The next couple of hours mostly consists of me passing out and regaining consciousness a few hours later. Everyone else in the room seems either disappointed or furious at me for having done nothing to stop the Cardinal from going after Ross or even Katie for that matter.
How can I? He's made absolutely sure that I'm completely powerless.
After a long silence, we all pick up on the sound of screaming elsewhere in the building. My chest clenches up in dread. It's Ross.
“Wh-what are they d-doing to him?” Katie whispers shakily.
I listen carefully for a moment before answering quietly. “He's being bitten. Soon they're probably going to get him to come in here and kill the rest of us.”
“That boy was loyal, he wouldn't just walk in here and kill you.” Jack growls.
“What makes you so sure?” I snap. “Have you ever seen a human being changed into a vampire before?” I challenge.
“You came here to get us out

“Mmrh…” the sleepy Cyndaquil murmured in protest.
“Wake up. We’re goin’ map making today.”
“Wha—whoah!” Alfie shouted as the Vaporeon lifted him up onto his back and handed him a charcoal and some parchment, as well as a flat piece of stone to prop the paper up against.
“We gotta draw a map of the town for the guild,” he explained as he ran out the front of the tent. “We’re gonna start from our place and circle around, then cut through the town and get what else we can.”
“O-okay. What do we get first?”
“Let’s see… our house is by the northeast end o’ town, so we should start by followin’ the creek.” With that, he started down sout

"V-Vriska! Wait for me! I can't keep up!" Vriska huffed, taking Anasta's hand, and running, using her wings
as a wind cutter and speed boost. Anasta nearly floated above the ground, Vriska dragging her along, the
breath of the horsemen on their spines. Vapor, easily keeping up with them, occasionally knocked the horses down with a water gun attack, yet this only spared them seconds of distance away from them. They were swift. Agile. Skilled. Suddenly, Anasta fell, shrieking loudly in pain.
"Vriska!" Vriska quickly picked her up, carrying her on her back. However, it was too late. The horsemen pulled back the ribbons on Vriska's hood, huffing.
"You've dragged this on for long enough!" Vriska fell to her feet, Anasta still keeping a tight grip on her matesprit. Vapor saw this and snarled, unleashing the Surf move, washing the horsemen away, and picking Vriska back up, they continuing their run. Soon, they left the forest, heading over hills and

“Pfft—yeah, you,” the fluffier of the two replied quietly. “Who else was looking at those rawst bushes over there? You forget to eat your second breakfast today or something?”
“Oh, shut up, girl.”
“OH I SEE!” the Deino replied, his eyes bloodshot. “A couple o’ jokers, huh? Well, then, guess what? You two are up next! Get out there!” he yelled, punctuating his statement with a gesture of his foreleg towards the path ahaead.

Evan looked around, his heart pounding. His breath fogged in the cold air as he pressed against the stone behind him. The shadows of the canyons helped hide him. there was no moon, only little stars about his head. He had to stop himself from shaking, scared he would give away his hiding spot.
The canyons were eerily silent. there was only the echo of the wind. Evan thought about finding another hiding spot, but ducked lower when he heard the sharp thudding of hard boots.
The steps were confident, but not fast. The canyon walls around him shook with the sound. Closer and closer the steps came. Evan held his breath, closing his eyes tightly. The steps were right outside of his hiding spot now. They suddenly stopped. Evan suppressed a sob of fear. Everything became still once more.
A heavy hand grabbed Evans shoulder, yanking him from his hiding spot. Evan cried out as he was thrown to the ground. He turned around, trying to grab his sword but a sharp pain hit
[SH-M1] A Ghostly Debate The morning sunlight shone through the window of the treehouse, fragmented by the wooden grate and the many branches and leaves in the forest’s canopy, and falling onto Theodora’s metallic shell, which shone brightly in the golden light as she lay in her hammock.[SH-M1] A Ghostly Debate7 hours ago in Introductions & Chapters
A low hum escaped the her throat as she inwardly protested between getting up or staying in bed for just a few moments longer, until ultimately, she sighed heavily in resignation and swung her legs over the side and managed to get to her feet. A flutter was heard from below her, as if something fell to the ground, and upon her glancing at her feet, she noticed a small scrap of parchment on the wooden floor below her. She raised an eyebrow and stooped down to pick it up and read it.

Dimension Traveler: Warehouse Brawl The doors flew off their hinges, crashing onto the cement ground several meters away. Sounds of metal hitting ground ringed in the large warehouse. Moonlight filtered in through the large windows above, illuminating the dust that was kicked up. Old boxes, crates and wooden palettes of various sizes lay strewn about the expanse of the cracked gray floor. The whole warehouse, I remember, was the size of two football fields.Dimension Traveler: Warehouse Brawl7 hours ago in Introductions & Chapters
Stepping inside, I dusted off the shoulders of my purple and silver jacket as I looked around. It was quiet in here. Something that's never a good sign for anything. Rolling up my sleeves, I walked through the maze of crates, peeking around corners as I stuffed my fingerless gloved hands in my pockets as I strolled.
Rounding a tall pile of moldy crates, I was stopped by a deep and almost metallic voice that announced, "Ah, so

"Those who once held cruel, violent, evil things inside of themselves," said Viola, "but have changed for the better... or have tried to. Those are the ones it will affect. It will turn them back to how they once were. It was used on a king, who was once cruel to his people, but his heart changed when a child pleaded to him. He became a better man, but a year or so later, he received a ring, with this very magic. It had been sent by another king, who wanted to prove the new found kindness was an act. He knew that it was not, so he used this magic to make it seem so, as he wanted to bring his kingdom down.
The king was brought back to his former self, perhaps worse, and destroyed the people of his own kingdom, and others. He started wars, and was killed in them."
"So..." Lila said. "Someone is trying to turn Lena back to that."
"Indeed," said Viola.

