Like + Crush = LoveLike turns into a crush, then a crush turns into love, then that love turns into hurt. The cycle repeats over and over until you learn that love hurts more than it should. And when you learn that, you also learn that your love never loved you back. When you learn that, you break, break into two. One piece is the hurt and betrayal you felt. The second piece is the love you've kept. The second piece molds into you and you love again, but a shard of hurt and betrayal lays unseen on you. So when you find your second love the first piece grows reminding you of your crush and your love. That piece makes you reflect of how many times you tried and tried to get your loves attention of many years. The shard grows bigger. Over lapping the first shard. Making it hard to breath. You're sinking, drowning in your tears. The hurt takes over and you break free of the love you've given your second love. Afraid of being betrayed. The shard eventually becomes you. You can't ever love the same. You hid inLike + Crush = Love1 day ago in Free Verse More Like This

"Have you been writing in it?"
You asked one morning
When you saw the journal you got me
Sitting on my desk.
I said with a smile.
You smiled back at me,
Clearly happy that I put it to use.
"What have you been writing?"
This time your face was curious,
And that drastic difference,
As well as your obvious happiness,
Almost made me tell you.
I answered teasingly,
Pulling the journal closer to me.
How could I tell you
I've been writing poems to you,
So many poems to you,
Without sounding like a stalker
With malicious intentions
And explicit content?
I puzzled over that question
For the rest of the day,
And now that I'm at home,
With all my homework done,
With nothing to do but sit
And write another poem
On another page of this journal,
I don't have an answer.
