Sister's Heart Chapter 17 : Chaf The three companions continued to wind steadily upward. As they walked on, they saw a torch lit with a pale fire. It was strange because even though they could see by it, it had no glow nor did it crackle like a proper fire. It steadily streamed from the iron on which it was perched not actually burning and almost not actually existing.Sister's Heart Chapter 17 : Chaf3 hours ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Continuing onwards, they saw more and more of these odd lights. Yet as they increased in number, the less bright it seemed. It was as if the fires were fighting amongst themselves to show which one could shine the most, but in doing so they were nearly snuffing out each other’s light. Not wanting to continue past such mischievous flames, the three rested in a room. One that was filled with rusty beds made of iron poles and old worn leather. They sat on one, but kept to the edge fearing it may collapse.
“We seem to be ascending more steeply,” observed Christine.

((This is a slice from the middle of the story. This time around I am making it more of a series of 'tales'. For the most part, they will focus around a semester at a college campus where the students are being exposed to vibro-nutrients in various ways. This is the mini-tale of two guys experiencing the changes about a month and a half into the program.

It was a crisp October morning. Typically the temperature would call for long sleeves and blue jeans, but the majority of the female students at Central University campus had other plans. While most of the male students were dragging themselves to class or the dining hall, a flock of young women were jogging or running in their choice of tank tops, belly shirts, running shorts, or thin leggings.

“C’mon guys! We’re really far away from the camp now!” a young girl spoke out to the woods. She was looking around for her friends that wanted to try to explore farther than the usual boundry lines of their campsite.
“Relax Casey, there aren’t any bears or cougars out here. Unless you’re afraid of monsters?” one of them teased. She scoffed it off as she pulled out one of em hiding in the log she was standing next to.
“Found you. Now can we go already?” she asked.
“Hey you guys, I found something really cool!” the other kid called out in the distance. Casey and Zakk looked to each other and followed to where they heard Alec’s voice come from. As they walked closer, they saw a bright blue glow give off behind the bushes and something giving a gurgling roar ending with Alec screaming out. They rushed over quickly to try to help their friend from whate

Today though the most precious one in my mind would be the memories… Sweet memories: full of life, love, a little pain and pure bliss.
Today I am thinking of him. Whom? Of course the man I love most in the world. It’s hard to pin down a single favorite memory. Thousands upon thousands glitter in my mind like the stars in the heavens. Oh he could easily be one of those stars: my dearest friend and my light in the times when the world seems lost.
My beloved, he whom touches my heart in ways that no one can… and always has. Oh they spoke such words of him… that being a demon he could never be true, that being a half-breed he could never grant me security or love… that I, or even my children should we have any would be shunned in the world, much like he was.
Did they know him at all? No… they took no time to learn. For he was a better man than any of them, a light and beacon in a w

I opened my eyes, I could feel they were heavy and puffy, but I wasn’t blinded by the sunlight as I expected. In fact, everything was blue. My eyes focused and I saw the sun, but it was dull. The blue sky outside seemed, reflective like plastic, and red veins struck down like bolts of lightning. Till I realized, it was Ceara’s wing. I looked to my right and saw her face. Okay too close. Without me noticing, she had put me in a hug, with her wings and arms. And I was starting to feel uncomfortable. After all, I had been hugging my knees.
“Ceara.” I chimed softly.
Her eyes slowly opened. Then she blinked a couple times. She let go of me, drowsily.
“Good Morning.” I said stretching my arms and legs.
“Morning,” she said softly. She stretched too, that was way too uncomfortable, and weird.
“Between the two of us, that never happened, alright?” I asked.
It was quiet this morning. I gue

Nora woke. Her neck hurt terribly and her stomach demanded satisfaction. Drearily, she stumbled to the room where the spirits were stored. Without thinking, she took a jug nearby and loosened a cork on one of the barrels. Clear liquid came out and filled the cup. Not bothering to smell it, she drank it all down in a single swig. Her cheeks turned red and her throat constricted. Choking she tossed the cup aside. Shuttering and wheezing, she fell to the floor and coughed until she could breathe properly again. Head swimming, she started back when she saw Angus.
“Good morn’.” she said weakly not able to say the whole word.

