"Are we there yet?" I whined to my parents from the back seat of the car. We were on the road heading to Orlando to visit my grandparents. Departing from Indianapolis, the drive wasn't short by any means, and frequent stops were made due in part to me.
"Not yet, Emma. Asking over and over isn't going to help get us there any faster, either." my mom told me from the passenger seat. I was only 9, but I knew when mom wasn't happy. "Sorry." I apologized, putting my head down in shame. "Don't worry about it sweetie. Just relax and we'll be there before you know it." she looked back and smiled at me. Resting my head back, I drifted off into a doze until I was awakened at a fast food place just off the exit of the highway.
"Emma, wake up. We're getting dinner. Looks like we'll have to stay at a hotel a few exits down. I'm sorry, we'll surely make it by tomorrow." she assured me. I was disappointed, but not to the point where I'd let it ruin my experience. We did just cross the state line into

"Ask the one you seek wisdom from. The last shard is there."
"There's only one person wise enough to be holding the last shard." Moshi made his way home, looking up at the sky and marveling at the beautiful sunset. It was starting to get a bit late and everyone was making their way home from work. Normally, Moshi was fairly tired, but being so close to getting the third shard, he made his way home as fast as he could. When he arrived home, he was greeted by a warm comforting hug from his mother.
"Welcome home Moshi!" she said.
"Hey Mama. How was your day?"
"Oh my day was fine. Business today wasn't as booming as it usually is, but that's okay." Mam

Summer, Year 761 of the New Age
A fortnight had passed, allowing the rush and thrill of a new king in the herd die down. Silv had kept to his “duties” since the first night of being crowned. Summer was brutally hot to the stag, so he did many of his visitations in the early mornings, or in the late evenings. The moon had become a close friend to the extensively hairy stag over the many seasons that he lived. A hot blazing ball of fire was unavoidable though. Silv had the… honor… or at least he presumed the honor, of meeting with the Stormcaller at high noon.
Standing below a large pine tree the king shook out his thick coat. He could feel it was matted, clumps of sweat, sand, and some stray twigs were tangled in the hair due to his romp in the early morning with some fawns who were being watched after by adoptive doe
The Problem with False (2)“Gruesome, that is,” King Lye whispered to himself, taking the fancy, thick glass bottle from False’s hands with terrible delicateness in his long, slim fingers. False nodded politely enough—it was never the type of respect which King Lye preferred, but where False was concerned the King had long since given up. Some subjects would drop to the ground over a puddle for their frightening monarch, but False just wasn’t that way.The Problem with False (2)3 hours ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
King Lye drifted toward his personal glass closet, in which he kept and protected his reserve jars of truths, ready for the picking whenever he felt like having them. He had a peculiar key especially for that closet, a little bronze one, that click-clocked when he gave it one full turn. With the truths safely stowed, King Lye locked the cabinet up again and stashed the key somewhere on his belt. False couldn’t help but roll his eyes at the whole ordeal. Truths weren’t worth gold, really. He had several hundred little stran

In the Sol Dimension, Sonic and Shadow were hanging out with Silver by Blaze’s castle. The guys were just sitting at a table playing a game of go fish while they waited for Blaze to return from somewhere.
“So Silver, how are things going with Blaze?” Sonic asked him.
Silver sighed and said, “Okay I guess. She’s been pretty busy with her royal duties, and she hasn’t had much time to hang out.”
“I hear you. Katelyn’s been like that to. She keeps staying in her room almost all day, working on stuff, and refusing to come out until she feels that she’s done more than enough for the day,” said Sonic. “It worries me and Mario.”
“Sonic, you and Mario obviously love Katelyn a sister, and if she means that much to the two of you, you need to let her know that you’re worried about her,” said Shadow.

