Don't Leave Me (part 3) Slamming the door behind me, I nearly ran to Marcy who was still resting her head on the pillow, though she was now hugging the pillow and crying. Sliding my coat off, I laid it on the chair having last week flash back at me when I had scolded her about the rent.. She wasn't leaving now, but it really didn't change anything. Marcy was still the depressed 23 year old I have always known, though I didn't understand feelings, I could sometime understand Marcy's.
"Hey Marcy, you okay?" I asked in the most soothing voice I could ask in.. I obviously wasn't much for affection, but I reached and laid my hand on her head anyway.
I could hear a muffled voice as she buried her face deeper into the pillow. God, if I could understand her, though usually I just took that as she wanted to be left alone while she wallowed in her tears.
At this point it was 5:30 and I needed to prepare supper

As soon as they stepped out of the fortress, Saulstrance and Eig’nia launched into the sky. They hoped desperately that they weren’t too late and that Tourajé was still okay.
They decided to split up and check any area of the dragon realm that Tourajé was familiar with, including his family cave. Whoever spotted Tourajé first was to let the other know through tail control.
As time marched forward, Saulstrance and Eig’nia swore they must have searched the entirety of their world although it had only been the places they and Tourajé were familiar with. They couldn’t find any trace of their friend anywhere. Perhaps he had journeyed to the human realm they thought to themselves.
Saulstrance walked past a small pond. He sat down by a tree that was right by the edge of the pond. He had tired himself out from searching for so long and decided to take a quick rest before continuing his search. The cool, shade
Untitled I wait quietly behind the curtains as the girl in front of me becomes a slave to some heartless person who bids just the right amount. As the crowd of men slowly quiet down, I hear the announcer talking me up to them.

The wind blew onto the face of the lone wolf as he tried to run head first into the blizzard. Above him, a raven followed him, not saying a word. His paws sank into the soft snow of the Tundra, chilling him to the bone. Grunting, he peeked forward through the snow that hit his face hardly to find the River only a few meters away now. More adrenaline flowed through him, enough to urge him on through the storm.
When he reached the banks, the freezing water started to ice up and the older ice flows were frozen in place. The raven then cawed loudly, then flew forward over the wide river. The young wolf stepped back, then ran forward and jumped onto the nearest ice chunk. It bobbed in the water, but he soon gained enough balance and jumped to another, then another. On the final flow, the ground lifted a foot higher than the other side of the bank, so he braced himself before making a powerful jump into the air. His claws barely grabbed the edge of the bank's frozen dirt

The other man's head snapped up in surprise before a metal gauntlet slammed into his jaw hard enough to spin him once and land solidly against the wall with the other one. An audible crack filled the air as he slid down and groped feebly for his pistol as the green armored man tilted his head and pulled free the bloody blade in question. Aiming the gun dizzily, the rag wearing street kid pulled the trigger twice.
The breastplate tore from the concussive piercing but did not appear to have allowed the knight actually injury as the strange stranger knelt, plucked the gun out of the shaking hands, and tucked it away before brandishing the knife again. The store's walls were shelved with all kinds of savoury edibles. Food laid on cotton cloth, liquids stayed in labelled jugs. There were a few people chatting, sitting down on the wood, eating their breakfast. Their scent of their sweat was overwhelmed by the air of the store: aromatic, salty, pungent enough to taste.
There was a grumble in her stomach.
Walking to the counter, she got out her pouch. From there, she put them all out, spilling the many coins on its top.
Looking at the walls with all their different scrumptious delights, she imagined biting into each one.
She turned to the clerk. "Alright, how much can I get with-"
The merchant appeared, holding a dagger.
"Thief," he addressed her, moving closer. "If you surrender the gold, you won't have to be arrested for stealing." He put his hand out. "A young girl like you in prison would be terrible. And with all those other men..." He shook his head. "You wouldn't want that."

