Entry #16: MathWe have a test in math next week, but Mr. Nall says it’ll be short, so the rest of the period will be time for us to work on make-up assignments. I don’t have to do make-ups though, so I guess I’ll use the rest of the class period to draw or something. Also, I sort of made a friend in math? We talk to each other occasionally, but only in class. She wears cowgirl boots, and has pretty good grades like me. I don’t think we’ll ever become friends outside of class, but it’s nice to have someone to talk to in class.Entry #16: Math1 day ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This

It was a cold autumn day and school was going to start in about a week. I was sitting at home savoring the time I had before school started, thinking of one more grand thing to do before school started I had the great idea of taking some time out of my house and to go out into the forest! Not really planning to stay out there over night I decided to stuff a small snack into my bright blue jacket's pocket. It took about 30 minutes to reach the forest's (offical) entrance and I smiled starting my s

Voltaire sat by himself on a bench looking upon the statue of the king, his king. He huffed a bit in frustration. So far it appeared that the Moon Children preferred to keep to themselves while both Hatori and Yuudai seemed disinterested in associating themselves with him. It made sense that those demons wanted to stay away from him, but as for the Moon Children it was nothing like what the legends said about them. He wondered if it was him or the fact that they were the only ones left of their kind. He held his scarred hand against his chest near his heart. He knew what it was like to be alone like that, but part of him felt guilty because it was nothing compared to having one's race sacrifice themselves for the greater good. In the end he just had to assume they were bitter about the situation, but part of him knew it was him. If it was him that was the problem then what was their warrant for such disassociation.
Voltaire stood up and

He snagged drink from the small fridge before sitting down on a chair. Both of his feet were sore from milling about nonstop. It felt good to take a break. Mirage leaned back, enjoying the sounds of nothing. He sipped his drink to let it sizzle in the back of his throat. It was amazingly peaceful.

Great smoke billowed out as several foundries smelted and processed ore dug up in the nearby mining pits. The foundries produced a privilege of black and gray smoke trails that taunted the old guns that had not felt the seduction of fire and combustion since its death long ago. Juno had come a long way to get to the mountainside. She had been on an expedition up north when her old injury flared up. She had done all the usual things to try and sooth the aching shoulder but nothing worked. After a few days of chronic pain she decided that she needed to do something about it even if it meant abandoning her pet project.
Instead of heading straight back to camp she decided to give it a wide berth. She didn’t like her tribemates seeing her at her most vulnerable. Hell, she didn’t even like it when Cricket was around. She always went out of her way to make a point of using her right arm sometimes in excess to make sure people didn’t get the idea that she

The mountains soon gave way to lush forests as Morzan and Ragnarök flew north toward Gringsford. As evening fell, the snow turned to cold rain. Morzan sat silently, contemplating what he would do to King Roland.
Sensing his Rider's thoughts, Ragnarök said, Be sure to leave some for me!
Don't worry. I certainly will!
It was late at night when they finally arrived at the coastal city of Gringsford. A castle stood atop a cliff that overlooked the forlorn town below.
"That must be where he lives." Morzan muttered to himself. He reached out with his mind, probing the occupants of the castle and searching for Roland's location. Most were just guards and staff. Finally, he found the king's consciousness on one of the castle's upper floors.
Alright, take me down. Once you drop me off, stay in the air and out of range of their weapons. , instructed Morzan.
Alright, but be careful. Ragnarök replied.
The dragon descended and silently
Flaw: Burning PassionThe door was opened with a creek of a noise, allowing the invaders to head into the room with their blades and weapons into the air. With an uneasy atmosphere, they all frowned and were worried. Some of them were bucking their knees upon this point but Azar growled upon them, "Keep still!" he whispered upon them and they nodded as silently as they could. But they couldn't still and kept making so much noise. The building that they were in was one room and in total darkness. There wasn't a single light around the place and this kept the soldiers of Ajax worried sick. As they scattered and spread out within the room, keeping to their weapons closer to them, the lights suddenly went on. Blinding them only for a second as the soldiers closed their eyes. Raising their eyes to block out the light above them, all they could see was darkness except for Azar who growled.Flaw: Burning Passion1 day ago in Short Stories More Like This

