The tip of the father’s rod bends from a bite.
He hooks the fish then hands the rod
to his young son and he reels it in.
He smiles from ear to ear
as the fish flops around in his hands.
The father just laughs
as the fish falls back in the water.
The son looks down and starts to cry.
The father just casts out again.
In a few seconds he has another fish
and the son reels it in again.

Having and sharing beliefs can be healthy and rewarding. However, the practice of teaching your beliefs as the truth to a child by using fear, guilt and the rejection of other beliefs and possibilities, is dishonest and destructive. If you've been indoctrinated into certain beliefs, as I was, it's never too late to honestly question them while you're still alive. Refusing to question your beliefs limits your potential by adding barriers to your life, experiences and imagination. I used to frustratingly argue with people and try to convert them to what I was taught to believe. I used to be afraid of going to hell for not being a good enough believer or person.
The truth is neither you or I know what's beyond this life. There are too many contradicting religions to confidently choose from. Religious indoctrination can be dangerous. It's the main reason people are still arguing and killing one another over beliefs. Once someone has been taught what to believe, it's extremely difficult to
Writing test - Afternoon skyGolden sky realities hold hands over my soul, sliding their fingers through my heart, starlight clocks beating like toy soldier drums. Night swoops around me, like mountain rapids smashing their way into spring. The lid is closed on my jar, yet still I patiently wait, like a fly pausing for a spider.Writing test - Afternoon sky12 hours ago in Free Verse More Like This
Somehow, my heart is soaring, a silver weather balloon on a moonlight scattered evening. Freedom is most certainly beyond even the merest brush of my fingers, but close enough that it can ignite me with a flame of hope and a scent of happiness. And the clouds flutter past, beautiful and lonely, reminding me that I am lost.

Your heart weeps dread
Your soul burns
Demons have come to kill
They ravage and rape
Swirling until hearts cease to beat
Black ash left behind
Screams turn to sobs
All life choked out
Charred remains lay amongst the debris
Only with a small speck of green
Showing between the crumbling trees

Light burns the skies,
Clouds drift softly,
It mesmerizes me awfully,
The birds are also entranced,
Their sweet songs make everything enhanced,
Lights blues and soft pinks such wonders,
The wind makes the trees dance,
This morning so fine and not by chance,
It is all part of Nature’s grand plan,
But the reason is unknown to man,
The sun is so warm,
It works its sweet charm,
On the Earth,
This power cannot be labeled by worth,
The spectacle is hardly skimpy,
It’s just so simply,
Light burns the skies.
Precious ThroneThe waves came crashing on the rocks belowPrecious Throne2 hours ago in Free Verse More Like This
Nibbling away at my precious throne
As I sat atop the lonely cliff
And gazed about the endless blue vistas.
I took in my last views of the evening sun
Before it dived into the southern skies
The blood-red roof fades into a purple
As my feathered friends take off for home.
I inhale the ocean air for one last time
And fill my lungs with its salty scent.
I pick myself up
To return to my humble abode
Though my heart resists my every step
I know I have to leave
But return, I will to feast my heart
Upon this vast blue spread
Alone, everyday atop this cliff
Atop my precious little throne.

We stop to watch them dropping and twirling to the ground,
We sit in a tree, we climbed all the way to the top,
Or so we thought but when we look down it was only a foot drop.
We pick up the swirly seeds letting them fall,
Like miniature helicopters green and curiously small.
I tell you that Autumn is my favourite time of all.
The winter comes and the darkness creeps in,
So I tell you to put on your wellies and we go for a walk,
Squishing and squelching we walk and we talk
Your boot gets stuck as you step where it's muddy,
I laugh and and smile as you try to pull it free,
You look at me seriously, then start laughing with me.
The cold wind blows in and teeth chattering starts,
So you hand me your coat, shivering in the dark.
But you don't care, cause your smiling, on our winter walk.
The cold starts to ease as we walk in the spring,
We listen to music and feeling carefree, I hear you sing,
Walking quicker as the sky starts to rain dow

His fate is sealed.

Your minutes are few.
No! Don’t go back there-

The Loudest SoundThe Loudest Sound2 days ago in Free Verse More Like This
Tis deafening, the silent sound of snow
Resonating within the boundaries of nature
Falling softly in perfect harmony and dying
A floccule obtaining symmetry with its brothers
Yielding still, from patterns preordained
Knowing nothing of beauty or devastation
Blanketing Edens and Slums with impartially
Crystallized tears given freely from Angels
Silent haven for a souls vibrant rebirth
Untold beauty held gently against earths bosom
The symphony concludes, ending in magnificence
The mesmerizing sound dies away slowly, reluctantly
In it's wake arrives the frolicking playtime of mortals
Solitude is fractured by youthful laughter
The loudest sound fulfilling it's final destiny once more
Surges to the background and resigns silently to the sun........