Imperial spy's perhaps? Eh... didn't matter. I forced my way out of the debris. The cargo ship was a wreck... the cargo... missing? So whoever shot me down... knew the caro, my flight path, who I 'was', and exactly where to shoot me down! Which means they're possibly nearby.
I pushed myself forward into the cockpit of the freighter. Then checked the Nav Computer. "The data has been wiped? Controls blasted to oblivion. How could anyone have done this?" I pushed a button the the wall to my right,

Feet, padding towards her. Fervent, panicked, terrified. A worried face, framed in pale blue. Tears, spilling onto her face.
Movement, being lifted. Harsh language, both in Common and in snarling croons. Warmth, spreading from her chest outwards.
Wispy laughter, like nails on a chalkboard. Slipping through her mind like sand through glass. Numb, her arms. Can't breathe, can't breathe..!
Keydis awoke slowly, bundled in a small tent with barely enough room to sit up in. The crackling of fire reached her ears, a pleasant warmth spreading down her limbs as the sounds of forest and rain graced her ears. She was alive, or so she hoped, and some horrid nightmare had seized her in the moments pending her triumph. Yet, with the slightest shift of her weight, a gasp escaped her parched throat.
Everything ached, especially her arms. Like fish hooks had taken chunks from them; a stabbing, piercing burn that was all

Her eyes opened to a sky full of stars.
Wind blew softly by, brushing against her skin, ruffling her hair. How long had she been falling? Keydis slowly realized that she didn't feel like she was falling at all. She turned over.
Below her there was only an orange sky, near sunset or sunrise. 'Below' might not have been accurate, however. On one side, night; on the other day. The ground was nowhere in sight and there was no sense of up or down. Keydis floated there, her mind foggy and distant, trying to think of why she was there, how she had gotten there.
She looked down at herself, only then realizing that she was wearing nothing, carrying nothing.
Was this death?
"Yes," a voice answered in front of her. Surprised, Keydis lifted her eyes... and looked into her mother's. The woman stepped forward through the air and embraced Keydis in a sudden, warm hug. "I'm so sorry, baby girl," she whispered as the girl stiffened. Her mothe

In the darkest corner of the darkest pass in Hiemis, stood the wreckage of the airship Promoveo. In the deepest corner of the deepest deck of that airship, Keydis stepped into the engine room. The writhing tendrils of pitch and tar seemed to come alive as they spider-webbed around the frame of the door, sprawling up through the destroyed floorboards to creep across the entirety of the ship's frame.
Inside, the engines were dead. A great hulk of steam and steel sat dormant, unmoving. Yet, just behind it, on the far wall, a distinct light could be glimpsed. A vibrant violet, accompanied by the ever-so-soft sounds of life. Here, where they sat the thickest, could Keydis appreciate the true mass of the stains once thinner than nothingness at the top of the ship. Easily a foot in diameter, the great roots pulsated and coursed like a fluid barely contained.
All at once, Keydis' breath chilled in the air, a fine mist gat

The morning of the fifth day after leaving Terminus found Keydis standing atop the Cliffs of Aerius, overlooking the Sea of Aquilonia. The laicar had parted from the caravan in the late afternoon, two days earlier, saying her goodbyes and promising to meet up with Annora in Excelsus. From there, she had walked the rest of the way. Being able to talk and exercise, to argue and fight, had made it easier to avoid dwelling on the reality of what she was heading out to do. When she pushed her body to its limits, she was able to sleep soundly.

I wake from the sun coming through the upper barn doors, still open a crack from yesterday. I feel groggy and sick. The air is so cold I see my breath swirling out lazily in front of me. He felt as if he hated Noir, but the dog-like humanoid could push him back into the underworld, where he would burn longer and never see Autumn Leaf again, and he disliked that taste in the twisted game of fate he now played. He looked to the temple. What was once warming in the sun was now cooling in the night. He entered it and witnessed something move in the dark of night. Growling and unsheathing his claws, he prepared for an attack, but was instead met with a squeak. He gasped and pulled his claws back, kneeling down an
