The Future of Magic Part 1If I ever got a gravestone, it would probably look something like this: Kyle Sun. Age 12. Died from the built-up boredom of the idea of going to Summer camp. The Future of Magic Part 13 hours ago in Short Stories More Like This
That's probably why I don't have a gravestone. First, I'm not dead. Second, Summer camp is never what you expect it to be. Especially as the Observatory.
The most common question my mom asks me during the Summer is always, Kyle? Do you want to go to Summer camp? No? Well, too bad, you're going. So it should come as no surprise that yet again, this year, I am going to Summer camp.
It's called the Observatory Summer Camp, and as far as I know, it's a two hour drive.
I don't know what I was expecting. A school building? A house? But whatever I was expecting, this was very clearly not it.
The first thing I noticed about the Observatory was that it was tall. Not oh-wow-it's-taller-than-the-average-person tall. It was skyscraper-tall, all metal and glass and paint on the outside,

The sounds beyond the walls were ones the boy recognized, though they had come on suddenly and without warning. They were louder than ever, and the familiar blend of the prisoners’ angry shouts and the blaring of alarms were accompanied by the crash and bursting sounds of destruction. Whatever was going on above was no ordinary prison riot.
“Did something happen?”
It had been sixteen months and sixteen days since he’d been moved to his new cell. Everything in it was white, reflecting the white light of the ceiling too well. Everything w
Kuro Shiro (oneshot)Krystphr ran through the thick forest of towering oaks over thousands of years old. There was a demon chasing him. It had forced its way into his house looking for something. Kurai hane it had said. In a land of only light and purity, this thing had burst into his house saying he had a dark feather. The green-eyed teen dashed through the thick brambles, forcing his way past the prickly green plants that barred his way. His heart was pounding in his ears as he ran, panting, through the thick treeline. Krystphr could hear someone-something-chasing him. It was closing the distance quickly as it followed him. Turning to look behind him, Krystphr saw it. The thing looked like a human man and if he hadn’t known better, he would have thought it was one. It had dark brown hair and shocking violet eyes. When it saw him look, the demon grinned, showing its sharp white fangs. Turning his eyes back to where he was runn

Year 760 of The New Age, early winter
The snow was late this year and Melark was glad about it. Even when nature was sleeping, he still had a feeling with it, like a connection, a string he was holding.
He became aware of the little things around him, the seeds in the earth, the energy in the trees. Yet it confused him, he wasn’t sure what he could, what he was allowed to do or even what it was.
The golden stag was walking on a relaxed pace through the herd. he had a day off and normally he would go for a walk, yet he was determined to learn more about what he had felt and also what he had achieved in his months of loneliness.
So he went to visit the one and only stag that could help him, the old Magic council member Huisha. He was certain he could at least explain a few things to him. He was in the council for a reason.
He walked up to the place where Huisha would normally b
bloody noses and blood-red faces.Within the infirmary wing, a familiar face had appeared once again after finally getting out. It'd appear that Marvie was injured once again, his ribs acting up once more from his previous escapades from the night before. The one with Niko and the hooded figure. This time he was shirtless since a salve had to be applied to his chest, then wrapped around lighting in some gauze. It wasn't too embarrassing for him, although if Svetlana knew she'd probably freak out and rush to his side. "Jeez...I guess this pushes practice back another week.." The excuse he made for his sudden appearance again was that he was a bit roughed up during the evacuation of the Great Hall, not the fact that he hid in a cramped closet with another student.bloody noses and blood-red faces.22 hours ago in Short Stories More Like This