The black haired female glared at her reflection in the mirror, her purple eyes spoke of a hidden annoyance. She had let her hair down to restart on her signature style, the Side StarWave, basically just all of her hair in a ponytail on the side of her head. Truly, she was fine with her hair down like this, but this was a special night, so she had to look her best.
She wore a horizontally striped sleeveless shirt that had a collar with a pomegranate-trimmed-gold cravat, and the shirt split into two triangles that reached the middle of her thighs. On top of it she wore a black open vest, a matching bow decorated its lower back, and from it extended a flat tail, all trimmed yellow. The female slipped on the dark fingerless gloves that was part of her uniform, guiding it over her skin, stopping when the

Sicari, K-16, Eclipse, Mollie, Anna, Mervin, the vampires and a bunch of guards followed Crimson up to the top of the West Tower. A full moon was peeking over the mountains.
"Yes... tonight is the night..." chuckled Crimson. He turned back to his crowd.
"If you do any harm to this palace, we are obliged to kill you!" warned a guard, readying a silver arrow. "Silver weapons are not resisted by vampires!"
"I know that, fool." laughed Crimson. "No, I do not plan to harm your palace. And put your weapons down." He raised his hand, and snapped the guards' bows with magic. "I simply want you to observe." He turned his back again, and raised his arms, staring right at the moon. A large protective force field sprang around him. A guard tried to charge him, but was badly electrocuted upon contact with it.
"Oh, great and powerful Dark One." called Crimson. "May the mortal world be soaked with the bloody liquids of Demonia; may the weak ones tremble at

“Woah, that was awfully close,” John said to no one in particular, then a scream reminded him why he was there in first place. I'll better step on it, John thought launching himself in the air once again and flying towards the plaza the Clocktower was located on.
When he arrived he saw a black dragon with neon-green markings and spikes running down his back. He was also only bit bigger than most humans, roughly two and half meters. John noticed Ian standing next to one of few human-sized cars parked around the plaza, and landed next to him.
“Tried tranquilizer rounds?” John asked, knowing the answer.
“Yes, but he's just too fast. We couldn't put him to sleep or make unconscious in any way.”
“Do you think The Order is involved?”
“No, I don't think so, John. All I see is confused and lost dragon who just want to get home.”

A Light in the Dark Chapter 2She walked on, heading towards the east. It was no direction in particular, but she liked the warmth of the morning sun on her face and over her back as it rose higher bringing new colour to the world and waking all the myriad creatures that inhabited it. Above her larks and swallows caught insects and in a field somewhere to the south of her she could hear cattle lowing as they moved towards the barns for feeding and milking. She considered their trust in the humans for a moment as she paused and picked through a patch of clover. They weren't very stupid, but they were easily pleased, and liked the structure of familiar schedules. It was almost against their nature to be anything but what they were, each and every day.A Light in the Dark Chapter 23 hours ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

Today was no different than any other day. Except today she knew when she wandered away from the herd, she would not return come sunset. She had spoken of her discontent to her dam when they had had a few moments together, but Omorfia did not have the desire to wander like Melaina did, and Melaina was not content like her dam to stay in one place, even if it was with a herd of her own kind.
So today, in the milky blue and yellow light of the rising sun she took one last look at the still dozing herd and walked away. There was sorrow in her heart but at the same time she knew this was her path. There was something she needed more than safety. Omorfia had encouraged her to wait, to grow a little more before

"She's either a new kind of wolf or a really weird one." I chuckled as I entered the well lit all made of wood kitchen. I saw Henry and his children were already eating in the dinning room.
"Whose weird dear." Said a voice that made me jump. When I recovered from the fright I saw it had just been my mother starring at me from the corner of the room with her ocean blue eyes .
"Oh its you, sorry mom I didn't notice you were there." I said and smiled sheepishly.
" Is something wrong dear you don't look like your usual self."