Star Catchers - Ch. 14 - Down to BusinessThe one to fly to Stillwater Heights to pick Clancy up was the Commander himself. However, Clancy suspected it wasn't to ensure his safety so much as to visit Void, his old mentor. This was apparent because the two sat in the living room and talked for hours before they finally got back in the plane to leave.Star Catchers - Ch. 14 - Down to Business9 hours ago in Introductions & Chapters
The flight home was awkward to say the least. Clancy was no longer comfortable in the plane for fear Sky would crash it like he had, so he was on edge the whole hour-long journey home. Plus the first half was spent with Sky just lecturing Clancy about how stupid it was to disobey his direct order and he should've listened. Clancy didn't pay attention, nor did he really plan on following Sky's orders in the future.
When they arrived at the base, Sky dragged him inside and simply told him to keep working on his mission before stalking off. For a few moments, Clancy stood in the corridor, uncertain of what to do. He moved instinctually to put his hands in
Legends of Serka (ch 1) Two young boys ran in the darken alleyways of a long forgotten city. Everything was all but deserted and destroyed. There were no lights in the windows, no music in the air, no whispers in the streets. One boy, about the age of 12, had black hair that fell to his shoulders, his bangs covering his eye. He was very thin and was wearing a torn up shirt with a pair of torn up shorts that did not match. The other was also thin, not as thin, but still very small. He was shorter than the other boy, about the age of 10. His blonde hair ran to his waste. Like the black haired boy, his long, dress-like shirt was torn up.Legends of Serka (ch 1)9 hours ago in Introductions & Chapters

Since marrying Tucker nearly two decades earlier Jessica had agreed to celebrate the festivals that he would normally celebrate on Earth. They would have a party on New Years Eve, make nicely coloured eggs on Easter, scare the living daylights out of people on Hallowe’en, set off fireworks and burn a dummy of a particularly naughty man on the fifth of November and then finally it was Christmas.
Jessica in particular liked Christmas more than the other celebrations and not because of the presents. It was because of the message that it sent, plus the fact that she got to dress up in festive outfits. Each of these outfits had to be specially made for her since she stood at around

Varron waited outside the great doors of the throne room, flanked by two Fordrassian guards in black armour, staring ahead. His eyes fixed on the crimson Phoenix emblazoned on the wood.
He fussed with his hands by his chest and twisted his torso left and right, eyeing the two guards. He had raven-black hair with a week of untrimmed stubble on his face, and he was dressed in royal plate of a matching colour to the guard's armour. The same red phoenix from the door was displayed on his chest-piece, and upon his back was mounted a six-foot halberd with a crescent blade.
The bruises on his body were a painful reminder of his many defeats, often at the hands of his brother during sparring practice. Now, he awaited the results of his training and several verbal and written tests. His brother had left the palace just as Varron arrived, and he had told him which elemen

The skeleton watched as the figure appeared, almost as if they Blinked like he could... But no, the human, if he could be called that, simply moved in the physical sense. Before Sans could intervene, he saw the man strike Maki, knocking her off her feet and backwards. His eye sockets widened as he saw the human girl react with the grace of a cat, landing on her feet. She seemed to recognize the man who stood atop the patch of flowers, their silhouette blocking out the light a bit. Sans felt his bones feel chilled as the man's face broke into a wide, maniacal grin, the light glinting off of his teeth.
"You..." Maki's soft voice cut through the stretching silence. Her tone was full of fear and hate towards this person, who seemed to revel in the emotion he was causing in her. Sans glanced from Maki to the man, hoping that the man was distracted enough to not notice Sans. He may have promised Toriel not to attack humans, but he had a feeling that this man would be someth

“Get up! Get up!!!” Demanded a girl’s voice.
“Whuuhh…?” I replied half asleep. Then I hit the floor… hard. ”Ow… wh-what’s going on?”
“Oh good, you’re up, now get ready now or we’ll leave you behind.” She said. I looked up; it was no more than my cousin, Marilyn, from the next dorm over. She walked out, looking annoyed.
I got dressed and readied, and went to the front doors of my dorm, they were waiting for me. Alex (my little brother) and Marilyn (my cousin) were both waiting for me. Marilyn looked annoyed and Alex looked indifferent.
“Geez what took you so long?” Marilyn asked. “We might have just left without you at that speed.”
“Sorry, but you know I’m not the kind of person to wake up easily.” I replied. “So Ariel’s isn’t coming with us

With the deaths of Mayza, Tourajé, and Shashala as well as Roasch’s departure from the group, Saulstrance and Eig’nia were the only ones who remained that could see to it that Léruc’s goals were stopped. Whatever was to come when they confronted the dragon they once called their master, Saulstrance and Eig’nia just hoped that they would be ready.
Returning home, Saulstrance and Eig’nia stood before Léruc’s fortress. With Tourajé’s body slowing returning to its original form, Saulstrance and Eig’nia had both changed back into their true forms as well to make it easier and possible to carry him.
For what felt like the longest time, the two dragons just stood before the fort, motionless as they became lost in their thoughts. Eig’nia looked at Saulstrance worriedly as she pondered over what he must be thinking about. Saulstrance, with a determined look on his face, contemplated w
