Uncertain FutureA blue cartoon cat sat on the grass, wind gently blew through her fur, while the sun had begun to set. It was her least favorite moment of the day. The sunset always foretold a horrific event. The female patted her stomach. It had been a few days since the doctors told her and her husband she was pregnant.Uncertain Future10 hours ago in Short Stories More Like This
“Where are you Liggy?” The feline mumbled, lowering her head. Her mate left a note reading:
I’m sorry for you to have found out like this, but I’m leaving. Not of because of you or our baby. It’s because of me. I’m not ready to be a father. Despite all we went through, all the hurt, and the entire struggle our teen years presented us, this is something I can’t overcome with just you. Don’t come looking for me. Until I feel ready, I cannot be with you; only once I’m ready will I return.
Love, Max Liger (aka Liggy)
P.S.: Tell Kite, Felina, and everyone else that I’m sorry…

An AnniversarySvetlana hadn't been focused in any of her classes today. Not even in classes she usually like, like Defense Against the Dark Arts or charms or History of Magic. She's been vacant eyed and detached, looking surprised, like she'd been pulled away from somewhere else whenever spoken to her. When asked what was the matter (though the only person to do that had been Marvie, since she had no other friends) she would stared at the questioner, opened her mouth, 'umm'ed and insisted she was fine. Nothing was the matter. An Anniversary1 day ago in Short Stories More Like This
But,that was a bold faced lie. If she were fine she wouldn't be acting so distant. She wasn't even snapping or yelling at anyone like she usually did. She waved her hand dismissively when it was mentioned, did she have to be the mean little Russian girl every day? She was a little irritated at the interrogation, but it didn't rise past whatever emotion was currently controlling her, making her act the way she was today. Another mention of her day's behavior and she heave
A snipit, tell me what you think. Well, how do I say this? It wasn't my fault, it was our fault. Is it so wrong to want to start a revoloution? In reality it was all their fault. If they hadn't said that we were scene wannabe's and emos they wouldn't have been hurt. Well you're probably confused as to what is going on, I'm going to tell you exactly what the hell is going on in this moment. Right now I am sitting outside the principal's office with, Oliver Sanders and Melly Brookes. Oliver Sanders is this weird arsonist who set the science lab on fire three times last year. That's right, three times. Melly Brookes is this total bitch who has blond curly hair, a smug face, blue eyes, a purse instead of a backpack, a shit ton of concealer and a black eye. I gave her that black eye and yes, I'm quite proud of my work. The thing you read earlier will be explained later in the story but right now I'm telling you how it began so don't put this down, it will get really good I promise. Aftermath of a FightThe flat was usually rather quiet this time of day with most of the adults still at work, and today was no exception, save for the sudden activity in the kitchen area. A flood of water came rushing out of the faucet with a hiss, puffs of steam rising from the scalding temperature. Nick’s hands were flushed a red hue from this, but it was relatively easy to ignore, considering the foam of bubbles from where he vigorously scrubbed a plate with a towel. After all, whatever pain he was in from turning on the water a little too hot was nothing compared to what was in store for him when his dad came home from work.Aftermath of a Fight2 days ago in Short Stories More Like This
He knew how this sort of thing worked. The call that came personally from the principal, which probably interrupted some sort of meeting his mom had been in to make matters worse, would send his old man home from work a couple of hours sooner than typical in an effort to beat his son home. By some sort of divine intervention, the bus had taken the alternate route it sometime

