"You know, you're really getting along with your daughter."
"It's only natural," the sorceress said, "After all, I am her mother."
"I understand," Malica replied, "I'll really try to slim down. I'm running out of extra robes, anyhow."
Somehow, Cathy hated hearing those words. She quickly said, "Actually, I'd rather you didn't. I mean, you're still as awesome in my eyes no matter what anyone says."
"Tell that to my ex. He's somewhere, far away, and now I'm involved in...shall we say...rather unfortunate circumstances."

The campus was in... chaos.
That night saw Nel in the combat training room, picking up a sword to practice with, to keep herself awake with... when the shouts and cries began. An attack, it seemed? The cries were really too shrill to be anything else, pulling her out of concentration, loose hair falling around her cheeks from the bun she'd put it up into. Crawling along the walls and through the door, surrounding the lights... shadows. Shadows with their grasping hands and tendrils, taking formless shapes with guttural screams.
What a night... what a night.
Though Nel would like to think she was strong enough to face this alone, to stagger her way through the masses and get back to her room, not thinking too much on what form they took... or if they remanifested. However, upon exiting to the cold night air, she squinted and realized... they were everywhere. The trek toward the dorms wasn't going to be easy, it was going to be full of those s
HOG/Mimpossible Serverance PrologueA woman walked with her head held high in a place that seemed to be the exact opposite of where she should be. She was dressed in white and pale blue with pale blonde hair piled on top of her head, while her current location on the other hand was dark, dingy, with twisting shadows and various bits of architecture that looked like a small child had had a fit and thrown them around like building blocks. Yet it appeared to have been a very orderly tantrum, as every bridge and set of stairs led somewhere.HOG/Mimpossible Serverance Prologue9 hours ago in Introductions & Chapters
Yet, she walked through all this without stopping, when a lesser person would have least been creeped out. You’d almost think she was expecting something.
“I’m surprised to see you here.” commented a voice from the shadows. “I’d have thought you were too high and mighty for somewhere like this.”
The woman didn’t seem to pay the words any mind, instead coming to a stop and looking at where the voice had come from.

So this is Amayra. Rather drab, I'm afraid. Zephyr...is very strange. Not the average strange, mind you, but strange in a way that I can't quite place.
Well, she told me to find an inn, because she'd heard that Human towns have inns. (What an obvious thing to say!) I went to get us a room at an inn near the gate while she went "exploring." I hope she doesn't get into any trouble...
I finished sparring with the new recruits. (They could hardly hold their swords up. Sheesh!) I went walking up a street and heard a voice behind me. "Hello Myam!" Whoever it was, he or she was definitely not from around here. (Who mispronounces the word "ma'am?") I turned around. It was a young Harpy. "What do you want?" "You dropped your sword." I looked at what she was holding and there was my sword. I could've sworn it was on my belt a moment ago! "Thank you, I guess. See you in the next town!" "I'm Zephyr, by the way!" A Grimalkin walked over. "Zephyr, what are yo

A look of confusion was upon his face as he stared around at the crowded room. "...Well, I am glad to see this place is lively..." a smile came upon his lips.
Lena went to him, throwing her arms around him in an embrace. "Welcome back!" Eleanor smiled at him.
"Thank you," he said, setting the bags he was carrying on the floor, and hugging Lena again. "Come inside," Lena said, "you are so cold." He entered fully, and Lena closed the door behind him.
"How was your travel?" Erich asked excitedly.
"It was wonderful," he said. "I've seen so many places and interesting people."
Eleanor took his hand, leading him to the kitchen. "Have some tea, and tell about it."

"Not only about you. He's taught me a lot of things since I've been here," Lyonesse answered.
"May I ask why you're here speaking with me and not him?"
"It seems our discussion is over," Nelea said.

My work has prooven to be almost in vain. I do not know where to go from here on out.
Should I keep digging?
Is it a waste of time?
All I know is that I have found some computer parts lying deep in the rubble. I do not know what they represent, but they are deffinately computer parts because I recognize the sockets for the other parts to be installed to them.
Today was a complete nightmare. Because I spent all my day yesterday trying to dig through the stupid tunnel, today all my muscles were sore, and I could barelly dig any significant distance. What`s even more painful, is the fact that one of my shovels broke and the other wasn`t sharpened well enough. Why am I even doing this anymore, I just don`t understand. But I still need to continue. I want to find what`s hidden behind all this rubble.
After a good meal, I shall go to sleep. Tomorrow will be my final push towards the goal. Hopefully...I will

So S’ray was just one person… “Why are you using plural pronouns for… them?”

“Oh.” Fin picked up Krinos from where she was flopped. “Well that’s ‘cause they’re non-… they don’t – they’re not male or female.”

Maki's eyes snapped open, though she didn't move or make a sound. Taking a deep breath, she glanced around, then slowly, silently sat up. She was shaking, tears stinging her eyes as she made sure everyone else was asleep. She got up, moving as silently as she could, and opened the door to the outside steps, silently closing the door behind her before sitting on the steps. She let the tears flow then, unable to hold them back much longer anyways, her body and soul shaking. She pulled down her sleeve, examining the numerous scars that criss-crossed her skin. Marks from blades, from claws were the most numerous, though she also bore various degrees of burn scars as well. There were even scars that showed that she had been struck with a whip, skin tearing enough to leave scars. Maki shuddered, pulling the sleeve back up into place and hugging her knees as she started to cry, remembering not only the physical pain of her past, but the emotional as well, her mind returning to s

She remained mostly with Keith to make sure he didn't try to kill himself by working too hard while recovering. The previous day had been cold, windy, and wet as hell with rain and snow coming down and freezing her to her bones as she fed and watered the horses. As a result she had stayed in bed that morning, completely ignoring Keith as he left to take care of the fence. She came out after he'd been out there for a few hours, trusting Dusty, Durango, and The Lady to let her know if something was wrong. With a ya

Just on the horizon, he could see the outline of his hometown, Aelton. He smiled briefly, his journey was nearing an end. Before the war, the village was a beautiful and prosperous town that had from what he could distantly remember, been left in ruin. The streets used to be filled with the laughter of children, housewives drying their daily launder over the banisters of the balconies, and the local farmers dragging their wheelbarrows down the main roads to the markets. The smell of freshly baked bread wafted through the thinly draped windows and into the hungry souls of the villagers. Maybe his favorite part of his old town was that the people were all distinctly unique in their own sp

He tried to look innocent and I rasped, "What is your name?"

I nodded and continued down.
The prince was waiting at the bottom.

It has been four years since Adam was defeated by the Second Chance and Gensokyo. Incidents had continued to drag the residents of Gensokyo into all sorts of conflict during these years. The most recent one took place only a month ago, where Reimu and friends had all set out to the moon to stop the Lunarians from invading once more as well as to stop Junko from taking on the Lunar Capital. Reimu and Yukari had told the Second Chance survivors that they weren't allowed to participate in incidents unless it directly threatened their lives. Therefore, Devon and the others had never gone after any of the culprits.

A week after Rihanna left, I decided I would go on a little adventure to the land of Yab. It was a long ways away, especially for a butterfairy.
I set out in the cold wind with a hooded coat on. It started raining, and it was dangerous for a tiny bug like me to be out in the rain lest my little blue wings get ripped up by the plummeting water droplets. Now I had to walk rather than fly around like I usually did with my wings wrapped up behind me.
Once I was a few miles outside the town, I entered the long grass off the beaten path for protection, and dodged puddles as I went. Suddenly, I had the feeling something was watching me. I flipped my hood down. "Hello?"
I realized who it must be. I rolled my eyes and sighed, c