“My priorities? Are you out of your mind?” I growled.
“Honestly? I probably am, but that doesn’t change the point.” My guard, Hadrian retorted. I snorted and that caused my other guard, Kael to laugh quietly. Hadrian glared at him over his shoulder.
“We’re trying to persuade her to stay in the castle grounds remember?” Hadrian hissed, “Not give her encouragement to leave.” Kael stood relaxed, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword, the other propping himself up against the side of the stable.
“She’ll leave either way.” He shrugged, “With our help or not.” At that Hadrian had to admit defeat. It was the truth, didn’t matter if they tried to stop me. There was 100 different ways out of the castle grounds and I knew them all. Hadrian sighed and moved out of my way.
“Fine. You can leave.” He said, picking his helm up from

I let out a stiff groan and the ringing of the clock caught my attention, of course, I huffed and rolled back over. But the shaking only got more violent. I don't even know how she managed to reach me, ignoring she was on the side of my bed, but I was five bunks up.
"Jeze," Sybil pushed me again and I cracked one eye open. The girl gave a small sigh of relief and sat up a little straighter. "Finally you're awake. The clock just went off, its curfew for the humans which means scavenging for us."
Sitting up, I let my messy blonde hair fall into my face. I made no move to brush it away and I looked to Sybil with my violet eyes. "I heard the bell," I said, raising my hands above my head. My cropped nightshirt rose to a few inches above my bellybutton. I blinked tiredly and saw the others were just still getting up.
I should probably explain a few things, before everything starts up, shouldn't I? Well, in our little society, we like to stay close together. Meaning most o

I kneel in the large treasure room within the cave and place a few pelts on the ground, lining a small hole in the ground. I’ve spent the past few hours with a sax widening it out and deepening it for just this purpose.
“This will make a nice cradle”, I say to myself. I stand up from the ground and my hands rush down to hold my swollen belly, it has been giving me quite the amount of discomfort recently. I survey my work in the cavern. I have spent my time here making a good amount of bedding in the heated cavern at the entrance that opens to the maze that protects, but now that we have sealed off the tunnel that the Niflungar, or Niffies, used it has warmed enough in here that now we can comfortably sleep in the dimly lit cavern here. We need a few more pelts and skins for bedding

He let the heavy door slam shut behind him as he entered the long hall. The sound echoed off the white marble castle walls as it did so. With tired eyes and dragging feet, Fox made his way down the corridor.
As he stifled a rather loud yawn, something suddenly caught his eye. At the end of the hall (which he now was very nearly at) sat a small table. Peeking up from behind the table were the tips of a pair of black kitty ears.
Fox’s mood slightly improved. There were several cats running about this castle, most of whom were friendly. They were also very soft and cuddly. Maybe hugging one could make him feel a bit less crummy!
He picked up his pace so as to reach the end of the hall faster. Once he did, he stopped short in front of the table and reached behind

No dreams. There was nothing while I slept. When I woke it felt as if no time had passed. But even then I was not sure if I was truly awake. I still felt groggy, worse than I ever have been before. The humans were able to make a better analysis of my condition, and found more internal damage than initially thought. But, luckily I would make a full recovery in four weeks at the earliest. Meanwhile I had to remain still for the entire time while they brought food and water. The food didn't taste as good as fresh meat did, but food was food. The water came in a circular dish and was bland, compared to natural

Footsteps echoed off stone walls as they ran down the corridors of the castle accompanied by heavy breathing and a pounding heart. Class was in session, but a lone figure raced through the empty halls. Stopping at a wall, she looked either way before pressing her finger against one of the jagged stones until her pale skin broke. Wincing but having no time to mind the pain, she pressed her blood onto a stone with a marking on it that matched those on the arms of everyone but her.
She stepped back as the wall before her slid back. Taking in a breath, she pushed it forward and slipped through the crack, sealing it shut behind her. The narrow hall was already lit with burning torches and she listened to them crackle in time with her footsteps as she broke into a run for the second time. Eventually, it descended into a room with elegant red rugs and cavelike walls. The decor was immediately unsettling, skeletons and jars of strange creatures littering the walls.
Not Gonna Happen l Mare DefenseThe day had started so wonderfully for Acka and his mares. They had found a perfect place to bed down for a few days by the river’s edge. It was green there with an abundance of food and water to keep the group healthy. Recently Wendy has been a bit tense, but Acotas equated it to the stallion that had passed through a few days before, through handsome the chestnut leopard appaloosa had been too young and inexperienced to be any sort of threat to the mature chocolate palomino.