After the Backstab Shop it was time to go back to regular testing. He told the six that there was a sweet surprise waiting for them but they were taking way too long than usual.
"When are R.K, Council One, Mario, Sonic, Katelyn, and Tacey are coming?" Mech asked as he did a cat's cradle, "They should be here by now."
"Patience." Dark Queen said, "They'll come."
"Wanna play with me?" Dark Tacey asked coming in with some pokemon dolls.
"In a bit I'm a little busy."
Suddenly a portal opened up in front of them and Goldman was delighted.
"Ah kids." Goldman said, "Welcome to our 46th te-"

Beth had glanced up from her journal and scowled in irritation.
Being proven right... she'd mused, as she crossed to unlock the door to the store... is not always a pleasing experience.
It was pissing down outside, and she stepped back well out of the way as Elliot came shivering in out of the cold. Why anyone had chosen to settle one of their world's major city's so far north when there was a perfectly decent tropical belt circling the planet's equator she could never understand. Though she did concede that for many of the original Tibetan settlers the conditions here would have been practically balmy. And of course the vampires like the long winter nights.
She stood back, hands on hips, regarding the bedraggled excuse for a man stood before her critically. “You're in some serious shit my friend. You do realise that?”

As his eyes focused, he realized that the room wasn’t completely dark, but was instead faintly lit by a dim beam of light shining from a crack overhead. He sat up and almost immediately collapsed again from a blinding pain in his skull.
Gods, what’s wrong with me? Aegil thought. Did I get smashed on the head?
He then vaguely remembered some fuzzy memory of reassembling here and then a pain flashing through him. Afterwards, the world had went dark.

Night on the Christina II
High up in the calm, night sky floating with the blue clouds was the magnificent vessel known as The Christina II. The flying airship was unlike any other airship. It looked as big as the moon as it crossed the sky. Its engines hummed softly, and the gleam of magic that hung the vessel in the air shimmered. It was a great, white ship with gold trim which artistically swirled like waves from the sea. The decks were made of oak wood, and the railings were of steal. Steam flowed out of the row of six stacks.

He looked at me, slightly spooked by my outburst and concerned. I looked to his sides in search of Natch, which he must have noticed. Sighing, he relaxed and prodded at the burning timbers with a stick. "Natch went off to find more food. He's been gone for about an hour now, but he's been hunting all morning. He had come back at one point to drop off breakfast." Notch gestured to something over the fire, which turned out to be meat of some sort as I focused upon it. It took Azrael a while to find the hidden entrance into the house, where a small light flickered in the darkness, but eventually he found it hidden behind a loosely blocked off door, which lead into the basement. He descended the stairs, taking in the stench of decay wafting towards the opening he created. As he walked, he kicked against a few bullet casings scattered on the floor, stepping over Zombies with holes in their head. Someone had put up quite a fight in here, but seeing how they didn't even throw out the corpses, Azrael guessed that they weren't as successful as they would've liked.
Eventually he found a man with a major bite wound, a big hole in his head and a gun next to his lifeless hand in the corner of the room.
He looked at the man with a mixture of pity and envy. Pity because he fought so bravely and yet failed and envy because he had seen the end of this madness. Something Azrael himself had yet to find the courage for.

It was the cook who heard it, rushing to quarter-deck while others were immersed in duties below deck or otherwise frantically pulling sails in arm over arm on slippery yards.
There she was, a dark lump among shadowed masts and hatches, unmoving.
Not again, the cook thought as she stepped heavily, slowly to her. The Cicero needed not another death among the crew.
Blood could be differentiated from long hair, puddling out halo-like around her head, and that’s when the cook knew she wasn’t one of their own.
A sailrunner carries her through a growing crowd, a mass of bodies muttering over the thunder and the rain.
Each drop of blood is washed away as it hits the deck. Lightning shows her face through sheets of downpour, cheek bruised and swollen to her eye, hair plastered across her face. Her head lolls back in the sailrunner’s arms as he walks, as he pushes through the door.
She looks as pale as death under the swinging of the medic’s lantern.

The EmpyreanTo the average layperson, the planes are divided into three parts: the Earth, heaven above, and hell below. Many dracons and others are vaguely aware of other planes, or that what they call heaven and hell is better described as several different but related planes. Among mages, there is widespread knowledge of the four elemental planes as well as that of the astral and ethereal ones; even apprentices can name those last two.The Empyrean1 hour ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
What is not known to many mages or clerics is the existence of a realm above what we normally call the heavens. It is neither the positive nor negative energy planes, nor does it have a parallel. By now, most people in the world have their mindsets locked into a sort of dualism. For every heavenly plane, there is a hell. The positive and negative planes oppose each other, as do the elemental ones, though that last one is a false division. This realm is not so much beyond the other planes as it is above them. It is the highest point possible in all the planes, inso