I looked outside, it was early and I was preparing the morning breakfast for my sick mother. Outside, I noticed birds singing and the sun melting the morning dew off every blade grass, another beautiful day preparing to unfold as I take care of my sick mother upstairs, which I didn’t mind. I actually love doing it. I prepare the tea on the stove and wait for the kettle to whistle at me it’s ready. I turn the stove on to make her favorite eggs and bacon. I out the bacon on a separate pan and cook both at once, was letting the sweet smell overwhelm me as it sizzles on the stove top. I glance back outside everything looks so perfect it saddened me to think everything is so perfect, so beautiful and yet my sick mother can’t even get out of bed to watch as the day unwinds. The sweetest lady in the world sick and so fragile that even the smallest touch you’d think she would dissolve in thin air, out of the world she once an
You Are My SunshineLagatto sat on the corner, lightly rolling a ball back and forth with one finger, looking rather downcast. It wasn't that he didn't like his mother and father; he loved them both very much, and his father did always try to spare time to play with him, but it was never enough for Lagatto. He wanted some friends. But there didn't seem to be anybody his age around. You Are My Sunshine3 days ago in Short Stories More Like This
He sighed and was about to get up and go back inside when he heard a voice beside him. “Hey, where'd you get that ball?”
He blinked and looked up to see a girl with long hair standing next to him. He wasn't sure how to answer at first, but then said in a small voice, “My dad got it for me.”
“Can I see it?” she asked, peering down at him.
“Um... sure.” He slowly lifted the ball up and gave it to her. She turned it around in her hands, her brown eyes sparkling.
“Wow, it's really cool! Hey, what's your name? My name's Hope.&
RascalMy mother held my shoulder as I looked over at the small jar of ashes simply labeled ‘RASCAL’. Today I grieve. A day of grief is expected after such an event. Expected, but never planned. When death happens you assume it will hit you right away, but it’s not that simple. It comes in layers, waves of emotion layering on throughout the coming days. Initially its shock, the inability to comprehend. Then the sadness, followed by fear, followed by anger and so on. And yet, despite knowing all this, it still hurts. No amount of preparation stops that. No matter how long you wait, the memory stays open like a wound. Hurting.Rascal3 days ago in Short Stories More Like This
This was all I could do for Rascal now. Hurt. Keeping the pain of his death alive in my mind. As though its my duty to feel for him. Yet, all I can feel is blue. His head was swimming, the world seemed to spin when he finally woke up. He felt dizzy as he sat up looking around.
Daylight streamed in from the windows, he was sitting in a small amount of the liquid he had been thrown into. The previous nights events came rushing back as his eyes widened.
“They tried to kill me!” He growled. Oh gosh… His anger faded to fear quickly. Not from nearly drowning in strange glowing liquid.
But because he was out past curfew… And still recovering.
“CHET IS GONNA KILL ME!”
He hurried home, praying to every deity he ever knew of that Chet was asleep, that he wasn’t calling in the army or the navy.
“Or whatever forces he calls in…” I’m just hoping he’s not freaking out…. Theo thought as he entered his house.
It was quiet.
He started to go passed the living room to go up to his room thinking he was home free.

Intro to my LifeMy earliest memory isn’t a happy one and I’m eight years old in it, I have literally nothing in my memory banks for the years that came before. Have I blocked them out? I don’t know. What I can remember feeling since them is the desire for unconditional love and a real family. Oh I wasn’t an orphan or anything of the sort, I was the youngest of five in a blended family where neither of us shared the same two sets of parents. While we called them mom and dad to their face for fear of retaliation we used to refer to them to ourselves as Fear Me and Hate me. Love was seriously lacking in our household growing up and to make matters worse I was the troublemaker of the family. I just couldn’t let the status quo continue, I wanted more, I felt I deserved more than just merely existence. Oh we never actually starved or went without clothing, though we grew up well below the poverty limit. There were times when we ate creamed corn and bread for dinner for nights oIntro to my Life5 days ago in Short Stories More Like This

A winter day, crisp and white, looked back at him through the glass. The house next door was a calm blue that he had always loved. He despised that he couldn’t see the gingerbread details of white from where he limply existed. He could only see a sliver of the blue house and then out into the overcast.
He heard a faint rumbling. Thunder? No, too close. A neighbor rolling out a trash bin perhaps. His breath caught at the sharp crack of his bedroom door. He hated having carpet on the stairs, you could never hear anyone coming, and the door’s ill fit in it’s frame made for a startling and unpleasant noise when opened.
“Sorry, sorry,” his mother murmured as she carried in a tray holding steaming tea, toast on an elegant saucer with a doily-like edge, and a small portable radio pitifully wrapped in tape. She sat it in front of him.
“What about the smok

The house was busy with activity. There was things to pack up, to leave behind. Lightning Mc’Queen hurried as he looked at the clock with a smirk.
“Not living in some dinky little house anymore. Hit the big time!”
He started packing up his clothes, looking at a few of the plainer looking things with distaste.
“Hmph… Who needs this? I’ll be richer than anyone can ever imagine after this!”
“Huh?” He turned around to see little Maya standing in the doorway hugging her toy racecar. “What is it?”
“... You’re really leaving?” She asked quietly, looking around the room. It was slowly getting emptier and emptier by the day. “Where are you goin’?”
“You’ve heard this a zillion times Maya, I’m going to the big Dinoco 400 race! To win the PISTON CUP!” He exclaimed. “C’mon how can THAT be forgotten?”

The stubbornness of Lightning Mc’Queen could be compared to the determination of a shark on the hunt.
Only Doc would describe Lightning as the shark’s more annoying cousin on a bad day. On a good day, Lightning’s stubbornness could be beneficial as he never gave up unless he was literally being dragged off the race track.
On a bad day… It was usually bad enough that he would still try to keep going even when it was obvious he was having issues.
Today… Was a bad day.
Lightning was falling behind, trying to pick up his pace but he couldn’t seem to speed up fast enough. Other racers were ramming into him, knocking him over.