River of BloodThey ran through the woods hand in hand. Their feet pummelled the ground with every sprinting step. Their hearts beat together rhythmically as they wove through the thin, tall trees; the evening light caressing their dirty faces. An arrow, the length of an arm, buried itself deep in the mother’s leg, her daughter crying out to her to keep going. Men, in blood red uniforms, swarmed in, encircling the mother and daughter. A man with a small amount of stubble reached out and grabbed the girl, pulling her away and holding her hands behind her back. Another one stepped behind the kneeling mother, taking hold of her hair with one hand and holding a knife to her throat with the other. “No! Mum!” The girl squealed. Tears cascading down her small face. The man with the knife slid the blade across the mother’s throat, blood spilling down her chest and from her mouth. “Mum!” The young girl screamed, as she watched her mother crumple to the ground. "Your luck has ran out, Crystal." Ryker smirked, raising his blade. Crystal took a step back, trying to increase the distance between him and Ryker. Gulping nervously, she tried to figure out a way out of this mess. But there seems to be no way. They were at the narrow hallway with pipes and steams on either side of them. Crystal thought about using that to her escape as the alarm set off. Hearing a clank, Ryker turned around for a split second. Crystal saw her chance and grabbed Ryker from behind. She then shoved him into the pipe hole and the steam came out. Heating up his face as Crystal walked to the other side of him. Smiling, she ran away and Ryker got his head out. He was angrily mad even. As he looked around for Crystal, two Shard members ran towards him. He shouted at them "Find me Crystal! and bring her to me." The Shards nodded and split off into different directions leaving Ryker alone in the narrow hallway as the light turns to red. The s

She lifted him upward and kicked him into the air. Then she jumped after him, only moving a few inches off the ground.
"What?" Rakita screamed. One more attempt, she could only jump a few inches into the air. The liger stops his counterattack, watching his girlfriend jump endlessly a few inches above ground. The skunk eventually returned to the ground, standing beside his friend.
"Max, what the hell is she doing?" the skunk asked. Max shrugs his shoulders.
"Maybe she's trying to do jumping jacks?"
"Wouldn't her arms have to connect at some point?" the skunk reminds. Once again, Max shrugs his shoulder. He really wanted to know what
Project: Reinventing Taren (Prologue)Taren was kind of a dork. However, he was the kind of dork that made others smile. He had short blond hair that he often dyed red, and was a bit tall. He was a huge smart-aleck, and always had a jocular perspective on life. He always enjoyed making others laugh. Anybody who talked to him never left without a chuckle to themselves. Taren enjoyed this sort of thing, and never grew tired of doing it. In fact, he had a dream to make people all over the U.S. laugh, and he knew just how to go about it. At 20, he started doing stand-up comedy. He worked at it for 5 years, saving up large amounts of money. And then, on the 5-year anniversary of Taren's stand-up debut, he announced his true plan. He was going to travel the world, documenting the strangest and funniest things he could find, and posting them to a blog on Tumblr. The menacing newcomer must have stood at least eight feet tall, with huge muscles rippling over his already large frame. His head was completely bald, but this was barely noticeable thanks to the intricate tattoo which covered half his face. The enormous man was clothed in the fashion of most of the peasantry, in brown and gray, but he wore no shirt, only a kind of jackety...vest...thing...which left his chest largely exposed over his pants and boots. Frankly, Eli had thought the hooded stranger who had barged in earlier to be the most frightening person he had ever met...until he saw this new guy.
Perhaps the most intimidating feature the intruder boasted was the (frankly ridiculously) enormous warhammer that he wielded. This weapon was longer than Eli was tall, and probably weighed twice as much as the farmboy to boot. It had a long, sturdy looking shaft with a massive, terrifying hammer weight on one end. It eclip

The Peacemaker turned his head, curious as to what exactly had happened, but nonetheless satisfied. The cameras in the city had streamed the entire series of events to him live, and he laughed in glee as the rebels died one by one. He had lost coverage when Cyclone and Statik had entered the jungle, but the sight of them returning into the city confirmed it for him. His son was dead. What a relief.

The following night, Moonlight City was met with a huge thunderstorm. Trees were almost uprooted, the skyscrapers were bombarded by heavy pellets of rain, whilst Sicari just lay in her bed, fully clothed, thinking about the events of the previous day. It wasn't the sound of the rain that was keeping her awake - A sense of guilt unlike any she'd ever felt was coming upon her - had she, by not killing Crimson, doomed Paradia? No... it wouldn't have mattered. Sicari also had a terrible sense of foreboding... she sat up in bed and stared out of the soaked window. She slowly stood up and rested her hands on the windowsill. She thought of the vampires, the strange spider like creatures, and then of the mysterious men who attacked them days back. She then thought of something so plainly obvious.
"It's all related..." said Sicari aloud. "The men - they were under possession of the vampires! So were those hugmis!" She turned around and slapped her own face. J
