Her name was something no one knew. Her skin, deep blue as the midnight sky, perfectly complemented her shining golden eyes. She stood thirteen ells tall. Her voice sung high into the mountains, like sweet honey dewdrops.
We never touched, but I loved her, and I knew by her short words of lovely command, that she must have loved me too.
I let her lead me, almost like a creature on a leash. My young eyes had finally found some solace from the cruel place of a human world.
She ruled over all of the untamed forest. She once thought aloud that she wished to meet another one like her, a very long time ago.
Her dark blue figure was muscular and powerful. She had the world at her fingertips. Often, she would make it rain molten chunks of sky. She was never happy, her ey
White CatThis was at least the thirtieth time I had to climb this tree. I don't know who's cat this is or why I keep bothering with it, especially considering I'm highly allergic to cats and the snow. But without fail I drag myself out into the freezing snow, climb this tree to retrieve this black cat, and climb back down. I do not think about it anymore, it's second nature to me. I feel like it's all I ever do anymore, go out into the snow and get this cat. Once I am finally about to get comfortable again, that damn (pardon my French) cat gets stuck in the tree again. I tried to just leave it in the tree once, but the cat did not move. The cat stayed there without eating or drinking, I'm not even sure if it was breathing, while snow piled up on it. Even though I despise cats and snow, I could not find it in my heart to let the poor creature stay up in that tree. I would bring the cat inside to warm up every time I got it out of the tree, I even gave the feline some food and water. But the catWhite Cat9 minutes ago in Short Stories More Like This
Knuckles Boom chapter 6 (Sonic Boom Fanfic)They all slept late the next morning. By the time Sonic got up, and dragged out to the little cafe for a cup of coffee, the breakfast rush had ended. All the tables were empty except one, and that was occupied by Amy, Tails, Knuckles and Sticks. Sonic ordered his own cup and breakfast, then sat in the remaining chair. "Hey."
"Hey," everyone responded.
Sonic stirred cream and five packets of sugar into his coffee. "So, anybody have any idea what that statue did to us yesterday?"
Knuckles shook his head and sighed.
Tails sat up a little straighter. "It communicates with us on electronic frequencies that exactly matched the patterns of the neurons in our brains. Since that's different for everyone, the statue tuned itself to each of us automatically. Really amazing."
"It was psychic and evil!" Sticks exclaimed. "It put more voices in my head. And pictures. I don't need anymore voices and pictures!"
"And we're all something differe

Salem paused from the slightly annoying tune he’d been whistling to glance down at Wendy. “So, little lady…How many of these guilds are supposed to be at this meeting anyhow?”
Following directions from Carla (who had been smart enough to bring a map with her before leaving their guild), their group of Anima, mages, and Keyblade wielder were on route to the scheduled meeting place for the wizard coalition.
According to Wendy, there were to be representatives from four guilds present, including Cait Shelter. The meeting was being held and hosted in a villa belonging to the guild master of the coalition’s first guild, Blue Pegasus. Apparently, the guild was known for their powerful and attractive guild members. They were often featured in magazines and a few of their members were also models. Tegan wondered why attractiveness was a requisite of being a member, but decided

The Cornered RatAn unfamiliar smell entered the nostrils of Antoine, a black rat living in an abandoned French restaurant. Unfamiliar in the sense that he had not encountered this scent before, but nonetheless one every rat should know. The Cornered Rat33 minutes ago in Short Stories More Like This
Over in the Far East, in a land called China, twelve animals had been selected to represent specific personalities, operating in a system that determined the traits of humans born in a certain year.
The Chinese zodiac.
Antoine grinned. He remembered the story of how an ancestor of his had pulled the wool over a cat's eyes and cheated the feline out of a spot on the zodiac. Said ancestor had been in a spot of trouble with the mouse-hunting beasts, and through cleverness and guile had gained himself a position more important than any that a cat could hold. There was even a saying the Chinese had, possibly with an origin unrelated to the tale, but nonetheless fitting: "The cornered rat will bite the cat."
Regardless of the proverb's origin, Antoine understood that the sce

The girl seems to ignore the grasshopper's words. Then softly, with a voice almost too quiet, she replies. "Why should I? Have you done any wrong to me?"
The grasshopper muses over this strange girl. Laughter and shouting emits from the field. Three young children, two boys and a girl, play merrily, chasing each other through the flower filled field.

It had all started when I, just days after finishing my university astronomy course, had come home to excitedly tell my dad and Barb about all I had learned. However, one thing I didn’t yet know about was an ancient tale told by my grandfather to my father, known as “The Tale of the Dragon’s Heart”.
My father had been very young, and at the time, his father, my grandfather, had been an avid stargazer; a passion that he somehow knew would be passed down through our family to come at last to me. My grandfather would sit for hours on a warm, clear summer night, looking at the
Ryan Lines #2500, The TrampThe Marcaline and Western Railroad was a class 1 railroad that ran from Marcaline to London in the Disney Region of the Toon World that had a wide range of motive power, including the locomotive we're gonna talk about today, the M&W's 0-6-6-0 Mallet. #2500, often called "The Tramp", was the very first mallet locomotive built in the Toon World and the very first mallet introduced to the Toon World. #2500 was built by the Toonville Locomotive Works for the M&W as a freight hauler to replace the aging 19th century steamers as part of their "Upgrading Locomotives Project", which lasted from 1923 to 1930 to replace the 19th century engines with newer ones. The Tramp was loved by many workers because of it's smooth running and bends around sharp curves such as the Zephyr Curve, a sharp curve outside of Marcaline over the old trestle bridge leading out of town. But there was one fault, working hard. #2500 chuffs pretty loudly when working very hard on a freight train, which caused some complaRyan Lines #2500, The Tramp45 minutes ago in Short Stories More Like This

All the older children of the Monastery were sleeping after a hard day's training but most of the younger children were awake in their beds listening to the storm as it had disrupted their sleep due to their sensitive hearing. They had not yet learned how to control their ability to tune out noises.
Some of the younger children, however, were afraid of being alone and would crawl into the beds of the older children or they would seek out their siblings for comfort. Except for one little girl, she dared to do what most children would not.
The little three year old Purple slid off her bed and walked out into the corridor. Her bare little feet padded against the carpet and her long night gown swayed with her tiny strides.
