur of a jaguar, the patterns aiding her to blend in with the

Daren sighed as the different technicians and researchers were slaughtered before their eyes. He looked over to his cousin and gripped his shoulder as Jared looked away from the footage.
“It’s that Terry chick again,” Levi sighed as he pointed out the Fourth Reich soldier, “And her friends, Crackle and Pop…”
“So that makes her Snap?” Jared asked, his humor sounding uncharacteristically strained.

A Little More Trust Cpt. 2Sawyer tried to walk as steadily as he could as he left campus, though he was still rather eager to get back home. He couldn’t help but continue marveling at the sensation of the tiny person moving about on his hand, leaning up against his middle as he walked. The little guy was a lot less squirmy than Sawyer had expected, and he wondered just what all exactly of his warning had been understood. Could the tiny person understand English? Even talk? God, he had so many questions. First and foremost, of course, was how such a creature could exist in the first place. Beyond that, though, how had he gotten into the school? Had anybody else ever seen him? Probably not, or Sawyer would have certainly heard about it. Interesting things, even rumors nobody would believe, tended to spread through the student body like wildfire. The little guy was just so small. Sawyer kept thinking back to holding him properly, feeli

He felt someone shift next to him. Slowly he shifted, tilting his head to look and find, “Mikey?”
Next to him his lover nodded, Mikey’s young face covered in a look of pure relief. “It’s me Leo. I’m here. I’m right here.”

Ty cursed at himself. How could he have let Enderlox get away? And how could he have let him take the girl with him?
Now he needed to not only rescue Seto, but Laura as well. But he wasn't sure if he could do it alone. He could ask for help, but he was too stubborn to even consider it. This was his mess, so it was his responsibility to try to clean it up himself.
But I need to know where he's taken both of them, he thought to himself, It could be far away from here for all I know...
"Hey, Ty!" someone called out.
Ty glanced up, hearing his name and saw two winged figures coming toward him. He recognized them as Mitch and Max and both had serious looks on their faces.
"Mitch? Max?" he asked as they landed, "What are you guys doing here?"
"We came to help you with Enderlox," said Max.
Ty frowned, "Look, I appreciate the offer, but I really gotta do this by myself. Enderlox took Seto as well a

Brutus liked Braff. The older stag was gruff and tough and a good warrior.
Braff didn't like Brutus. The idiot could talk all day and still not manage to say anything worth listening to. He was tolerable on the days when he kept his jabbering trap shut, but today was not one of those days.
"Did I tell you about the time surprised a group of guards and does in Glenmore? It was funny; all the guards circled up around the lightest colored of the does and left the others to fend for themselves. Glenmores are so strange, huh." Brutus said.
Braff rolled his eyes. How had this fuzzball make it to fourteen winters darting in and out of their neighboring kingdom without learning anything? "That was probably a Princess, idiot. The Glenmores hold them as precious as we hold our does, they're about as rare. They have some funny magic that counters Blackwo

Colfax heard the signs of the second wave of morning classes getting out. That meant that the halls of the university building would soon be filling with college students. He sighed and glanced at the door of the supply closet. He'd restocked his bag with new safety pins, some string, and some cotton. He stood up and walked to the edge of the shelf, where his grappling line fashioned out of a large safety pin and some twine was still hooked into the plastic.
No one ever came into the supply closet during the day, but it was always better to be safe than sorry. Colfax quickly made his way to the floor, ready to hide

Seeing Eye to Eye (Rewrite) - 9I awoke with a jolt, sitting up rapidly. I winced when my shoulder gave a painful twinge from the uncomfortable position I’d slept in. But, there was some faint light filtering into my prison now. I peeked out and saw that the sky was beginning to shift to a soft yellow, signaling the impending sunrise. I shifted to face the one opening in the bucket, appraising it.Seeing Eye to Eye (Rewrite) - 94 days ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
The opening was barely an inch wide; I’d definitely need more space to fit through, especially with my wings. I gripped one jagged edge, hauling back on it with all my might.
To my great surprise, the metal actually bent slightly. Some small, orange flakes of rust fell away from the surface. I hadn’t really expanded my window of escape, but it was a start. If I could just push the metal edges outward enough, I’d be able to squeeze myself out. Then, I could fly away into the forest and hopefully never see a human ever again.
I braced one hand on th

His response was immediate. Colfax picked up his satchel and swung it over his shoulder, opening the flap at the same time. He retrieved his grappling line, unlooping the twine and opening up the safety pin. He had thought he'd have to be far more patient for such an opportunity to arise, but Sawyer must have really underestimated him. With the practiced motions of an expert, Colfax took aim and threw his grappling line upwards, hooking the safety pin on the rim of the jar on his first try.

The day was waning to an end at the Great Oak and the red doe almost seemed to blend in with the sky. Different shades painted the sky with tinges of pink streaking through it.