She sighed and said "Come here honey." I sat down beside her and laid my head on her paws like when I was a puppy, I don't really know why I did it, I felt was a type
Lands of the Abyss: Ch.2 DetachmentI woke up in a dimly light room, my hands bound together in front of me, the voices spoken in the unfamiliar language could be heard from outside the door. They bandaged my right shoulder and arm, a lower pitched voice made itself known, perhaps a child? Despite the face I saw, that looked to be something from a fantasy horror, they seemed quite human. The door opened, the creature didn't look so different from the one I saw in the caves, very human-like posture, but more animal-like in the face, this ones teeth were not showing as much. It glanced at me and darted it eye's away upon eye contact, placing the plate down on a nearby table. It looked like some kind of meat, the creature said something to me, but I did not understand and it proceeded to cut the meat. It held the piece out to me, admittedly I was hungry and took the meat in my hands and placing it in my mouth. It was sweet, tough, and overly chewy; the creatures mouth moved to onlyLands of the Abyss: Ch.2 Detachment4 hours ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

I ran out into the parking lot, which was filled with students.
I knew Mizu was out here somewhere, but I didn't know where. I could only hope she was safe.
I thought I might actually get away, until the girl landed in front of me.
How the hell did she jump from the cafeteria to the parking lot, and land in front of me?
Well, I didn't get to ask her, because in the 10 seconds that it took me to process what she had done, she managed to shoot me in the chest.
As I fell, I heard Mizu yelling my name. She must have been looking for me, because as soon as I hit the ground, she was kneeling next to me, holding my hand.
So now we're back to the present.
And I'm still dying.
The pain is making everything look tinted red.
Why is it doing that?
I hear the girl give an evil chuckle, and I hear her say, "soul shard", before everything goes black.
I feel this weird tugging on my consciousness, prompting me to choose a magic.
I don't really get it, but I choose the

Vincent lay in his bed, tired as ever. He had stayed up all after all, trying to form into a wolf again. But it was useless. He turned onto his left, squeezing the pillow next to him as a head ache began to take over in his mind. Shutting his eyes tightly, he tried his best to get some sleep since he had only two more hours of rest. But he probably wasn't going to be successful..
On the other hand, Shadoww just got back in the castle from taking a small trip out into the park. The ghouls didn't know a small secret of his, but he did have a little thing for Vincent. He went out, far past the Dead Man's Party stage, and got a small Oreo shake for Vincent. Shadoww didn't really understand his obsession for Oreo's, but to him it was pretty cute. Shadoww put his things down after he got settled in the castle, quietly walking to Vincent's bedchamber. Every ghoul was asleep, except for Ghoulmaster himself as he was studying a few spells.

It had a ceder bench wide enough to cram four people on if they sat uncomfortably close to one another. Presently there sat only one person on it. A dwarf with a bald head, round face with creases below his eyes and at the corners of his mouth, a beard that reached to his bellybutton of pure pitch-black that tapered from his face into a precise point at the bottom, a fat nose that looked as though it has been squashed onto his face like a wad of clay that happened to have nostrils attached, bushy eyebrows of the same black that his beard was, armor that shimmered like stars in the light, a round shield at his feet of a dark green metal, and three longswords that stuck out awkwardly from his seated position as they remained strapped to his waist. Beside the bench on the left side, where the dwarf was seated, was a squat table of the same wood as the bench; and on top of it wCall Me Jimmy Segment 14 hours ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

Arret leaned backwards on the couch. His family had traveled Jadugar* to marry him and his sister to their betrothed. By the Magician's customs, the girl could not leave her house to marry outside on her own, or live with her in-laws until marriage, and the boy's parents respected this. Although, he personally found it odd and nonsense.
Arret sighed heavily and folded his arms behind his head and thought to himself, "So, I'm married now." The thought troubled him because he did not how to behave around girls. The only females he concerned himself with were his mother, sister, and cousins. He snorted and stretched. The festivities had tired him out to his bones. He placed his elbow on the handle of the couch and rested his head on his knuckles, silently gazing out of the window.

The pair broke into stride, gaining speed as they went. As soon as they reached 85 knots, their wings extended and they began to "bob", which is when they start to lift up and off the ground in a bobbing like motion. A second later, they flew straight up.
