Daily Deity #49 FuriesAh, what a way to come back by talking about revenge seeking bat women who fly like bats out of the Underworld.Daily Deity #49 Furies11 hours ago in Short Stories More Like This
Ah, yes, that would be the Furies, also called the Erinyes. They are also called the "Kindly ones," rather ironically, since these three ladies were bent on revenge. It's more fitting when they are called the "angry ones." The contradiction is one that I find extremely interesting.
Now, the three Furies are not technically monsters, but I figured that they were monstrous enough to give me enough jurisdiction to put them up for Monster Monday.
The three sisters are children of Gaia and Uranus. They were also some of the first children born to these two primordial entities, which makes them the siblings of the first Giants and Cyclopes, even Aphrodite. There names are Alecto (remembering anger), Tsiphone(the avenger), and Megaera (the jealous one.) Kind of appropriate names when your job description entails that you go and exact revenge on wayward mortals.
The Furies also looke

"Well it's showtime." Banshee said.
"How are we going to find a possessor in this room?" Lisa asked.
"Help me!!!" A voice cried in the room.
"That's my sister!" Banshee cried, "I know that scream anywhere."
But the moment the girls stepped in the room a giant figure made out of clocks and gears landed in the center as the floor turned into a giant clock face.
"Ah welcome." The figure said smiling his clock face, "I see you came to save your sister is it not?"
The figure rung a bell and coming down wrapped in chains was Time Warden struggling.
"TIKAL!!" Banshee yelled.
"I would like to release her." The possessor said, "But since I'm a fair possessor unlike the other ones you faced, I'll give you a chance to free her. If you can beat 12 waves

He never knew his father to be easily impressed, especially by someone so lowly in position. In fact, he often found it quite difficult to get a simple "decent" from him. He wasn't the complimentary type, but this... This occasion was one of special merit.
"Truly fascinating," his father continued as he circled the glass coffin, running his gruff fingers over the glittering surface. "There are no imperfections in its face and-," he leaned in close, inhaling the scent of minerals, pine, and fresh water, "it's never been buried, just like you said. Where exactly did you find this?"
"Deep in the Methuselah Caves," the ancient merchant answered, his voice barely above a whisper. "It was nearly covered in water by the time I found it."
"Well, it is a good thing that you discovered it when you did," his father remarked. "Had you been any later, I'm sure

Micah was busy adjusting her belongings. If she was going to have to share her room with her cousin, she figured it was about time to move some of her stuff around anyway. She didn't realize the window had been left open until a piece of paper came floating in, landing innocuously on her bed.
"What's this?" Micah picked up the paper to discover it was completely covered, from front to back, in writing. It looked like a page from somebody's journal. Normally Micah wouldn't be reading this, but it had flown through her window, right to her. How could she not? She began examining the page.

He's being held too close, and embrace that leaves no room between them. Ironworker forces his lips to Icaro's, putting him through a hot, moist sensation. Icaro pulls away with a gasp, face flushed.

His face concealed behind a black welding mask, he didn’t flinch as countless sparks erupted from the sheet in every direction, showering the basement in light. In his other hand, he held a pair of black pliers with which he had a tight grip on the bronze sheet as he repeatedly smashed into it with his hammer. He lifts the sheet of metal to his protected face, inspecting it closely before dunking it in a nearby vat of water. Steam roared out the vat as the metal rapidly cooled. Once the surging steam stopped, he lifted the dripping wet piece of metal out and, with great care, placed it on a table, where countless different pieces and parts where wildly laid out. A storm raged in Sara's heart, which didn't even have to do with the revelation that Oleg was the tsar of Baikalia; in hindsight, she could've guessed that. The knowledge that the overly fancy man with his oddly white hair was responsible for her mother's death and the recent attack on Sylene that had almost desecrated Zemyna's temple was what set her ablaze. "You killed my mother, syknaskyle!" she shouted, running towards him. "I will rip-"

Sara stopped reluctantly, trying to kill the count with her eyes instead.

The Silver Woods were always such a lovely place this time of year, well then again they were rather lovely all year long, but even as autumn yellowed the grass and reddened the leaves on the trees, the Silver Wood seemed eternal. Nothing hardly ever changed, from the thin layer of fog on the ground to the silvery trees and bluish shrubs, the entire place often seemed extraordinarily magical. That was likely why Bones enjoyed it so much. The place helped the old stallion retreat from the hum drum of every day life, and allowed him to daydream without worry. Silver leaves drifted from the trees, resting in the hollows along his back and hips, seeming almost like dainty silver birds catching a ride on the speckled grey blue stallion. He seemed to belong here, somehow ancient yet ageless and eternally cool of temperament.
Bones plodded along past the trees, head low as per usual. His ears were out to the sides, relaxed, as he headed for his fav

My name is Jin and I live in a small, insignificant town called Pazallo. Surrounding this town is a forest, but you are not allowed to go deep into the forest for whatever reason. (I have asked why several times and no one has answered the question properly.) I am 14 years old and I have only a few good friends. The main reason I don't have many friends is that I believe in the supernatural being real, specifically magic. Most people ridicule me with insults like 'Magic is for babies, Jin.' or from the more educated 'Are you stuck in Medieval times, Jin?'(The exceptions being my mother and my friends.) Sometimes I go to the forest to clear my head of all the petty insults I get or other worries I have, the place is just so... mystifying.
